  • So, I decided to do a little review of my bike after owning it for 2 weeks, just mentioning some of the things I noticed, what I like and what I dislike.

    Sorry if I didn't explain myself well, I'm new to this lol.
    And yes, I realised I press the indicator switch a lot for no reason, I don't know why I do it and I didn't realise it's something I even did until I was editing the video. I'm really embarrassed about it, and I will make a conscious effort to stop XD.

    I'm gonna make more videos so like and sub please and thank you :)

    No it's not restricted
    Yes it has an exhaust (Akrapovic full titanium)
    Yes I know the audio sucks
    Yes I know I ride like an idiot.
    And yes, believe it or not I am using a Gopro Hero 10 and a Purple Panda mic.
    Thank you :).

    Love the vid mate! I’m looking to get one of these soon so been binge watching videos about these bikes aha, anyways don’t normally leave comments on vids but I really did like this video I could hear you perfectly and could hear the bike perfectly too without it interfering and making it hard to watch it all like some other videos about, I was thinking that then looked to see how many subs you had and was shocked, so subbed and liked, so nice one mate keep it up would love to see more vids on the cbr650r! My first bike was an 05 cbr1000rr and it was insanely fast. That being said it was pretty uncomfortable and going up a tooth or 2 on your rear sprocket, an exhaust, and a tune will make the 650r a blast to ride.

    The issue with the throttle is mostly the tuning in the ECU. They tune these bikes to be a little safer nowadays. And a lot of the time you’re not getting as much throttle as you’re putting in. An ECU flash and or tune will fix that

      Huh? Fair enough.

    • @rolandrieser2828
      @rolandrieser2828 Год назад +4

      @@tvtwistasmoto that is not true, the CBR650R have not e-Gas, so the ECU can not influence and move the Throttle. You control this by your Hand, you have Cable. That is the Throttle Bodie from the PC42.
      But the ECU control the Ignition Timing and the Injection.
      The Gear 6 is an Overdrive Gear for Touring, for safe Motor and Gasolin, the ECU reduce the Ignition.
      1 to 4 Gear have full Power, i use a Frontsproket 16Z for must not use Gear 5 and 6. But if you change the Sproket, the ECU can not calculate your Speed correct. If you use a bigger Sproket Front or a smaller at Rear, the Dashboard will show you to less Speed.

    This engine in stock trim is just on the limit of what you could get away with legally to enable it to be de-tuned for A2. It's nice that it's accessible that way, but I think, like yourself, most people on A2 are looking for a "fun A2 bike, for the moment" just to last them until they get their unrestricted, so the cost saving of the 500 is preferred.

    I think the mid-range hole is engineered into it to keep vibrations low. About 6k rpm is where inline fours enter their secondary resonance. If Honda had sprung for a balance shaft it wouldn't be necessary to mess with the torque curve like that, but then we'd all be paying more for it, so maybe they made the right decision.
    You _can_ tune that dip out, but that will most likely come at the expense of engine life. I'm keeping mine stock because I want to keep it long term. If you're not looking to do that (maybe upgrade later on?), then you probably won't suffer any of the downsides.

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  Год назад +1

      Makes sense!! I'm not too keen on doing the tune right now as I ride the bike everywhere all the time 🤣 so I want the bike to last as long as possible for now. But I plan to get another vehicle at some point which means the 650r can get a bit of a rest......then I might tune it.

    Good video mate, enjoyed it. With regards to the throttle, it might just be because it's an inline 4. Singles and twins produce a lot of their power and torque lower in the revs than these bikes, which makes them feel faster in a way. 4's require a lot more abuse of the throttle to get going, I think the torque really kicks in around 8k on these bikes.

      @@Dave-qq4lh not really. 600cc supersports (likes of R6, CBR600RR) or even 700~800cc triples feel much faster than this one and is much faster. This is more like a semi beginner bike, a perfect bike to get right after a 300cc or even a perfect starter bike that can last you 1+ year without getting bored quickly.

    • @Dave-qq4lh
      @Dave-qq4lh Год назад

       @EmotionalStreetTriple You misunderstood what I'm saying. I'm talking about the engine layout. 4 cylinder machines need revving, no matter what HP they are producing. My original comment tried to explain the "lag" behind the throttle. This is due to the layout, not how much HP the bike produces. Obviously, the bikes you mentioned feel faster than the CB, they should do. They are all over 100HP.

    Put tank grips on your gas tank you can grip the tank with your legs and it relieves the strain off your back and wrist. And as far as Hondas go they have a buttery low end and the power band kicks in at high revs thats just Hondas engineering. If your dissatisfied with the low end throttle response you would probably prefer the way the RR's or RRR's feel but much more uncomfortable, very very stable but positioning is very aggressive so if thats an issue than you would have to ask yourself what you want more because the 650R is made for more comfort.
