    I'm a fan of the fact this isn't done on some clean demonstration vehicle. Those parts clearly hadn't been touched until she got to them. Great video!

    Good video. However, you didn't tighten up the jamb nut for the outer tie rod end

  • @bhud1972

    Would it be possible to remove the inner tie rod and take both inner and outer out together? The you replace both and use the length to approximate your alignment and install them together. Is that possible or even sensible?

  • @olenaerhardt7725
    @olenaerhardt7725 4 года назад

    Could you tell what did you add on the outer side of the thread of the inner tie rod after installation? At that thread where the outer tie rod goes. Is it antilocker? Can you torque the inner tie rod when attaching, or it is better to do it manually how it is done in the film? Thank you very much for the film, especially that part where you explain how to lubricate the inner tie rod after the installation. The lady mechanic is so great in her precise and accurate work.

      She used antiseize compound on the part where the Outer Tie Rod screws onto the Inner Tie Rod. No need to use a Torque Wrench when tightening the Inner Tie Rod to the Rack. Just follow Her procedure in the Video. Make sure you use (Blue) Loctite on the Male Thread of the Inner Tie Rod to prevent it from loosening. The Part that threads into the Rack.

    Do they not sell a replacement metal clamp? The plastic zip tie doesn't seem as durable.

    Bent the crap out of pounding on that knuckle. Must be a better way. Probably a fork and some heat could be tried first. Glad its not my truck. I never reuse that old inner boot, you're just begging for premature failure of that inner end when that old boot cracks open.
