- A film by Martin Bourboulon, with François Civil, Vincent Cassel, Romain Duris, Pio Marmaï and Eva Green
In French cinemas on April 5th.
From the Louvre to Buckingham Palace, to the gutters of Paris to the siege of La Rochelle… In a kingdom divided by religious wars and under threat of British invasion, a handful of men and women will cross swords and tie their fate to that of France.
Its funny how you can instantly see that a film is not from Hollywood. And its a good thing.
I'm French and your commentary is interresting. What are the differences beetween this movie and a Hollywood movie. And what is your nationality ? I'm interested by sociology and I want to unsterdand the differences of culture with american/ english people thanks to the cinema.

🗡⚘️
Yes, strong characters, breathtaking scenery, actual drama, this looks to be a promising film.
I assume they're commenting on the naturalistic cinematography, practical action & effects for the most part, staying as authentic to the dialogue as they can - meaning in French with English subtitles, two feature films so a story with length and atmosphere can be told in a precise pace & tone without cramming it unnecessarily into one movie or stretching out multiple sequels only to exploit a profit. I haven't seen the movie but I am very excited for this! Hollywood still does make some worthwhile films but rarely of this scale or budget, and as far as I'm aware this appears to be the first "European"/foreign/not-Hollywood film of such grand epic scale, possibly ever!
This phrase gets thrown around alot these days, but I think it rightly applies here, THEY DON'T MAKE THESE ANYMORE! I really do hope this plays in a theater near me and people will show up to support it.
I'm a big fan of the Three Muskateers and there have been so many different versions of the movie. A lot of the version's themes are very comedic and family oriented which is fine, but this adaption makes it look very mature and serious and it looks BRILLIANT! I think this is going to be an AMAZING FILM!
Finally! A film company that understands that trailers need to be in 4K.
"The king has no friends! Only subjects, and enemies" is a great line
absolutely hyped for this adaptation. The cinematography and the setting looks absolutely breathtaking. and it is divided in two parts! I hope this is a faithful adaptation of a timeless classic, this looks promising.
Both film parts being in the same year nowadays is something godly for me
I agree, having read the book, it certainly looks, like a faithful adaptation
Watched it last night. Total blast 👍

This movie looks insanely accurate to the novel, I just finished reading it and almost every moment I was like "I remember this scene, I remember that scene". Looks very promising.

The French Novel about the French History by a French movie, finally the logical reality is respected!!!
Finally an adaptation that looks like what I imagine the books to be.

It looks amazing and promising! The actors, the costumes, the setting, everything is great! Well and how can you not be looking forward to a movie with Green and Cassel! Love the era and the novel, can't wait for the film!
Okay, soI have just watched the first movie in the cinema and it is amazing! Breathtaking! So beautiful and intense, I am in love with France once again!
Being french and seing this trailer made me proud of my country, and i wish this adaptation will give tons of new french blockbusters.
Enfin une interprétation non Anglo-saxonne,merci.
As much as I’ve enjoyed various adaptations of this story, it is VERY refreshing to not hear misplaced English accents in this trailer!

It's been quite a few years since I saw a movie trailer that got me excited to see the actual movie. I thought they had stopped making them this way. This looks very very promising and the fact that it's in French, like the source material, makes it even better.
Totally agree. About time for film adaptations to use the language of its original source material. I am all for it!!
Completely agree. I'm so sick of dying a little inside every time they make a period piece that makes no attempt whatsoever to capture the soul or the style of the work.
Fortunately, this one looks like it could be genuinely incredible.
Normal it is a French movie about a French Novel.

According to wikipédia (in French) there is more than 620 versions of The Three Musketers, for cinema and TV, and 154 versions in French...
No that’s how they make them all these days, woke face swap filth. A black D'Artagnan, just way too funny.
I generally have an immediate negative reaction to “remakes” and “reimaginings” but this looks incredible. From the trailer, it will be the most faithful adaptation of the novel ever done. I can’t wait for Easter.
Have you seen BBC's 'The Musketeers' series? NOTHING could ever outdo it!
@@deebinkies4274 nothing better then soviet "three marketeers" exist
Uhhh At what point of the novel was there a sea battle?
The reason remakes and reimaginings are always so terrible is because the filmmakers count on being able to ride the fame of classics which earned their success through great storytelling, cheaply using the name while betraying the soul of the work.
Honestly, this is the first trailer I've seen in a long time for a classic adaptation that didn't make me cringe, but honestly has me hyped for something that could be spectacular.
@James Schettler It's the epitome of a French novel so I bet a French movie is the one.
Brilliant films, I’m hoping for a 3rd part. Characters are cast perfectly, costumes are fantastic, stage as well. On top of this the studio stuck to the source material and didn’t turn it into a DEI film. I’m going to start looking for more films from this studio/France as they are putting out the opposite of Hollyweird. Likewise with The Count of Monte Cristi.
Very good teaser. MUCH better than modern Hollywood crafts. Definitely worth to look at : )

Rightfully done as adaptation,Great trailer..
The Three Musketeers is one of my all time favorite novels. I know they are very different from the source material, but I love the movie adaptation from the 70's with Michael York, and the 1993 Disney version too and I will not lying, but I really enjoyed the Paul Anderson film too despite all of it's nonsense. But my favorite movie with these charaters is The Man in the Iron Mask adaptation from 1998. That movie's tone was much more serious, dark and heroic, I think that was much closer to Dumas' original visions. I like the trailer of this new film and I really hope that finally we will get a more faithful version to the novel.
How about the Gene Kelly ilm?
