Cannot help but think of the Great Scots band, Silly Wizard and Andy M. Stewart's incredible, timeless rendition... but this was soulfully rendered as well.
The violin(s) and voice work so well together on this, and each line is perfectly understated. I've not heard another singer do this as well. It has a keen emotional heft.
Great singer and also very fines fiddlers . The effect is quite different from Scilly wizard because she sing in G key instead of D may be more suitable for this song Thanks for posting .
@L T Thank you for that. As it happens, I went looking for this song online. Couldn't find June Tabor, but I found Bones, and have had it on my iPod for months.
Not a patch on the original Bríd Og Ní Mhaile, why does June Tabor waste her time with bad translations of songs? She should stick to the English stuff she does so well.
the best version ever, june tabor, more than just a singer
This is such a beautiful song, Silly Wizard is a great version but for me this is perfect. June Table is stern but so melodic. I can't stop watching!
Excellent setting by June and crew. Respectful audience, too.

Omg

When she sings like this time seems to stand still. True beauty doesnt need much to hold it up.There is a lesson here.

This music is the music of the soul, the music that makes you feel better(not 100%, but better, despite the bad times) hope all is alright with you

Dame June!!!!!!!
Having said that, she probably wouldn't accept it.
this is a sad irish song about loving the wrong person

Bridget is dead, if you haven't realized it. A very sad but poignant and beautiful song and very well done here.

Harsh... Just enjoy the song, numpty
@@aodonn5041 To be fair it is a pretty good translation, and June does a fine job. Ar an am cheana, níl aon rud cosúil leis an leagan gaelach.
@@oggioggi7915what you said 😁 and meant 'numpty' in the nicest possible way
