The Actors and Actress I am exposed today, have much access to vocal teachers. I astounds me. If I introduced someone to Cumberbatch for the first time through this, I would have to show them his imdb page to prove he was a brit.

Nah . . . a simple mistake explains it very easily. The same reason he missed the “r” in the middle of “superstar” and near the end of “Robert”. Brits routinely skip those R’s and some American dialects do as well, but Tom Hanks voices them clearly. If Mr Cumberbatch had been given multiple takes - and a little correction from a movie director - he surely would have gotten it perfect. But this was LIVE, so . . .
Tom Hanks did it the traditional way; regional theatre, NYC, bad sitcom, the rest is history. If you've never seen it, you should RUclips search "Bosom Buddies."
