Another eventful day here on the Beautiful Island of Siargao here in the Philippines. From doing our monthly banking to checking out the TVS King Tok Tok prices here at the local dealer. However the deals policy says no monthly payment plans for foreigners CASH ONLY !!!

About me : Retired American Expat Brian & Filipina wife Luisa, living in the Angeles City / Clark Pampanga Philippines.
How many people can fit...???
2 foreigners. or
8 filipinos + 3 roosters + 1 dog + 4 cousins + 2 large sacks of rice + grandma .. and thats just the front seat.
You forgot the pet pig
@davidwike4522 no I didn't. Pig rides in the back
Bit racist! But expected from an arrogant Yank!
@@CASABaJA ..how do you know he's a yank, maybe he's from yorkshire
@ddutsie True. I am making assumptions, which one should never do.
That salesman looked stressed answering all your questions and he probably knew you were not gonna buy the trike...😂😂
Holy shit you really gave that salesman a going over.
That wasn’t nice with his sarcasm with the salesman. He’s just trying to make a living.Come on man,you were acting like a big shot!
They probably have had a rash of foreigners taking out a loan, just to skip the country & not come back. Cash dude.... thats how I operate here in California and am completely out of debt. If I can't afford it with cash, I ain't getting it.
Brian You Tested My Tuktuk Salesmans knowledge of that Gadget. I bet his Brain is beyond Fried from trying to Explain in English. Good thing his Back Up showed up...somewhat 😂
If you don't have the money for your expenses don't expect a foreign country to give you a loan. They don't know if you are going to just leave and never return.
Wife bought her Yahmaha 125 in 2018 they contacted her said her metal license plate is avaiable after all these years
That's actually pretty quick...haha.... When I bought a new motor in January 2023 dealer told me they were waiting for some plates from 2016 sales...😮
Should i buy one or not?when you have the money, deside.Dont waste the salesman time.
The sales staff was very friendly and very helpful answering all my questions.
You should just bring your family to the U.K where you will get everything for free. You just need to claim that you are in need of asylum.
Like it 😀
I wouldn't be too concerned about the top speed of the TVS King. I rode with Lucas in his Bajaj RE with me and Tok Tok Cali in the backseat. I doubt you'd even want to go 80kph in one of those things!
You'd have to be crazy to drive one of those at 90 😂
They did that in Indiana Jones also going downstairs 😂
Was lut popping her pimples in the mirror of the trike??😂
Get someone there to make the shell for your trike motorcycle :)
Banks seem like independent franchises with alternative banking rules. Cash is truly king even though digital methods are available. Keep strong 🏋️♂️✌️
Even when I lived in the Philippines I kept my US Bank and used a transfer service.
I've been watching you for years now and always enjoy the lifestyle of the Philippines and the way you explain your situations. I hope the best for you and yours.
Hey Philly, thanks for the info on the TVS scooter and financing. Just wanted to add that your camera takes the best (Crisp) videos out of all the Vids i've watched ! Good on ya brother !
Thanks for that!
for that amount you can buy a used good condition 4 door pickup. bnew is not the way. theres a service offered by reputable mechanic vloggers to come with you and check a used car you plan to buy.
If you're gonna buy tuktok replace the stock rear wheel with a wider wheel so it won't flip.
Wait, what? You don't need a driver's license if it has an electric motor?
Brian- you knew more about trikes than the salesman…
No need for me. I only buy what I can afford at once without loan, cars included. I never had a loan in my life. And I never missed paying my monthly visa-credit at the day due in 40 years.
there always a problem with some things here in the philippines❤️but that's the most beautiful thing about it 😅👌🏽❤️patience is a good thing to have here
🙂💪🏽 Stay Strong Brian
Loans are the one of the biggest scams ever 🤷🏻♂️ why would I pay extra money to guarantee I will pay you for an item that is so expensive that it puts a financial burden on my life for several years of my life? If something is too expensive for me to pay for it after saving up for one year then it’s overpriced 🤷🏻♂️
A loan? Man u foreigner u rich u pay cash
Getting loans in a foreign country as a foreigner is extremely difficult…. Credit system is completely different.
I also vote for Baja RE or Maxima. Hired a 70km ride a couple days ago, the guy had a Baja RE and we passed EVERYTHING and it did hills well also. Only disadvantage of Tuk-Tuk's are the small wheels. A multicab is a bit more, but way more useful. Don't go for ABS. You won't find ABS parts for repairs. Installment plans are a terrible deal. Bank loan is WAY better. Cash is best :)
I drove one last time I was there in the Philippines last August that belonged to my niece. Like you said, it was OK to drive around Magalang. Don’t know think I’d be comfortable driving one around Angeles City though.
Philly,
Congratulations on getting your ATM Card. 💳
Just another day in the Philippines 🇵🇭
Enjoy the rest of your day, lol 😂
Thumbs up 👍🏼
Hey Philly with that big RUclips money you could just pay cash.
Over priced for sure.
If they outlaw them , your screwed.
More common sense on sales.
Unreal.
Interesting... Ugly damn contraptions...How about looking into one of those small 4X4 multi cabs...
You will need to upgrade the seat cushion. I had my bajaj seats done for 10 k. Have about four in of foam now. Makes a world of difference.
Hey Brian check out the multi-cabs...and look for an older model because they are easier to work on and parts are everywhere
Made in India you dodged a bullet
The Bajaj aren’t horrible for what they are…they are made to go around town…parts are cheap and mass produced. Philippines has a lot of shade tree mechanics but not a lot of advanced techs to work on modern cars. The guys available know these fairly well. Simple and cheap. Plus locals can afford when you are done with it…
@@garystrain2788 Actually, Indian built vehicles are much more reliable than one might think! My Bajaj has served me well, but I keep the oil changed regularly!
The Mahindra Tractor I had, was the best machine I ever owned, before I sold it on retirement.
pH banks won't give you a debit card on a social security direct deposit card. Every month you come in and transfer to a debit card account in bank. No online. I'm 24years here.
I like it but my biggest concern would be how long would it last if it was built in America or Japan it would make me feel a lot better keep on having fun and be self everyone all my best Ramon
Banks you must pay off under 65. A few pay off at just over 70. Also have a act card. Some small high interest loan companies take you.
Get a van Multi Cab automatic with air and electric windows $5000.🇺🇸🗽. I have the 4x4 truck.
3 wheels.. easy to flip.. almost flipped my ebike once . 32 kilometers per hour
Finance 3400.00? c'mon man why pay interest?
I had a trike I bought cashin rizal and your better off buying a brand new Kawaski barako cash and buy a brand new prefab or custom carriage or used carriages are dime a dozen always on sale street side cheaper don't pay over 8,000 for a used carriage unless brand new don't pay More 15,000 php.
Then have your local Pinoy homemade road side bike shop or welding shop get busy with it or family member that can do and borrow a welder from his tamathache kuya or uncle hook something up it's cheaper used carriage and get a new motor.
Just buy it outright. That’s a good price for about 4k
He doesn't have $4k. That's why he's miserable and taking his frustrations out on the salesperson. Disgusting, entitled American 😢
Do they have a low-rider version of these Tok Tok's?
Imagine a Yellow Tok Tok with boom box in a low-rider version with LED lights around its perimeter and wheels !!!
Thank You! Next: Electric Options!
Those poor sales guys. Noses still bleeding now.
You can get a loan 💸 I’ve done it with BPI 🎉
You are correct as I got a car loan though BPI
Likewise, so have I had a loan with BPI.
I was rejected too and I'm Filipina with good income with 500k deposit in their bank because I'm over 65 years old.
❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍
14:16 forget the finance it'll just rip you off on the interst all you just need to do is put away $1,000 in 3months for it then buy it cash because I'm not paying extra $1,000 in finance and yes it's better just have a sidecar manufactured and a use Honda? A lot cheaper
Brian that is a pretty common policy not to loan to foreigners but you could put the loan in your wife's name no problem.
I don't mess around with large sums online... I just get cash then use that to do whatever be it transfer money, send money, or just pay
made in india. they only last 5 years. they are nice. ride at sabang mindoro
I would consider the chariot trike. It is much more flexible for carrying cargo and or passengers.
Various tyoes of rear protection from the weather, bench seating ect
Can carry over half a ton in weight, slighly cheaper as well! 80 kph top speed
They do not look very safe and don't look very well built, all plastic.
@@Baloybeach lol! No plastic! All steel! I’m 3-0, vs motorcycles that hit me on Mindanao!
Brilliant listening to the sales person A =alarm lol..... A=Automatic... Cool trike for family but i would take it down to a fabricator and get a frame put on the top for cases and shopping.... Great vid glad you get the same problems as me trying to get anything financial in the Philippines. Wife can get it but I cannot cause I am Foreigner
A for Americano. 😂
That was brutal and sad
My guess what you call the cash account is a USD account. We subscribers are not all US citizen. Great new videos.
If you get a chance stop by the Baja dealer and see the difference in price and the feeing of quality. Thanks
Yes, please show us the Baja models.
I’m sure that loan would be at 30% interest. Why would you want to pay that?
I think you should get a side-by-side either a Polaris or a Cam Am. You can get those in a couple different sizes. Not sure if you can get those in the Philippines but something to look into.
Everything is against you there as a kano 😂
Good Luck 😂
they did it again you cannot drink mountain dew
Some workers in Phillipines like to feel superior
Thats the order of high superior theyre just following
That's why we live in the high rise and people like that don't. Some filipinos are chill but this one is condescending
I don't think you need to spend pesos for wheels Philly. You and Mrs. Philly are getting around just fine without it.
LOVE YOU ❤️❤️❤️❤️
How much ?
That’s what I don’t understand over there, your income is your Pension every month which is three times the local makes every month that’s a proof of income that they were asking from the costumers still you cannot get a loan😳😱😩😡what else do they need from you if you missed a lot of payments they can sequester the Motor from you coz you weren’t able to make the payment the Bank don’t loose anything from this transaction no matter what😩🇵🇭🍀🇺🇸
TVS 3-wheeler has 4-stroke engine which confirms to Euro 6/BS6 standards (less pollution). This is the main reason why TVS and Bajaj 3-wheelers (both made in India) are in high demand. They also have CNG engine variants with even lesser pollution.
Great video Brian hi from Australia ❤️
Hey, thanks!
Kia Bongo3 Truck would be my first choice....Deisel, 4x4, Crew cab, 6ft bed. But for your 3 wheeler transpo a custom trike would be a good option. You can build the custom cabin you want with high headroom and all the parts for maintenance are standard motorcycle parts. With that Indian 3 wheeler all the parts are going to be brand/model specific and probably a pain to get.
6 or 7 passengers might be an underestimte.
Funny, I was at that same place last April. They had over 20 cheaper tuk tuks for sale for around 100,000 pesos. I almost bought the yellow one!😂
I had a Baja RE, it’s practical for daily errands, around town. Mine had the front “jump” seats, so six people could fit in it. As far as groceries, I had plenty of room, the area behind the rear seat was more than sufficient. That’s my experience.
Not if your shopping for 5+ people and you purchase for 2 weeks, no way that's fitting in
there when full of people, best idea would be to take it to a trike shop and have them
put a rack on the roof.
Modern lights and comfort are definitely worth buying a three wheeler, vs a trike conversion!
Now, if you’re starting with a 250cc motorcycle, then perhaps you might be happy
8 Miles From Home used to drive one when they moved to Siargao.A wife, little girl and a senior citizen. If i were to have one i would like that model rather than with the sidecar.
Wait, hold on! Did you just say a woman admitted her mistake?
Ok, I need to head to the Philippines ASAP!
for me i would not buy anything that just has three wheels only there to easy to tip over then a two wheels and four wheels those are lot more stable then any three wheel ones.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Get the sidecar with the top and windsheild for the driver Brian. It is more stable and holds more cargo with the trunk. You will save money in the long run.
Going to the grocery store , my wife and I are always asked , American or peso ? ( My bank is in the USA ) We always just say pesos . Is there a difference?
Yes your bank does the rate exchange. I have been told this is best?
Its flips actually especially in Strong winds or a big truck or bus overtakes you and make a steep turn. And people still purchase it. 🤪
I like the idea of something like that to stay out of the rain. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Those trikes are cheap. Id pick up a couple 😂 j/k thanks for the new vid
NWOW doesn't allow foreigners to finance their purchases either.
Enjoy your day.
The Philippines discriminate against age. I can't get a loan because I am older than 58
yes they do, but its supposed to be 65, the loan must be fulfilled before you
reach 65....that's what I found when researching
@@davidjames5727 NO THEY DO NOT. I been living here for 10 yrs.
I would never keep all my money in a bank account. I don't trust banks these days.
When I bought my Bajaj 3 wheeler, Emcore insisted my ex and I finance
Except for the more powerful engine, the two brands are pretty much the same in terms of value and longevity. There’s a learning curve to driving either trike, but it’s not too sharp. I’m serious, about the larger engine available with Bajaj being the selling point vs road king. Also, Bajaj is virtually the same price
Absolutely every bank is different. Even if it’s the same bank in a different location.
Honda and Suzuki can deal with risk. But a distributor can't. 🇺🇸🗽
as an owner of a tuktuk they have good brakes but I wouldn't recommend going faster than like 60kmph in one... wind is not your friend
We had to get away from the banks and go to company called south Asia link for financing. And had to put it in the wife's name. Truly sucks, but it is what it is !
Where's the rain 🌧
I don't have any thoughts, I'm not interested. :) Case closed buddy ha ha
To my understanding, if you are a senior citizen, you can't get a loan either, even if you are a Philippine Citizen. Curios if a bank would give you a loan to purchase a vehicle like most do in the USA
@gary - if one is a Filipino senior citizen and wants a bank loan, then they must have a co-maker who isn't a senior. The loan amount is computed based on the income of the non-senior co-maker.
If it's a housing loan (example for a rowhouse development), the number of years for the mortgage is computed based on the age of the non-senior co-maker. Example, age 30 or below can get a 30-year mortgage; if you're 40, then can only get 20-year mortgage. For some, the cut off age (for computation of years) is 60, others are 65. I think foreigners can't get a housing loan even if PR status (but am not sure).
Can those 3 wheelers pul a small trailer with that bigger horsepower model or made into a stretch model? Curious over modifications as you mentioned a grocery run might need more space ✍️✅ Thanks for showing this one ✌️
Brian try to look for tuktuk or maybe a chariot vehicle
Go with bajaj! They have 250cc standard. I am replacing my old Bajaj with a newer one, especially for the 250cc
Don’t believe the 80kph B.S.either! 65-70 is really pushing it!
I put a roof rack on my 3 wheeler, had plenty of room for groceries
Go to Emcor for a Bajaj!
The sales rep didn’t know shit lol
Is there an electric model for this Bajaj ?
