I sincerely appreciate that, Derek! Mr. Hogan delivered - and continues to deliver posthumously - phenomenal and timeless instructional value, right?! But there are just so many misconceptions about Hogan’s swing out there - particularly within the realm of misunderstood or misapplied teachings - that have sadly relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of chronic frustration. I’m doing my best to clear these up one by one and put an end to this madness, because if we can get Hogan right there are tremendously effective swing keys to be garnered. This video has truly helped my swing. I watched it twice, and went to the range. It was hard to get used to shallowing the club, but your image of a string attached to your hip prevailed. I over-rotated at first and pulled everything left. After chilling out the motion, the ball flight straightened out. I was stunned how effortless my swing was becoming. Thank you so much. Hopefully, I'll now be able to break 90, because I'll be hitting more from the fairway. Awesome !!
Best instructor on RUclips hands down. Love the way you simplify the golf swing and also enjoy someone with an actual personality and sense of humor. Thanks Tom!

I love the fact I find a random older video pop up to watch and gets me back to what should be good contact, according to my divot board lol thanks again! Definitely felt some pain in the lower back though doing that swing, wonder why. Work in progress
I'm glad to know that this Hogan lesson from the archives helped you find your groove! This is a very body-friendly motion, so any pain - aside from some occasional and normal minor muscle soreness - typically means that something is amiss either in the setup or the swing. For example, having both feet flared out approximately 20 degrees with the knees similarly angled outward are prescribed setup features of the swing system I teach. This orientation provides for an unrestricted 45 degrees of tilted hip turn, at which point we only need to add another 45 degrees of shoulder turn for a full 90 degrees. The result is a centered, stress-free, flowing motion back and through, and a very consistent, powerful swing. Have you considered the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step from setup to finish. More good instruction using Ben Hogan as an example of how to do it. As we discussed in one of your previous Hogan instruction videos, he showed some Stack & Tilt in his swing. He swung around, not up and down, and kept himself centered, not overly swaying and shifting weight to the back leg in the back swing. Great stuff!
Even though Mr. Hogan was not textbook S&T, Ed, he sure gives us a lot of great swing elements that we would be wise to embrace!! Glad you enjoyed it! Tom
Thanks again, Tom. I took this thought to the course today and played the best golf of my life! My distances were off, until I realized my rangefinder was set to meters instead of yards. I hit a short tee shot on the first tee, a par3, so I chipped in for birdie. What a way to start a round. I sent a couple of subsequent shots right, but realized I was letting my trail elbow leave my side. I fixed that, and the rest of the round was awesome. More GIRs that ever before. Your lessons are making golf fun again!
That's *AWESOME* , Steve!! (Gotta be careful with that metric system, though - it'll mess you up...😆) Anyway, I'm very glad to learn of your success through this instruction, but more importantly I am THRILLED to know how much you are now enjoying this great game!! Tom, bz here. I'm the guy that always calls you SaGOATo. I just wanted to let you know I shot an 88 yesterday. Hands down the best round of my life. Shot a 40 on the front 9!!! A FU%#*NG FORTY!! Then I celebrated with a few too many Coors Lite's on the back 9 and let some strokes get away from me. Probably should've been an 84. Anyways, thank you so much for your youtube videos. Finding your channel has changed the game for me in a dramatic way. I'm playing with confidence because I'm no longer guessing with my swing. If you'd have told me that I'd break 90 this season after consistently shooting in the 110's my whole life I'd have called you crazy. My golf goals are shifting! Thank you, Tom!
You *DA MAN* , bz!!! I am thrilled to learn of your tremendous progress and success!!! Keep it up - who knows how low you might go before this season is over??!! Thanks for sharing - you made my day! This is the first time I could really see this point about the right arm and the hip rotating.... fantastic demo and explanation by Hogan and yourself. Well done. I'm going to try it asap.

Yes - that oft overlooked trail arm really can make or break our entire swing!! Thanks for the kind words regarding this video - I'm glad y'all enjoyed it!! Tom
I thought u said if u drop the right shoulder during the downswing then everything will automatically work out. Basically just use shoulders with correct bend when swinging.

Tom, Thankyou, thankyou , thankyou! I have always understood the superb physics of Ben Hogan's swing but have been too dense to translate them to my own . Your elegant breakdown of its mechanics has enabled me to emulate and strike the ball more solidly and accurately than ever before. I have been stuck on 6 forever but handicap 4, ( my goal, ) here l come! Best regards Dennis Evans, Queensland Australia.

Wow, your recommendation of thinking that there is a string from the club to the hips changed it all for me. I now get it and can feel this swing. My hands are leading the club so much more and the lag is more pronounced. Thanks so much!
That's fantastic, George!! However, I must give all the credit to Mr. Hogan - he demonstrates (flawlessly, of course) while I just facilitate and help you to integrate! Thanks for sharing your success and keep up the great work!! Tom
Brilliant video Tom! Your explanation of Ben Hogan's lateral move of the hips to target to start the downswing struck me like a revelation - I've been rotating the hips right from the start for so many years! Can't wait to try this out. No more death zone for me. Thank you so much!
That is THE critical element to get the club in the "slot", Paul. If you hold your mouse pointer outside of Hogan's front hip in that video you'll see just how much he moves them laterally even though it looks like rotation. Completely takes the death zone out of play! Glad you enjoyed the lesson! Tom
Great advice that I must beat into my brain and my body. Really enjoy your style and humour and it’s cool the way you give full credit to Ben Hogan whilst breaking it down into a simpler form

The only man to truly own his golf swing. Ben was an artist with a majestic swing, and in my opinion one of the greatest there’s ever been, especially considering the major injuries he suffered during the prime of his career. This also affected his ability to play more often. Its incredible that he won 6 of his 9 Majors after that horrific car accident. I could watch that fluid, rhythmic swing all day!
Incredible legend! Poetry in motion! Imagine how many majors he could have won if he played in The Open his whole career (i.e. instead of once with one win) and a different format for the PGA that his body could have endured post-accident. There's a reason some would still argue he's the greatest.
Unfortunately, Thomas, all we can do is imagine... But yes - I believe his major record could have been up around the Nicklaus level if not for the War and the accident! This video helped me so much on the range today! Shortened the swing and kept the elbow on my side. Focused on legs initiating the swing and pow. 7 iron in the 160s is way long for me and the draw was consistent. Thank you!
Such an important and excellent lesson you and Ben gave here. I've played on and off for over 40 years, and I can already see a huge difference in my swing from following these techniques. Thanks a million and much success!!

GREAT VIDEO !!!!!! I was taught this 20 years ago ….. YOU WANT TO SCORE LOW, GOT GET SHALLOW I Use my (R) elbow staying tucked into my body , riding my body , staying close to my body always beating my hands to the top of my backswing as swing thought , helps me to get swinging shallow again … I like the lateral move towards target with the string attached to hip and but end of club . as another swing thought , I’m going add that with my(R) elbow into my body on the down also , elbow alwys has to beat my hands to the ball same as the back swing , GREAT VIDEO PARTNER ,

Hey Tom I also have Ben’s books and agree with everyone else that you explain it so perfectly. Thank you for that. Also I’m going to try to incorporate the pulling of the but end of the club with the lateral hip move. As a member, I had a little trouble understanding the downswing lesson where you talk about swinging with your shoulders to activate the rest of your body. Even though I would get some very crispy shots, I would catch myself on camera sometimes coming over the top slightly with out realizing it and wondering why the crispy feeling went away. I think this pulling action will help eliminate that. I love the online school and looking forward to the upgraded site JJ

Early days but I persevered with this yesterday... Struggled at first but when I started keeping the elbow attached my strike was better than I've ever known... Been struggling to play to 13... Went round the back 9 1 over... And date I say it, it was proper golf... It doesn't feel like another false dawn, will find out tonight!😜
I can't say the process won't come without hiccups, Steven - this is golf, so invariably it does. However, this WILL work for you if you commit to it and do the necessary work to ingrain it! Have fun tonight! Tom
It's ironic. Here I am in a funk and one of the things I got away from is firing that left hip forward first to start the downswing. This is exactly what the video is about. You didn't mention it in this video but as you have taught, the other problem it solves is reducing chunky shots and gaining needed extension in the swing. I definitely feel like I am descending the Mt. Everest summit, but it's too late in the day for a late 3 pm departure from the top and I am now stuck in the dreaded 'death zone'. Heading to the range in the morning to practice this movement if I can get back to base camp tonight, alive. Timely video Tom. Thanks!! Metin
Nice metaphor, Metin!! Have a safe descent....into the ball....on the inside track!! Thomas Fraser - Please refer to my reply to Rene in this thread. Not once did I reference Mr. Hogan's book with regard to the "string" comment. This was specifically a "feel" I was conveying to MY students, subs, and channel guests to get them out of the downswing "death zone" and into the "happy zone" - the primary point of this lesson. In the meantime, out of respect I would appreciate it if you could refrain from sabotaging the comments of well-intentioned individuals on my channel and simply post your thoughts and dissents separately. Good video. Learning the golf swing from Hogan is like learning physics from Einstein. Next I would do a video instruction on the point of impact. For example, some of my best short and long iron shots have occurred when my focus is on that part of grass 2 or 3 inches in front of the ball. I don't even look at the ball; It just gets in the way of the arc of my swing as I take out a nice dollar-sized piece of turf in front of it. Anyways, I enjoy your videos.

Ive been focusing on swinging the handle and butt of the club. I think alot of instructors miss the importance of this key concept. Often its how we describe things for each other. Everyone interprets ideas in their own way. I find swinging the club handle especially focusing on where the butt of the club is pointing works best for me.
I've done a couple of videos on that very subject: - ruclips.net/video/jX3EdIhGxR8/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/Jk4qXLsVKpk/видео.html I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. As such, it is important to understand that the lessons on this channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a comprehensive, step-by-step, position-by-position learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning this swing as it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through my RUclips content. EVERYTHING ELSE JUST FALLS INTO PLACE...............NATURALLY AND ATHLETICALLY! Never entered the "death zone" once! You da MAN! Mucho Gracias as they say here in ARIZONA!😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Well then, I guess we don't need to concern ourselves with your original ball position question as quite clearly you have figured it out...😎 Great job incorporating this into your swing! Have mucho fun out there!!! 😂 Tom
Good stuff Got to stay connected and under like Hogan I use my ground forces as I’m a long driver ( worlds) twisting right toe and ball of the foot into the ground and push off of that which forces the left hip to move laterally and rotate. Hogan has an extra spike installed under the ball of his foot for that reason. For me I need to keep my head back and under quite a bit to allow full release of the club and reduce tension on the left side
Hi Stephen - I truly appreciate the validation of a World's Long Drive participant with regard to some of my teaching method as you necessarily have to know how to harness everything that physics, geometry, and human physiology have to offer without breaking your body! Maintaining your connections, flexion and extension, angular momentum, use of the ground - these same key components of a body-friendly swing that produces consistent accuracy and effortless power for the average golfer are also deployed those who train to bomb it competitively a quarter mile! That's some great stuff, and I thank you for sharing your thoughts here!! Tom
You’re welcome and thank you for your fresh perspective on teaching golf from a dynamic yet simple perspective. I’ve seen Ben’s instructional videos before and as a golfer always looking at other teachers but nothing is better than his secret move of shallowing out whilst remaining connected.
First golf book I ever read was Power Gold by:............ Ben Hogan, but at the age of 12 I could not understand it fully. You are bringing to life, what i tried to emulate so may ....... ummm years ago.....

I did this for the first time on the range today and OH MY THE WRATH OF GOD IS REAL!!! This is a game changer for me. I tended to hit a baby fade or a bad chop motion at times... let me say this swing path has been the absolute best! I've never hit my hybrids so clean in my life!!!🔥🔥🔥
Harvey Penick in his book Little Red Book calls this move the Magic Move. He says that in the downswing you bring the right elbow into your side while at the same time make your lateral move to the left. He says this is one move, not two. Practice this move every day, and you don't even need a club. Harvey says that once you master this move "you will hit the ball as if by magic!".
Yes - it ultimately melds into one move, but I find it most helpful for my audience to digest in bite-size portions. That's why I did this lesson and another called "Ben Hogan's Magic Elbow": ruclips.net/video/iL9WmQ7KsmE/видео.html It is indeed magical once the motions blend together! TS

Hogan's drill shown at 1:00 also illustrates how little use comes from thinking about the "end of backswing" versus "start of the downswing." Hogan shows us they are one motion. He's created a position at the end of the takeaway that needs to reverse direction. I see three movements in Hogan's swing. A takeaway that sets the angles/position, a transitional/reversal of motion that maintains those angles, and then a release of the angles through the impact zone. (The follow-through requires little attention if everything else goes well.) Hogan illustrates how to perform this single reversal motion. When I'm hitting the ball really well the transition almost feels like it's happening in slow motion. Any sense of a pause or stop between the backswing and downswing is just an illusion.
I appreciate that, Randall - I'm very glad to know that you're enjoying my channel's lesson content!! Please be sure to tune in on Saturday at 8:45 pm EST for the next installment of my Ben Hogan series!! Thanks again for your support! Tom
I love that explosion when that golf ball hit your net target woowap every time, i notice your logo mat is behind your net , save the logo replace the net when needed
The logo background is all about building brand awareness, Randy. That one sure did take a beating, but it lasted me the better part of a year. Just replaced it recently. Woowap!! 😂 Tom

I appreciate that and I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you! I too very much enjoyed seeing Harman take home the Claret Jug. He has a wonderful motion that does not seem to cause any bodily stress, and he sure does create a ton of lag. I also love his "Hogan-esque" trail arm/elbow action, which is very much aligned with what I teach. Thanks for your message and support!! Tom
Good stuff I single plain play to a 7 and I think this is what im missing I dont fire my hips but I do drop it in the slot and pull the club thru it releases after the ball hits a nice draw im older in my 50s my lower body doesnt want to move like it use too. Hope this works for me will let you know ty for the good visuals
Sounds good, David! I'm glad you enjoyed the lesson and I hope it works well for you. By the way, here is another Hogan episode related to the hip/tailbone action that may help: ruclips.net/video/GYRCd7WMoSI/видео.html Tom
the thing thats really put my swing on track was mimicking you,, at first it was awkward ! but gradually it stuck, ,then i stopped practising to get a consistent swing to now learning to aim for a target and a distance /club thing, progress ,do a lesson on target practise tom, or how to aim deadly 🎯😇
Mimicking me can absolutely be awkward, William. It's awkward enough just being me.......😆😆 Thanks so much for sharing your process and ongoing improvement. Keep it crispy and have fun out there!! Tom
I'm glad you enjoyed this episode, @Geary Gaspord! This lesson on Mr. Hogan's "magic elbow" has helped countless golfer across the globe to overcome a variety of issues and start enjoying the best golf of their lives. I hope it works well for you too! TS
Tom. Not sure where to ask you so here it goes. I can’t quit hitting my drive on the heel. I miss the face. Am I coming into the ball from the inside too much? I’m a believer in the S/T system but can’t hit my driver square.
Hi Mitch, With regard to your tendency to heel it with your driver, have you enrolled in my online school yet? If so, please post your question in the members-only Office Hours portal and I'll respond to you there. If not, then for just $10 US/month or $99 US/year the school will put you on the fast track to owning this swing throughout your bag through short, simple, step-by-step videos. Additionally, there is an abundance of content aimed at resolving a variety of swing flaws and ball flight issues, and I also personally answer specific swing-related questions from members. Here's a link if you'd like more info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga. Having not seen your swing - and not knowing anything about the ball flight - I can only take a blind stab as to what the culprit might be. I will offer this, however: if you're hitting the irons well then oftentimes problems with the driver are a result of not having enough weight moving forward through impact. The wider stance and more forward ball position with the driver necessitates that we keep our hips moving laterally for a longer duration (while maintaining our swing center, of course), otherwise their rotation will take over, reroute the path, and potentially cause a variety of mishits. I wish your the best in resolving this and I hope to see you soon in the online school! Cheers! Tom

Hello Tom. I'm loving my new swing and hitting the ball straighter and farther than ever, but pitching and chipping leave me scratching my head. Can you make a video on just the short game? Thank You so much, I think you're awesome and tell everyone who wants to know where my new found confidence comes from.
Hi Michael, I'm glad to know that you have been benefiting from these video lessons on my channel, and I truly appreciate your kind words!! Have you considered enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school? This is where you'll find my pitching and chipping courses (which I've just recently expanded and updated, by the way). For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only system for the full swing, the short game, and much more. There's even a members' forum where you can ask me specific swing-related questions and suggest new content ideas, and I will soon be adding live Q&A sessions as well. Your best vid yet...fabulous
Pretty good and very enjoyable new instructions more for today’s market.
The fact we are still looking to Mr. Hogan shows his greatness.
Yes indeed!!
Great video and such a simple thought. I realize you’re basically sharing Hogan’s teachings but you do it in a way that simplifies the swing thought.

Thanks Tom!
Hi Shawn,

Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews.
(Gotta be careful with that metric system, though - it'll mess you up...😆)
Anyway, I'm very glad to learn of your success through this instruction, but more importantly I am THRILLED to know how much you are now enjoying this great game!! THAT is what this channel and my online school are really all about!!

This is the first time I could really see this point about the right arm and the hip rotating.... fantastic demo and explanation by Hogan and yourself. Well done. I'm going to try it asap.
Wow. It all makes sence. Forgot all about the trail arm and usually cut across the ball. Now will attempt to use the string trick
Thank you for sharing
Yes - that oft overlooked trail arm really can make or break our entire swing!!
Thanks for the kind words regarding this video - I'm glad y'all enjoyed it!!

I thought u said if u drop the right shoulder during the downswing then everything will automatically work out. Basically just use shoulders with correct bend when swinging.
Best video and explanation of this iv seen. Especially the alignment stick visual is perfect.

SagutoGolf between you and Ben Hogan I’m gonna get to 80 eventually!!! Thank you, golf and guitar!! My two favorite pastimes
Not the only man...
Don’t forget about moe
Jim Furyk and Moe Norman
Lee Trevino
Incredible legend! Poetry in motion! Imagine how many majors he could have won if he played in The Open his whole career (i.e. instead of once with one win) and a different format for the PGA that his body could have endured post-accident.
There's a reason some would still argue he's the greatest.
Unfortunately, Thomas, all we can do is imagine... But yes - I believe his major record could have been up around the Nicklaus level if not for the War and the accident!

GREAT VIDEO !!!!!!
I was taught this 20 years ago …..
YOU WANT TO SCORE LOW, GOT GET SHALLOW
I Use my (R) elbow staying tucked into my body , riding my body , staying close to my body always beating my hands to the top of my backswing as swing thought ,
helps me to get swinging shallow again …
I like the lateral move towards target with the string attached to hip and but end of club . as another swing thought ,
I’m going add that with my(R) elbow into my body on the down also , elbow alwys has to beat my hands to the ball same as the back swing ,
GREAT VIDEO PARTNER ,
I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you! I appreciate your validating remarks and I hope those additional elements you mentioned perform well when you put them into practice.

Worked on it today the guys and had some fun, see the link, thanks again, Tom, this is thanks to your tips and Hogan's.

@@SagutoGolf by telling me a few key faults, you and my mates have made golf fun again, so I thank you and them sir :-)

This quite possibly could be not only my favorite Saguto vid, but my favorite golf vid of all time (at least 1000 watched vids)
Tom, I gotta hand it to you. I've been trying to get a better handle on the Hogan swing for years. Your instruction, I think, may be the best I've seen. Thanks so much for your clarity, insights, and enthusiasm. I hope to sign up with you this coming spring.

Tom
Finally clicked for me on the course!! Recovering over the topper. Drives me nuts. Keeping elbow tucked and club shallow is key!!!
Oh yeah - that tucked trail elbow is a game changer for sure, Ron, and Mr. Hogan demonstrates it beautifully!!
Cheers!
You certainly have an excellent understand of what happens in the swing, and I'm very glad this video resonated with you!!

@@SagutoGolf I was about to sign up for your $10 per month deal. Does it have something to help keep the right elbow in? Or do you look at our swing videos if we are a member? My right elbow is not doing what it should be, and I'm not getting great ball then turf contact. Old habits of lifting the left arm I think. Still fighting the flipping instinct. But definite improvements!

Thanks Rene - I truly appreciate your kind words and am glad to know that you enjoyed this video! Aside from that, if it makes so much of a difference to you as to whether a string or rope is attached to the abdomen vs. the lead hip that you are compelled to nitpick it, then by all means feel free to put in the time to build your own online instruction channel, create free detailed video content, and teach your swing methodology. In the meantime, out of respect I would appreciate it if you could refrain from sabotaging the comments of well-intentioned individuals on my channel and simply post your thoughts and dissents separately.
Rene Wojcik - I apologize for any undeserved troubles related to your very kind and genuine comment.

SagutoGolf thank you. Could you tell me why Stack and Tilt is better then a conventional swing? No argument here. I really would love to hear your opinion or have you even presented a video on the subject? Perhaps you did and I will look for it. Cheers
I love the stack and tilt I’ll be glad when I get it down pat
Stack and Tilt truly is fabulous system that is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and modeled on empirical observations of the game's most prolific ball strikers.
Now, if you'd really like to get on the fast track towards properly learning this swing system in a comprehensive, structured, sequential platform, please consider my online school. It will make for a far more efficient, superior, and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic. The school is where you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish, along with diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more.
And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ That is where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner.
Embrace the system, embrace the process, and you will soon embrace ownership of a well-functioning swing and the resulting ball striking bliss it provides!

Thanks thanks for your prompt and detailed reply Jack
My pleasure, Jack!
Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Ive been focusing on swinging the handle and butt of the club. I think alot of instructors miss the importance of this key concept. Often its how we describe things for each other. Everyone interprets ideas in their own way. I find swinging the club handle especially focusing on where the butt of the club is pointing works best for me.
I've done a couple of videos on that very subject:
- ruclips.net/video/jX3EdIhGxR8/видео.html
- ruclips.net/video/Jk4qXLsVKpk/видео.html
I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. The lessons and drills provide the guidelines and set the boundaries, while allowing ample leeway for each individual golfer to infuse and exercise their own uniqueness. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result of the school, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews.
Would you like to learn some key aspects of the body-friendly, powerful, low-maintenance swing system I teach in a more structured manner? If so, then here is a link to my newly updated FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal instruction method that is delivering the referenced results.

You said that you placed the ball "about on the same line as the stick." To me it looks like the ball is sitting 6"-8" IN FRONT OF THE STICK, to insure an "in to out" swing path...............correct; or am I hallucinating! 😎🏌️♂️ well Tom, I just got back from the driving range trying this out and was hitting every shot with my 8 iron 160 - 165 yards with a PUSH DRAW! AMAZING! So easy to square my club face, not roll my hands with my release and make perfect contact! My swing felt effortless. On plane, easy and fluid. This video just became a PERMANENT PART AND FOUNDATIONAL PART OF MY SWING. THIS IS MY NEW AND ONLY THOUGHT FOR MY SWING. EVERYTHING ELSE JUST FALLS INTO PLACE...............NATURALLY AND ATHLETICALLY! Never entered the "death zone" once! You da MAN! Mucho Gracias as they say here in ARIZONA!😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Well then, I guess we don't need to concern ourselves with your original ball position question as quite clearly you have figured it out...😎
Great job incorporating this into your swing! Have mucho fun out there!!! 😂
Tom
Good stuff
Got to stay connected and under like Hogan
I use my ground forces as I’m a long driver ( worlds) twisting right toe and ball of the foot into the ground and push off of that which forces the left hip to move laterally and rotate.

That's why I did this lesson and another called "Ben Hogan's Magic Elbow": ruclips.net/video/iL9WmQ7KsmE/видео.html

Tom,I'm 74 and been playing for 60 of them and can tell you I've struggled with this game for 60 years
Hogan's drill shown at 1:00 also illustrates how little use comes from thinking about the "end of backswing" versus "start of the downswing." Hogan shows us they are one motion.
I agree....unless your name is Matsuyama, in which case we need to talk....😆
Thanks so much for your excellent videos, they’re big concepts to learn- made so simple.

Tom. Not sure where to ask you so here it goes. I can’t quit hitting my drive on the heel. I miss the face. Am I coming into the ball from the inside too much? I’m a believer in the S/T system but can’t hit my driver square.
Hi Mitch,
With regard to your tendency to heel it with your driver, have you enrolled in my online school yet?
Cheers!
