It’s great how much detail you go into some things. It’s nice to be so deliberate, so that there are no questions or misunderstandings are left after watching your video.
Bought one from you last year. I personally prefer to put my own stamp on my bonsai trees and these are ideal material to do that. Another very instructive video for the relative newby. Well done.
Great video to watch. I know that you different level bonsai professional but maybe you can make a video on how to start the bonsai from Saplings. Like first ever styling on junipers. Lots of videos out there but would be really great to see yours. I’ve seen one video where you styling bonsai starters but would be great to see more junipers and also One of my favourite ones is Blaauw juniper.
Looking at my lockdown juniper from last year thinking I’d done an amazing job and it took me 3 hours, then Corin knocks this up in 15 minutes flat. Think I’ll get another one now I’ve seen how it should be done.
Just discovered your channel , what an excellent styling demonstration corin , to see someone style a tree with such confidence and finesse is a real pleasure to watch and learn from. I love juniper bonsai , im only a novice but i have a few sadly which with my limited skills i butcher every now and then. Lol
Picked up a rather nice juniper from a local grocery store that sells plants as well. It’s probably about 5 years old. It was a bush really. It came out absolutely beautiful. Trunk naturally had awesome movement. Cost $18
Fantastic informative content. Not sure whether or not to add this to my mainly deciduous collection, definitely want some evergreens though. You make the process look logical, thank you.
Just goes to show Corin's skill and experience, whipping up a bonsai in half an hour, kudos. Loving the videos Corin, when it's the right time of year could you please show how to prune a Japanese white pine to promote back budding, I've got the candle pinching absolutely sorted but I can't get much in the way of back budding on my pines. These lockdown junipers look like great value for money.

Thanks Corin! I really enjoyed this video and your detailed explanations. This is new to me so I am trying to learn everything I can before deciding to commit to a tree. What kind of tree would you recommend for a beginner. I live in Washington USA. Thanks again! Gale
Hi Corin. Love your teaching videos, but I wish that you would somehow have the camera showing just what you are cutting. I know that you are describing what you are cutting, but you are behind the tree making the cuts, and the camera is in front of the tree.
nice little shinpaku! the start of something great 👌🏼 I also use aluminum wire on all junipers, mostly cus I'm a noob & haven't got to practice with copper yet but i have wired with copper before and you're right aluminum much faster 😅 or safer I guess more room for error 🤣

I don't suppose you could ship a Chinese Juniper or pine to Thailand could you? Just getting into working with Bonzai trees and would like to have one of Junipers or pines in a pot so I could try my hand at turning it into a nice work of art myself. Or, know of any place here in Thailand that sells these plants, I have looked around quite a bit and have not been very lucky.
Hi, I'm new to this channel that I discovered by chance a short time ago, I'm Spanish and I don't speak English, could you somehow, even if it is to put the subtitles of the videos in Spanish? I am a lover of bonsai, and although with my eyes I usually keep things, obviously if I could read it it would be for me and I think that also for many Spaniards who follow this channel, it would be much better. Anyway, you can or cannot do it, my high esteem as a bonsai professional, greetings from a Spaniard from Cadiz (Spain) regards
I've been told by the Japanese guys that they can't even when they try it doesn't always work unfortunately. Ive heard that if you use a computer instead of a smartphone or tablet that there are more translation features but I don't have a computer anymore.
I think you should discuss the differences between British aluminum wire and US aluminum wire. I was surprised to see that their spelling is identical, especially when you hear how differently they’re pronounced! ;-)
Corin your teaching is second to none. What a transformation. Just recently discovered your channel, it’s inspiring
Thank you David.

hello corin can you do a video on a urban yamadori juniper not a neddle juniper
I could if I had a urban yamadori Juniper (not Needle) ;-)
is that possible to place the camera in the axis of your work ? we can't see the branches you prune :(
I could see how that would be helpful!!
Is that scrim tape roll you used to semi block the drainage holes?
yep
Where you got that rolled mesh?
diy store, drywall / plasterboard tape. We also have it on our website
How much do you usually charge for one of them unstyled lockdown junipers ?
Hi we have a few Chinese Juniper on our website. Check them out on this link

For how long are the wires supposed to stay on the branches ?
Take them off before they get too tight, probably around 8-10 months on this tree.

I always wonder why using ordinary dirt like the tree grows in in nature isn't better than using dry, rocky pellets?
Because open ground and pot growing are very different. Also small compact root systems are different than extended Roots in open ground.
