5 minute video with the what, the why, and the how. Excellent work! You were recommended in a book club meeting this morning. Good video. The LD was correct.
I really appreciate a nice, clear to the point video like this. Thank you!
Ok, this is the most succinct load out and how I pack my gear video ever.
Thank you so much for this breakdown! Your gear is awesome!
Great video and to the point. Love how you pack an make use of the space.
Great gear video! Happy to see that you are doing so well.
best gear list video on here... to the point and loaded!
Good to hear from you again! Stay safe and keep the videos coming ☺️
Most efficient and easy to follow gear video! Thank you!
Good to see that you are posting again.
Always great to watch your posts Julia. So practical and informative. I truly value the time you put into them all. I hope you are healthy and well. Despite the pandemic, it's an even better opportunity to get out and enjoy the rays and all that Mamma Nature has to offer. I have enjoyed many day hikes and climbs so far this year. I would really like to embrace winter more with hiking and snowshoeing. Keep it up! Have fun, stay healthy and safe. Embrace those hobbies! We always love hearing from you!
Rocket, Great pack video. Stay safe from Pennsylvania. God Bless
I wish I had know about Gossamer Gear before I bought Z-packs. Thanks for mentioning it every time. IF we ever get to go, I will get exactly the pack you have
I LOVE Gossamer Gear! Started by one man in his garage. Every time I’ve spoken with someone who works at GG they are super understand and awesome! 10/10 would recommend!
Very nice set up. Been looking for a good dry bag. Ive also been trying to down size my gear so this has given some hints
Hey, it’s good to hear from you again.
Your PCT announcement popped up on my feed earlier this morning. Great to see your still making videos!
Glad to see you are still making videos. Hope you have been able to get some trips in these last couple months.
Very informative and practical method to pack your pack. I like how you combined your sleeping bag and airpad to get in the same spot. My tent is little funny shaped, almost like a kidney bean, so I think it's going to go on the outside. I am working on a new gear set up for the 2021 hiking season and this gave me some good ideas. Thanks so much , Rocket.
Nice Video! Thanks for posting. Can't wait to see more videos 👍
"PREMIUM" video... Short sweet and too the point. HAPPY TRAILS 😀
Great video. Well done!
Thank you for posting this. I found it very useful. And, God forbid anything happens to your day job, but it must be nice having the assurance that you can always find work as a ventriloquist.
Ty for the links
Can't wait for the pack review!!
It’ll be soon. Stay tuned!
Informative video and very organized!
Gossamer never fail to impress me. I also have the same backpack and it's super amazing -- heavy duty, roomy, and will always keep in place. However, my sister didn't like it because she's left handed. Nice setup you had here. Thanks for sharing :)
What an informative video. Quick and to the point, I like it!
Do you know if The One tent is appropriate for above treeline hiking?
you did great and im sure its all complete for your camping! goodluck
So great my new pack thanks so much for your great review!!!
Very good setup, well done
It's pretty obvious that you have learned a lot and assembled a very good system that works well for you! My stuff is several years old but still works, but I am very interested in ditching my "mummy" bags and getting a quilt. I'm itching to go hiking as soon as it cools off!
Quilts are so comfy! You should definitely try one!
"Roll that puppy down". Funny. I checked your channel last week to see if you had posted even though I hit the bell icon. Glad you're back and well.
Yeah, I’ve had the bell notification on for months now and haven’t received anything. Idk why.
Aaron Martin I’m sorry I’ve been super busy and haven’t had much time to make videos! But that should be changing!!
Julia Sheehan oh nah, that’s fine. I was saying that even for some of the new vids you made over the months I never got any notifications that you uploaded them. Thanks for the reply, though!
I just did my first weekend of backpacking and wildcamping and it took me two days to pack 🤦♂️ and you manage to do it in 5 minutes without even breaking a sweat 👍🏽🙏🏽
Hahah I’ve had a lot of practice!!
@@jls935 so I see, hopefully I'll be more proficient next time 👍🏽🙏🏽
Once you have your gear sorted into one plastic tub it's relatively easy. I have a large spread sheet with everything on it. I make a copy then delete what o won't be taking yo print off as a check list but I'm OCD like that 🤗🤗
@@michaelmcphee2930 I have my car camping gear set up and ready to go like that, but backpacking and hiking is something new to me.
My son put me on his subscription... wow! Loving it!
Thanks for coming! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Nice little video . well done 👍
I just got home from my very first solo canoe overnight. Took me weeks to plan and a week to pack but I got it right. Lessons learned and perfect weather to practice. I liked your video a LOT because I hike too and it's really thoughtful and clear. Thanks! Can you post a video of hanging food? Where i went was almost glamping because there were food lockers!
Great video!
Very good informations! Thanks for sharing! 👌❤️🌼🤗
Altra Lone Peak 3.5 shoes are kinda hard to find. Just watched your AT hiking video over the weekend. Loved it.
The 3.5 is the older model. The current version is 4.5.
Good pack out simple into the point ... I would recommend looking into Osprey dry sacks , i’ve been using theirs and their stuff sacks for many years , They are much lighter than the seed to Summit
Love your videos😊😊
Excellent vid! I have most of the same gear. How would you recommend loading with 5-10 days of food?
I love the gossamer g4_20 it's a great pack. Toying with getting a in reachmini tho
So dope. Can you bring us on another hike soon?
Nice video! How do you rate your Gossamer The One tent...?
good vid, Rocket.
What size LiteAF food bag did you utilize?
Hello Julia. What about the first aid kit ?
Nice!
Well done! Concise and to the point. What was the total base weight? Sorry if I missed it.
Not sure exactly 13-15lbs I think!
Did you like your sleeping pad? I was looking into the thermarest but heard it made a lot of noise. What is your opinion on it?
Right to the point, I will send people here for this content. Wish everyone did this for trips instead of making a 20 minute ME ME ME video. Appreciate the upload, good luck on the next adventure.
Julia did you/would you use the LAF bear bag on the AT? Weather(rain) wise is a okay?
I kept most of my food inside ziplock bags as well just because most food bags will wet out eventually!
How often do you use the rain pants? I've been backpacking 6 years and have never used mine. Thinking of ditching them. p.s. I use my rain jacket regularly.
I’ll be using the rain skirt unless it’s cold!
Very nice gear list. Bet it feels super comfy because it's light.
How much does your pack weigh?
Hi, do you think your quilt will fit on the 8L roll top sea to swmmit?
I think if you didn’t put your sleeping pad in, 8L would be fine!
Hi! Could you make a size rec? I'm 5'5" and am going back and forth between small and medium, I'm leaning toward small because my hip rides a bit high, but it feels counterintuitive bc I'm usually sizing up for most other things!
There are sizing guides on the website! I hooe this helps!
@@jls935 yes I saw! I was right on the cusp! Went with a small and took it to Sequoia last week and loved it!
Good review - I was wondering what your base weight comes in at?
Somewhere between 12-16 lbs I think! I stopped weighing things because It’s not useful to me to stress over ounces!
What does it all weigh?
I watched ur entire through hike video of the AT, it looked like a heck of an adventure! Is that the only trail u have hiked? If not what others have u done, and which do u plan on doing n the future? U said pct on this video, me personally I'd like to do the AT and here n the state I live n the CDT starts, I'd love to do a through hike, maybe something n the future I'll b able to
How many kilometers will it be? I want you to write it in subtitles. I'm not good at hearing English
Total weight?
Where do I get this shirt lol
How do you use that umbrella in the rain if you already carry rain jacket and pants?
I use both. Rain gear will wet out at some point. It’s nice to have extra protection.
@@jls935 Aha ok. I bought a rain jacket with GTT empel DWR, which is some wierd nano tech. Its supposed to never wash our wear out. Also works better than conventional dwr. looks promising
Kalle Salminen that’s awesome!!
THANK YOU ! GLAD YOU ARE DOING GOOD & SAFE ! HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT YEAR ! BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED !
GOING TO HAVE TO CHECK OUT SOME OF THE GEAR OUT TOO !
Looks like a vlog from an Italian villa.
I wish!!!
Cool beans. I got my base weight down to 6lbs! (Which I consider quite an achievement being 6foot5 and using all long/wide gear) I love gear!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
That’s wild! Congrats you Ultra ultra lighter!
You should post a video!
baron Davis maybe someday, but for now I do have a Lighterpack page, if at all you would like the link?
Yimmy Yeah, that’d be great. Thanks!
baron Davis sure thing .. try this, just replace the (dot) with a . lighterpack(Dot)com/r/erf2bk . Hope this works!
What's the weight of your gear?
13-15 lbs?
I miss seeing your smiling face on the video's. You have a upbeat personality which is a delight to see. Make it a great day and thank you for sharing your fun stories with me/us.
great video... you have a great voice for voice overs... did you get a face tat?
A small face scratch!
@@jls935 likely story.. I know its a tear drop from you stabbing someone in prison... I AM KIDDING.. Keep up the good work lol
Reasonable gear. Even more reasonable house. Why are not all veterans able to live such a happy life?
Might want to check for ticks.Good video.
What does all that weigh?
I haven’t weighed it all out. Probably around 13-14 lbs
Did you go vegan, or semi veg? Curious as to what you are packing for food. I was vegan, went to poultry/fish, now just fish, but will most likely go back to vegan. It can be challenging!
I’ll be doing a video on vegetarian meals for trail soon!
How much weight?
I haven’t weighed it all out. Probably around 13-14 lbs
@@jls935 Thank you...
Love everything listed but that pocket knife is trash LOL
It’s worked so well for $5!! And it’s super light!!!
1:13 ..favorite line "roll that puppy down"
second favorite line 3:37 "don't forget the spoooooon"
The grass needs a mowing
My landlord is slacking!
Oh. I was wondering where you were and why you were filming at an abandoned house. Yikes.
I wasn't sure but did you carry a headlamp at all?
Hi Julia. I know it's more difficult, but it would be nice if you could speak while you are showing off the equipment, instead of doing the voice over. Btw, I have a video on polycryo ground sheets.
I didn’t want to get side tracked with talking while outing my gear away and I was afraid you wouldn’t be able to hear me over the sounds of my gear.....
I may need to look into getting a few lighter versions of things. My pack is like 40 - 50 lbs while in ready to go state. I've been trying to wear it on shorter hikes and walks to get my body adjusted to the extra weight, but so far 6-7 miles is the longest I've done semi comfortably. I'm worried about burning too many calories by carrying that much weight. I'm sure I'll ditch stuff I don't absolutely need as I start moving up the trail. I plan to rough it though. The main thing I plan to get in town is food. I'm prepared to eat fish if I have to. I'd prefer not to take the life of another creature though. Anyway, glad to see you've still got the spirit of the wild. The PCT looks like no joke. I thought to maybe do the PCT rather than the AT, but with the extreme weather transitions I feel like the AT will be a good place to start. Plus when I pass through TN I'm going to hop off trail for a couple days to visit my family. Sorry for the novel, but when the wheels start turning I just set it free lol. I've enjoyed everything I've watched of yours so far so I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Your aura is absolutely infectious. Hope you have a lovely day.
Ventriloquism is a career option, I'd say.
Um, this makes absolutely no sense as far as backpacking goes. Sorry but yeah, maybe you don’t actually use these things?
I used them for 2200 miles. What doesn’t make sense?
Julia Sheehan their comment, lol.
