Booked on Atlantic Airways in April but due to covid trip was cancelled. They were non refundable tickets. Atlantic Airways did the honourable thing of refunding 100% of the fare. Deeply impressed ans will fly with them in the future.
@@JoshCahill Actually the enroute flying time is always estimated at 2hrs 10 min - but depending on weather conditions or in case of medical emergency flight to Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, they may complete the as fast as 1hrs 30min.
Fantastic Video and really well put together. That Helicopter flight was the icing on the cake, how special and the views spectacular!! I was suprised to learn only Atlantic Airlines and Scandanavia Airlines fly into the Faroe Islands obviously its to do with the training required to land there. Thanks so much for doing the trip for us as we live vicariously through your travels at this time. Well done👍
Hi I live on the Spanish Canary Island of Gran Canaria, andI work at the airport (LPA), in the winter months Atlantic Airways fly in bringing their customers for some nice ,warm winter sun.
Seems nobody mentioned it yet. They didn't "mount" A320 engines on their A319. They chose the more powerful A319-115 version, yes, but thats flown by plenty airlines around the world, especially on High altitude airports, such as Tibet Airlines, American Airlines (for routes to eg Tegucigalpa), Avianca, Druk Air, Himalaya Airlines, and plenty more. Also most A319ACJ (Airbus corporate Jetliners) feature the more powerful engines.
Have a crack at SAS....great to see VV on your video...a funny man!! Great scenery and another great flight reviewer Noel Phillips posted almost the same trip a few days back. Trouble was he booked a "hotel"which turned out to be a caravan !! It was very funny !!! I was amazed that nearly 50 thousand people live there !! On my list when this mess is over !! Thanks Josh...stay safe and well mate !!
I’ve actually flown Atlantic Airways from Faroe to Bergen, after landing from an Iceland air Flight into Torshavn. The Landing into the Airport was actually very scary for me. We came in and had to do a VERY wide go around. When we approached, we were very fast and had a super strong tailwind, we touched down at an angle and used up the whole runway!. Don’t fly Iceland air into Torshavn!!! I was pleasantly surprised with Atlantic airways though. Short flight but they gave a nice coffee service with Cheese Danish and scones, and the flight was very scenic and nice (Trip Report Coming soon)
I've been into the Faroes ever since the Departures gang went there, this only makes me more interested. Does anyone know when Vicarious Voyageur will be back in action? I miss his offbeat videos.
There’s something about flights into the North Atlantic that take one’s breath away. I’ve flown Icelandair twice, once to Reykjavik and once to Frankfurt. The views are stunning. And speaking of Icelandair, when will you review them? As a disabled person with mobility issues, their flight and ground crews are amazing when it comes to getting disabled passengers on and off flights with efficiency and kindness.
i was there 5 year ago it was great i flew with SAS super expensive ticket haha and i dont like service on board free only coffee tea or water i asked for sparkling water i have to pay also cola not for free i stayed only in Torshavn for 3 days it was great public transport for free.i stayed at the hotel on the top of city with wonderful views i was lucky the whole 3days always blue sky in mid of July i would love to back there again to see more islands
Awesome video Josh! I love this place! I will add it to my bucket list. I particularly enjoyed the helicopter ride, the scenery and the desolation of this lovely place.
Josh your travel is so much excting for fr plane to helicopter before reaching the island..and the view is so much amazing...like it..this is evz from philippines...your subscriber!
Glad I found this one! Always wanted to fly to Faroes. Yes, 27000 lb thrust CFMs on A319s a lot of power, given some A320s have only 25000 ib thrust. One article stated that in certain conditions, only the local airline is able to operate there.
Hi Josh! Your latest vid is quite pleasantly surprising. I have heard of the Faroe Islands, only via reading, but have been nowhere near. Very interesting - i wish the vid were longer and you had some more time to explore the land (i do realize it’s not that kind of vlog). Were you on the job? I was just wondering cause it seemed too much to undertake the trip just on a whim. Although the Faroes are indeed very nice. Keel Smiling! and continue being cautious and safe! See ya!
Was für ein geniales, interessantes Video von Dir Josh, weiter so!!!!! SAS A350 und Air Senegal A330neo wären auch mal was zum fliegen...... ich freue mich
Dad would listen to the weather report each morning and in the shipping forecast they would go around the sectors of the UK. One of those mentioned was Faroes, high winds and not very nice. You were lucky with the weather.
@Josh Cahill Hello make a review on Sky Express Greece....ATR operatings and also there is a flight from Copenhagen to Iqaluit with Q100 of Air Greenland if i am not mistaken
Good to have you back with us Josh. Nothing changes - you’re peeing on the ground and doing a loo review in the air. Great review, I would love to visit the Faroe Islands. I always want their football team to win but they do well to take part at an International level.
Lovely vid, thanx Josh..Faroe Islands are definitely NOT on the Baltic sea but the north atlantic..you got a bit confused..And the capital is pronounced "Torshaun" although written Torshavn..Just like Danes pronounce Koebenhavn..(Koebenhaun)
Wow Josh, you're really livin' the dream! It seems to be a beautiful place to visit. Cheers to many more such reviews. By the way, that's such a cool fact to know at 13:01!
Loved today's video as it was really interesting and different from your other videos. Would like to see some more travel vlogs with your flight review. Good work 👍
Not sure what you meant by the most intense airline. However, it’s a very nice video and a beautiful place. Hope to visit it someday. Can’t wait to see more videos from this trip. Stay safe.
I flew SAS from Stockholm to London a few years ago and it was very egalitarian airline with no priority boarding. Perhaps it’s different for their intercontinental flights.
Hello josh thanks for your vidéo. I think it is an airline to take to discover those remote island in the Atlantic Ocean. EU citizen from France can fly there without visa, because I see they are not in the EU?
It's around about this time of year in the Faroe Islands that fishermen force dolphins into shallow waters & slit their throats & leave them to bleed to death. They 'only' managed to kill 500 this year (2022) last year it was 1000. There is no shortage of food here, they just kill them because they can.
Josh, you look so tired. Seen from your eyes, you don't seem to get enough sleep. I hope you get enough sleep and always take care of your health during the Covid-19 and always wash your hands and wear a mask wherever you go. Take care and I hope to see you in the sky. From Tokyo, Japan.
Landing into the Faroe Islands wouldn’t be a problem with a 767. A takeoff with it loaded would be the challenge. So its definitely very doable in an A320 :) 😊
Josh, thank you for taking a journey to this place never knew it was there Wow views. What language do they speak there? Wondering Josh have you ever been on Icelandic flights out of Iceland?

Can you fly on lot polish airlines ? This is will be really cool ! I would love to know what is your opinion of this airlines
I'm a fan of their football team. Even against European giants such as Germany or Italy, they keep the score very close.
Booked on Atlantic Airways in April but due to covid trip was cancelled. They were non refundable tickets. Atlantic Airways did the honourable thing of refunding 100% of the fare. Deeply impressed ans will fly with them in the future.
If it was cancelled legally they have to give a refund.
Non-refundable means if you cancel you don’t get a refund.
I’m from Faroe Islands! Cool to see all these videos about my country
Flying time is about half an hour (0:19)
