Even if it IS the same Captain Carter, this movie happens after they defeat Thanos, and in the TV series it ended around the time of Avengers/the 2nd Captain America movie. So, still plenty of story to explore in the TV series before she dies in this movie. But yeah, I think she's just another variant.
I was really upset when people said the movie don’t hold up to their “expectations” I think the movie was great! Scarlet witch being the villain is exactly what we needed to see how powerful and unstoppable she can be.
Seeing that people actually expected characters like Deadpool and ghost rider to be in the movie was absolutely ridiculous, people put too much faith in leaks.

It's a Dr Strange movie, not a wishlist movie. Fiege and company gave us WAY more than they had to in the cameo department. In fact I felt spoiled with how much they did give us. Fantastic movie, and I hope fans start appreciating it for how much THEY DID GIVE US, instead of complaining that you didn't get to see Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler for 30 seconds...such unrealistic expectations... its frustrating because I feel like a lot people don't appreciate how good of a movie this was, and a lot of people went to see it for the wrong reasons.
@@hairitzazani3600 I think because it didn’t have enough time, it became a bit of a mess. It tried to tell three narratives: Wanda accepting the “death” of her children, Dr. Strange moving past his fixation on Christine, and America Chavez coming into her own as a character. The only one that barely told its narrative in whole was Dr. Strange’s story. However, I don’t think Wanda’s and America’s narratives were told in full. Corners were cut in their story, so their endings didn’t feel as narratively earned.
Honestly I do wish Wanda vs illuminati was longer...BUT, despite that I do think it was easily one of the absolute best scenes in the MCU upto this point... especially demonic Wanda going into Prof. X's mind and snapping his neck was just damn also side note all the deaths were pretty brutal except capt marvel her death was just meh compared to capt carter freaking getting sliced up and mr fantastic getting shredded like wtf 😂

2 hours and 40 minutes is actually exactly how long I was hoping this movie would be. And I actually had no problem with anything we got, I loved it all. 616 Wanda was mad. So was the Doctor Strange who had the 3rd eye and had used the Darkhold. I think the trailers revealed too much so people expected even more.

I had some people laughing when Mordo said the word "Illuminati" in my theater. Had to remind myself that not everyone is familiar with some of the comic book stuff and that's okay. 🤣

One of my favorite things about the MCU is the cast and seeing them interact outside of the movies and I really wish we could see some of the Avengers' actors reactions to Wanda's Illuminati scene lmao.
I think the "didn't live up to expectations" part is because the trailers ended up working against the movie. When the trailers gave away SO MUCH, especially with how notoriously cautious Marvel usually is with their trailers, it made sense for people to think, "Well, if they're showing this much just in the previews, there must be SO MUCH MORE going on in the movie itself!" But there wasn't. For the first time in a long time, at least as far as I can remember, I saw a Marvel movie and felt underwhelmed precisely because I felt like I'd already seen it thanks to the trailers. I've never had that experience with any other MCU movie, even No Way Home, when we all went into it pretty well convinced we were going to get all three Spider-Man iterations in some capacity. The fact they were willing to give away so much in the trailers makes me suspect the studio was afraid the movie wouldn't be a knockout on its own merits.
I think the Illuminati could have been such a great surprise if Marvel chose not to show even Patrick’s voice cuz people would expect a lot of things even more after Illuminati is revealed in a trailer. And we did expect a lot. Giving us with like teaser clips every 12 hrs is enough of a spoiler. Marvel shouldn’t be doing much of it in the future. I mean. We will still watch so let those scenes be a surprise in the movie.
Just came out of the theatre. Just WOW. I gave it a 8/10. It definitely could have used some extra time, but holy shit was it a lot darker than I thought it be. AND THE john krasinski CAMEO🤯🤯🤯 NIPPLE CHILLSSSSSS!!!!
This is the the first MCU movie I didn't notice any homage to Stan Lee, the writers say the old man at the end in the coffee shop talking to MJ in Spider-Man No Way Home was that movie's homage. New Rockstars didn't mention anything for this one. Also I don't think there were any other cameos, that was already a lot! Whenever I recognize a new actor who joins a "recent" Marvel movie or an MCU movie, it's amazing to see the roster of Marvel actor/actress alumni grow. When they run into each other at events or awards, I always imagine them greeting each other with their Marvel names lol. So welcome Charlize Theron and John Krasinski to the club!! I wish Marvel has a grand union of actors/actresses down the road at some Marvel Studios Special (including Sony properties), like a Night Before the Secret Wars :-)))
Just got back from the theater and I understand Greg's criticisms now - I feel the same, but I'd give it a solid 8/10 just because of how different and gorgeous the horror-esque cinematography and direction was. That being said, it felt like Patrick Stewart was giving his performance while being held at gunpoint. I hope they'll give us a fresh set of X-Men soon and let Patrick, Hugh etc. take a well deserved break.
I wish in book of Vishanti's scene the dialogue will like this: Christine : "Shouldn't you say something to take book like that?" Strange: "Like what? klaatu barada nikto?"
When Strange and Chavez were breaking through the multiverse, one of the universes was cartoon. So I think that "What If" is an actual cartoon universe within the MCU multiverse
There could've been a lot of more cameos. Maybe if there was a uncut version of MOM. That's another Evil Dead reference in the Marvel universe dealing with variants, there's Bruce Campbell in the movie! Also, let there be mutants! Great job, Sam Raimi!
When I watched this in the cinema yesterday literally none made a noise, no cheering or clapping, compared to no way home and endgame where everyone cheered every time a character appeared.
If you playback Professor X's death in 0.25x speed, you can actually see that the Jaw and Skull were actually separated, with the neck snap. This is probably the most graphic thing I've seen in the MCU. Sure it's quick, but you could actually see everything XD. In fact a lot of things in this movie did push the boundaries in what they could do. I would've loved to see the original 2hr 46min cut. I probably would've given it a higher score tbh.
I'm happy you guys enjoyed it. After 6 years of waiting for a sequel hopefully it will be a great reward. I don't mind The Scarlet Witch being in this as long as the movie have equal screen time for Doctor Strange & Wanda. That's my biggest worry. But both of these characters are my top 3 favorite mcu superheros and to see more of them especially at their peak is so great. Wanda wasn't really explored until Wandavision came out. She was always a side character & doctor strange didn't get his own sequel until 6 years later. Hoping to see more of these two who I believe are carrying the mcu along with spiderman at the moment.
loved the movie in every way. ... ... only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was finding out I couldn't get one of the popcorn vessels, scalpers came out in force on this one 😢
I really loved this movie and even though my rating for it is an 8/10 it delivered what it promised. I really loved how dark the movie went as that's one step marvel hasn't taken and adding the horror genre into it. Had an amazing experience watching this in the cinemas
In Loki, He Who Remains talked about the Multiversal War and this movie not only mentioned the Incursions but also showed the ramification of what can happen if Variants fought each other (a near destruction of a universe). Can't imagine just how much the destruction of Multiversal War can cause when they show it on screen in the future.
anyone else notice in 2 separate occasions Strange summoned Monster like spells when he was fighting Gargantos and those Serpent like creatures while battling Wanda before getting thrown into the Star Gate to 838, gave me Sinister Strange vibes even before he used the Dark Hold
I could've used more Multiverse in this. The brief glimpses we got as they were falling through the portals, that was such a tease. Missed opportunities for some comedic moments in the weirder universes.
If Clea is showing up in the next film I hope we get a proper physical Dormammu appearance complete with the flaming head and giant purple trench coat. Just saying
That third eye from the darkhold is gonna piss off Mordo so much lmao, the darkhold is even more of a rule break than the book that the ancient one used for dark energy
Honestly spent the whole movie wondering how the hell are they going to stop this full blown powerful version of Wanda. I somewhat expected an epic magic battle between her and Strange towards the end but the way they stopped her by exposing the Scarlett Witch to her kids and hurting their mother was equally as satisfying! What an absolutely insane movie. 🔮
I don’t think it’s the same one. What if? Carter worked with her teammates and would not attack one on one. Also, she’s a guardian of the multiverse, I don’t see her walking away from that.
I know John and his wife didn't take the roles because of location or something along those lines but it is pretty cool fans got to see him as the character even if just for a moment. One could say John got to unwind a bit in the role Lol
It is Necessary ..I just got home from seeing it ..Wow ..and I jumped a few times ..& now in here .. I didn't hear what Krasinski said I saw it ..i. Was screaming ..and Captain Carter !!! .i hope she was in another Universe .and we get to see her like she was in what if ..Enjoyed the
Makes so much sense as to why they cut out so many cameos from this movie, there was definitely more. They are probably leaving this for Doctor Strange 3
@@icekingjn8195 My opinion is that your opinion is wrong lol, it's just an opinion like you said 🤣. Dr strange 2 better than endgame, no way home, civil war, infinity war? Wtf 😂
He is wrong about the 3rd eye. The 3rd eye represents the eye of agamotto. Not a curse nor an enhancement of his power. Eye of agamotto, basically allows him to see the soul of a certain individual ( comic power) but it could be different in the mcu movies. Ps: I hope scarlet witch will come back. They can't her off like that
I love this film one of my new favorite mcu films ever it the 10 out of 10 film I love the post credit scene I understand what the first means and the second one funny
It would be so cool if the revival of X-Men animated series coming our next year was about them searching for Professor X and at the end, they cross over to Earth 616.
Love the movie and Rami’s stamp on it. Had that Evil Dead feel to it with the zombies and evil ass Wanda. Hope other will watch it again with no expectations.
Why didn't Strange ask about Steve or Carol? He knows that Steve is the first avenger and carol was captain marvel. Just with his general sarcasm and questioning things.
You could totally handwave-retcon that one of Mysterio's writers had a dream of a reality where realities with number designations was a legit field of research, as in 838.
I seriously hope this doesn't mean that we won't get to see Krasinkis Mr fantastic in the MCU just cuz he died in another universe, but knowing Feigi he doesn't like using characters that already appeared in other movies
When they said the mcu was earth 616, some guy next to me said gosh damn it i thought they were earth 1, but i really wanted to say dude 616 is main cannon world
A correction: The first cut of the film was indeed 35 minutes longer, but as with every other “first” cuts, this was never going to be the final cut. Sam clearly intended final cut in theaters to be the real cut of the movie
Why isn't anyone pointing that Bruce in the last scene looked into the camera and said 'it's over'.....I immediately thought it was a Deadpool Easter egg
Idk how i feel about the MCU being earth 616, since the main Marvel Comics universe is also earth 616...soooo When they mentioned it in Far From Home, i just took it as a random number Beck made up when making his alternate universe hero story...but i guess not
It was just to avoid that confusion Marvel's Official Handbook released over 10 years ago, gave MCU the designation of Earth-199999. But now they named MCU 616 too for god knows what reason.
Tbh I feel like this was a great action movie... But a marvel one, I would have to give it a low ranking. It's weird because I never really go in with expectations but I guess I somehow thought I would be more "moved" by this movie. Also, I just felt like it was just a big irony (Dr. Strange does something, he is the hero, she does something, she is the enemy). Like he is cool with the third eye (that sinister strange had and Wong even questioned him like 🤨) and the scarlet witch is no more (I feel she was in the right calling strange a hypocrite)!? I don't want to go into more complaints because I'm trying to keep a more open perspective. So hopefully hearing everyone's theories and thoughts gives me a better understanding. Btw, this comment isn't to argue, this is just what I felt after watching it twice. And hold up lol: nope I wasn't expecting more cameos, I did think they would stay in other multiverses longer but then again it was a 2 hour movie so that's unrealistic. But I was shocked about how quick they introduced and killed off the illuminati! Am I bugging for how quick that was?🤷♀️

I mean. We will still watch so let those scenes be a surprise in the movie.
a point to notice Strange havent forgotten who spiderman is . This plot is noice
Can’t wait to rewatch this movie a million times.
Clea's appearance in the mid-credit scene who is Strange's love interest in the comics and I believe a niece of Dormammu made it even more crazier.
Tony Todd was gonna be the voice of dormammu originally also
@@CharlesH-t9r that would've have been good as well.
You guys are my definition of celebrities plus Erik and MT! Fuckin love yall man!
Both Captain Carter's are from different Earths, so the one in MoM is not the same from What If
I havent heard this a single time so ill say it… I thought this movie was a masterpiece
I rate it 7.5
@@jamesbuchananbarnesss I agree
Thank you! I thought it was amazing best movie we have gotten since endgame
I was about to comment this 👏🏽 👏🏽
@@awesomepossum46 I agree. It’s my favorite film ever since Endgame.
Broke my heart to see Wanda like that. I think we'll get another version of Wanda later, per multiverse..but OUR Wanda is gone.
I wish in book of Vishanti's scene the dialogue will like this:
Christine : "Shouldn't you say something to take book like that?"
Strange: "Like what? klaatu barada nikto?"
90s Xmen cartoon Prof. X was the highlight of my life when I watched it yesterday
Did you guys hear the 90s X-MEN animated show theme when professor x showed up in the film
So glad Charlize joined the MCU as a badass character!
Wtf are you talking about, she’s the villain of the movie 💀
In the current comic run, Strange died and Clea became the new Sorcerer Supreme (now of Earth and the Dark Dimension), which is wild.
I'm surprised that Greg and John didn't know about Clea, especially with her new role in the comics.
loved the movie in every way.
... ... only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was finding out I couldn't get one of the popcorn vessels, scalpers came out in force on this one 😢
The first thing I said coming out of theatre was "this is definitely a Ramie Flick."
I really loved this movie and even though my rating for it is an 8/10 it delivered what it promised. I really loved how dark the movie went as that's one step marvel hasn't taken and adding the horror genre into it. Had an amazing experience watching this in the cinemas
Tearing up john krasinski hurt me in my office vibes but loved seeing him lol
Blackbolt and Mr Fant were by far the coolest things to see in this movie!
Another amazing video
Since Franklin and valeria Richards were hinted at we should have got a future foundation suit for Reed
SO TRUE
I just went out of cinema and I really need some time to reflect on all of the crazy stuff😅👍🏻
I'm like 75% sure that Agents of Shield identified the universe as 616 before any of the others.
The greatest mcu movie...loved it.
Wouldn't go that far, multiverse of madness was like 8/10. The movie was slightly overhyped, but still good
@@Bobby_6930 my opinion...it was the best mcu movie I've seen. Your opinion is your opinion .. my opinion is what matters.
@@icekingjn8195 My opinion is that your opinion is wrong lol, it's just an opinion like you said 🤣. Dr strange 2 better than endgame, no way home, civil war, infinity war? Wtf 😂
@@Bobby_6930 yes yes it is...
@@icekingjn8195 Majority and I don't agree with you. Dr strange 2 is 8/10
Illuminati had a nice party with head popping, blue ribbons, lasers, frisbee throwing and cracking old men
I loved the part when Prof X does the meme from the animated show lol
i'm glad i live in a small town because i could hear every word of the movie LOL
Seen the film it was great 👍🏻 🔥
He is wrong about the 3rd eye. The 3rd eye represents the eye of agamotto. Not a curse nor an enhancement of his power. Eye of agamotto, basically allows him to see the soul of a certain individual ( comic power) but it could be different in the mcu movies.
Ps: I hope scarlet witch will come back. They can't her off like that
Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Cumberbatch absolutely killed it! They are acting geniuses
I love this film one of my new favorite mcu films ever it the 10 out of 10 film I love the post credit scene I understand what the first means and the second one funny
It would be so cool if the revival of X-Men animated series coming our next year was about them searching for Professor X and at the end, they cross over to Earth 616.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE, TURN IT UP
I seriously was the only one cheering in my theater when it was revealed that Maria was Captain Marvel , because she was the O.G Captain Marvel.
Im Sure this confirmed him since we all wanted him
When they said the mcu was earth 616, some guy next to me said gosh damn it i thought they were earth 1, but i really wanted to say dude 616 is main cannon world
Whatever you say about the movie i have seen some of the best scenes from mcu so far. I didn’t even think that they would go that brutal.
A correction: The first cut of the film was indeed 35 minutes longer, but as with every other “first” cuts, this was never going to be the final cut. Sam clearly intended final cut in theaters to be the real cut of the movie
Strange is now a 3 eyed raven. 😁
Why isn't anyone pointing that Bruce in the last scene looked into the camera and said 'it's over'.....I immediately thought it was a Deadpool Easter egg
The music fight 🎶 reminds me so much of Kung Fu Hustle
Wanda was so OP in this movie and murder everyone so brutally knowing she not here for talk
Everything that's happening in the MCU RN is all leading up to secret wars
Stop it no spoilers!!!! 😂 you guys keep coming on my recommend vids lmao
Me and my brother both love this movie 😍
I really don't get why so many people seem to hate it.
It's an 8/10 movie, definitely overhyped a bit, but not as bad as some people say either
So excited !!
Had no clue what that scene meant lmao when I first watched it.
i really hoped that you guys would film your reaction and just put some context to let us know what part of the film you're already in
Idk how i feel about the MCU being earth 616, since the main Marvel Comics universe is also earth 616...soooo
When they mentioned it in Far From Home, i just took it as a random number Beck made up when making his alternate universe hero story...but i guess not
It was just to avoid that confusion Marvel's Official Handbook released over 10 years ago, gave MCU the designation of Earth-199999. But now they named MCU 616 too for god knows what reason.
“Oh……it’s fuckin charlize theron” LMAO
Am I bugging for how quick that was?🤷♀️
No one in the movie were the What If characters. They're all from 838 universe (except the evil version of Strange, who is another universe variant).
