Great dude- Met Jason at Sturgis and of course bought a new 21 for the ole Road Toad and he took my stocker in trade. Coastal Moto are legit great folks. We forgot a package at the tent. Lookin good Mr Monkey One additional benefit to floating rotors is to combat " knock back " where the flexing of the rotor during load can push back the pad and caliper piston creating a small gap between rotor and pad that has to be taken up next brake application so it causes more lever travel to stop. Also, and this is purely an observation, it would seem you'd want a larger spacer on the axle so when tight,, the forks are not loaded ( pulled in ) but in a neutral state. I worry it may flex now under load a hit those button heads. Keep on making great content, I love it !
I wonder about that, but it seems the fact that the axle threads into the other side you don't Tighten it really, you set the gaps and put the pinch bolt in.
Hi Da Monk, like the new front wheel very nice. Definitely looks a lot better than the old one. They're a great company, you have always praised them up.
Since you had to loosen the axle because the forks pulled inward when the axle was tight, I would suggest that you remove the wheel. First measure the distance between the forks at the axle (without the wheel or axle installed). Write the dimension down. Next, take your old wheel and assemble it (off the bike) using all the hardware (spacers etc.) that was used when the wheel was mounted. Then measure the distance between the outside edges of the assembled wheel assembly (at the outside edges of the spacers). Write this dimension down. Then take the new wheel and assemble it (off the bike) using all the hardware (spacers etc.) that you used when the wheel was mounted. Once again measure the distance between the outside edges of the wheel spacers. Write that dimension down. Now compare the measurements of the wheels. If the measured distance between the outside edges of the spacers does not match you need new spacers. Look at the measured distance between the forks (at the axle). Your measurement of the wheel assembly should only be a few thousandths smaller than this dimension. If tightening the axle pulls the forks together noticeably, the forks will not function as well as they should, and will experience increased wear on the internal bushings (if the forks use replaceable bushings), or the fork body itself.
I appreciate it, but the issue here is that you don't "tighten" the axle on Hot legs. The axle threads into the other leg. the caliper went on to both rotors with zero effort and the pads are like brand new.
@@ProfessionalMonkey I found a install pdf from Ness calling for 55 ft lbs on the axle and 12 ft lbs on the pinch. Might be worth emailing them. Seems like that new wheel might need some different spacers.
Nice upgrade 👌 Bought my first Harley. Picking it up Saturday. 2005 FLSTFIAE Fat Boy. Got a few miles on it, but I'll get in tune with it then possibly upgrade next year
Hey Brother, if you ever gotta take the wheel off and gotta put it on, deflate the tire then it will pass those button head bolts. I had to do that to put my tire one without removing fender!

The rear was taken off and powder coated black so it could stay 16” aftermarkets are 18 and prevent the rear from dropping as much. The bags are a 4.5” stretch you REALLY can’t see the wheel.
Since your friends with ceo Advan Black...they make a dash for touring bikes but only the ones for 2020 older with hole in dash for gas cap. Please talk him into making them for 2021 and newer without the hole so we have an option for different dash as well. The one side gas cap tank on my 2021 road glide doesn't really have an option for different dash. Love the videos brother.

I used the shinko tires for years usually got 12,000 mi out of a rear and 22,000 out of the front used them on several different bikes great tire and never had any problems
Leave here in case anyone has similar concerns. Redemption springer fork. Uses dual ohlins basically coil overs as the springs. Also potentially an easy enough mod to do if you have any modding experience. Could probably also be done with dual shock absorbers for springer forks. Done yourself it might be possible to use some of the ohlins dampers/shocks that have rebound compression adjustment as well as ways to adjust how progressive it is. Then with spring changes you can tune the rest.
Hey Man I've used Shenko before found them to be a great tyre just didn't last but not as bad as the expensive Pirelli tyre's I've used before. The bike is looking so good. All the best from NZ 🇳🇿
Alot of pirelli tires are designed for more sport bike and racing type applications. High performance tires never last long. Think it's the McLaren f1(friends dad owns one) the tires time out after like a year or 2 even if no driving or less than the number of miles they're rated for even if just daily driving. The fuel tank as its a fuel cell times out every 5 years.
@@davemagee yeah pirelli makes really nice tires. Lol don't have my license but I've driven a few bikes, forget the model but the tire performance on my buddies ducati kinda made me lean towards those for my next project plan. Lol early bobber chopper style but with sport bike rims tires and brakes. Probably dual front disc's. Floating unless I make my springer fork mod work, gonna try and jam a modern damper or maybe even a coil over in place of a basic coil spring. Try and keep it from snapping up under braking and also function closer to a telescopic fork. Pirelli diablo 3s 240mm wide 17 inch rims. Need to find something in a 19 or a 21 that matches performance for a front though. Unless I find another 240 rear I like. They die after about 5000 miles but holy shit do they grip and speed rated for retarded top speeds.

But not exactly stock frame dimensions either.
Question not comment: I recently redid the front end on my 16 RGS. I bought the parts, and my local HD deal did the install. Part of that included Arlen Ness floating rotors. However, there isn't any play in the rotor system, should I be able to feel some give if I apply pressure?
What’s the chock that the CVO is using? I need one in my garage and haven’t found one I like or that fits my 2013 road glide front tire. Always too skinny.
No, this was because of the forks. Those forks are Arlen Ness and the fender mounting bolts thread in from the inside putting the bolt head in the way. If you have normal forks the bolts go in from the outside and don’t get in the way.
The back wheel is a 5 spoke powder coated black. I am not into not running matching wheels, but it's been powder coated to match and you can't see the wheel because of the stretched bags.
Shinko are the best for where I live. I’m in Okinawa and for the makeup of the pavement here it’s the stickiest tire here. But need to change very often. I guess it may boil down to that. Maybe the roads here are similar to Korea.
