I agree!!!! I’m a 3c natural and I havnt washed for 3 months now. But my hair has grown ALOT IN THOSE 3 months I ALSO HAVE MY HAIR IN TWISTS! I honestly agree with you when u said the less manipulation the more growth! I also believe it’s just shampoo In general it strips the hair atleast for my hair it does. It doesn’t matter if it’s sulfate free my hair gets tangled and matted. Btw your hair is gorgeous I love the way it looks naturally packed together when u ran your hands through it SO PRETTY 😊
This may sound GROSS but I haven’t washed my hair in 5 months and my hair has grown 6 inches, it’s insane! It went from not going beyond mid neck length (with shrinkage) FOR OVER 2 YEARS and without shrinkage it was underarm length, now it’s shoulder length with shrinkage and without shrinkage it reaches the bottom of my ribcage and SOOOO THICK!! in only 5 months! Not washing your hair for such long periods of time is game changing for length. My boyfriend keeps wondering how my hair got so long and THICK and I don’t want to tell him I haven’t washed it in months because I know he’s going to look at me sideways 😭
@@gmarie3053 This is a late response but try the Curl Peace line of products for detangling!! Their Tender Headed detangler is great! It's very moisturizing, you can leave it in and it makes comb outs so much easier! It contains marshmallow root which is good for detangling!
I'm african american. I grew my hair for 12 years natural. I would go up to 6 months without washing it on purpose to grow it long. I called it the leave it the f alone method lolol. The natural sebum was amazing for my hair. I just did a texlax with mizani butter blend and now my hair is like yours (I had 4z hair). I grew it 12 years on purpose knowing I was going to texlax. I did it because I despise the single strand knots I was getting they were insanely bad no matter what I did.

I have definitely gone 6 weeks to 8 weeks without washing. Like you I was able to get away with it, but it wasn't for the best. My hair tangles just by looking at it wrong, now imagine how it was after all that time, Christ... I am lucky I guess, I have no scalp issues and I don't sweat that heavy on my scalp, except at the hairline... I wash once a month generally...
I have wavy hair and I can go 3-4 weeks without washing my hair. I let the shower water hit my roots and then comb out my hair with water and a bit of oil to combat scalp buildup.
i wash my hair 2-3 times a week with water only (i have done since march) and my hair has never been healthier. it was pretty gross for a few weeks but i don’t think i’ll ever go back to my old hair routine!
Wow... I can't imagine not washing for even one month. But I guess I can forsee laziness with my 4b hair care routine when it gets long long. I mean bra strap length is long but doesn't 'feel' long. I also keep my hair in braids/twists (have been doing so for 8 months so far?). And yeah, it's no fun but I want long hair more than I want cute hairstyles anyway 🤷🏽♀️
Wow! I can’t even go two weeks before my scalp is itching so bad, screaming to be shampooed. I’ve often envied those that can go a couple of weeks, but two months...lol?? That’s a record. Your hair is very beautiful!!

I was thinking... a lot of places that grow out there hair don’t wash it often. They just moisturize and braid it up. After a certain amount of time they unbraid it them re moistures the hair then re braided it. Idk what they do for itching. I’m finna see how long I can go lol
I've noticed that too and that's why I've started doing it myself. Yeah itching is tricky. I would definitely recommend washing if scalp issues like itching and tenderness develop. Scalp issues have to be addressed before the hair in my opinion. Let me know how long you go:)
@@TheHabby the longest I went was 5 weeks lol it would have been more but my cousin threw a big spider at me and he aimed for my head. I’m not surprised because when I was relaxed I could go a year without washing my hair unless I was getting another relaxer. Ever since I went natural I been obsessed with washing my hair.
I'm doing just that but I spray my hair and scalp with aloe vera juice and when I wash it I do the black rice water rinse with the essential oils of mint and tea tree plus Jamaican black castor oil! I never had a lot of dandruff but after doing the black rice water rinse I don't have dandruff!

You’re right. I’m at bra strap right now (4c), and I see that the longer it gets, the harder it will be to take care of it.
When it comes to washing it try to do 4 or maybe 8 sections. I leave my hair in two twist and put a scarf over it when it durning the weekday.
