Had torn ligament and damaged cartilage removal surgery almost 3 months ago. Wore air cast boot and on wheelchair (full off weight bearing) 2 weeks after surgery for 2 months off. @@DrRobertJMooreIII you're a good man! I'm 44, in great shape like yourself, but have been looking at TRT more and more post 40! Here's another question - why, post-ORIF for malleolus fractures, uni, bi, tri), do all surgeons (worldwide) prescribe delayed weight bearing when the published research runs counter to this? Non union, fixation failure, etc are all extremely similar between early (or even immediate) weight bearing and delayed weight bearing. As I'm sure you know, the benefits of being able to continue to weight bear, even minimally, is huge. Happy to send details of the studies. Or take a look at the one currently running at Otago University Orthopaedics in NZ... I've been in correspondence with the CI of the study.
2 wks post op R ankle ORIF…I fell on it yesterday due to bad balance on the crutches. Besides the fantasitic children I have raised, my other difficult and prideful accomplishment was to say no to this with both pressure during football and friends offering it to me for free. Just eat your meals 3 hours apart like our species was designed to do, good food, higher protien levels, and stay lean. From studies on mice to the simple data availble for all homo sapiens, hit the weights and find a way to do it consistently. And if possible, find a way to have fun doing it like this old science geek did.
I've been in correspondence with the CI of the study.
im about to get surgery on my knee because the bone is a bit out of place and I'm scared.d
2 wks post op R ankle ORIF…I fell on it yesterday due to bad balance on the crutches. Told the surgeon today & he was only concerned with the stitches…if I took steps backwards with the fall yesterday would he have seen it upon examining my ankles? When they casted me I couldn’t bare to keep my foot flat & could only flex from the outside without sharp throbbing pain if I tried to flex the inner -mid part of my foot. Is this normal for 2 weeks out? This fracture was caused by my supinating foot on ice off of stairs for the context.
Did they x-ray it after you fell?
@@Bob31415 no, I wish they did. I get x-rays this Thursday
@@dominiquelewis Ok. Good luck. What do you mean by only being able to flex from the outside?
@@Bob31415 thank you! 25% flexion. I suppose thats normal for 2 wks out. I’m hitting the 5 wk mark. Definitely feels better.
I had lisfrank surgery and I'm growing more and more impatient on wanting to walk
Only 1 week post lisfranc surgery and I feel you. Hope your recovery is going well!
I broke my calcaneus in four pieces I had surgery last week it hurts so bad I’m nervous and I don’t know if it will ever heal completely I hope i can get back to normal.
How did you end up doing with recovery? I’m on my 5th day after surgery 🥺
@@aliciafranco4267 I’m doing a lot better now I’m finally out of the cast walking but I have to use a cane the doctor had to put screws in my foot and one of the screws might have to come out though because I’m having pain when doing mobility exercises.
@@aliciafranco4267 I hope u have a speedy recovery it’s definitely a life altering injury.
That Rhianna lov just won't let up
Fifth metatarsel broken years ago, had surgery recently to saw off excess bone growth, now doc told me tissue isn't cured completely and need to give it some more time, but I hope it's only tissue and nothing worse because it's been months since and pain still persists
New years broke ankle
Here I am not even at surgery yet
Dr moore how are you? You did a great repair on my wifes ankle. Thank you. Top notch guy.
Here I am, 2 days post Brostrom
Ain't started mine yup
Cute & knowledgable doctor.
You are lucky I break my ankle December 7th 2019 and I still waiting for walking my doctor say about three months it can be more time I don't know
I broke both my ankles on December 8th. Day after you. But I broke both of mine. I had surgery and was in the hospital 8 days then went in to a rehabilitation center for 5 weeks. Was in a boot for 2 months and this past Thursday my surgeon told me I could wear my own shoes. Well if hurts more now than 2 weeks ago. I have no more pain meds.
The length of time depends on the type of breakage and if any of your muscles or tendients were involved. I've been watching many other vids on broken ankles. Good Luck to you !
Kathy simon how are you now?
I broke both ankles Jan3. In boot with not weight bearing, is awful to put weight on heel or ball of foot. The shooting nerve pain,
I'm doing better
@@freetobememe4358 how are you feeling now? It's been 3 months. I just recently broke both also! Post 2 weeks surgery orif in a boot on one side... other is doing so good
I'm 5wks post-op ankle ligament reconstruction. Cast came off last week, I've had a moonboot since. Today, I had the boot off; crutch slipped and I stood on my foot for a moment to break my fall 😰 my foot's been aching painfully the past two hours! Will everything still be ok?? 😟 I've got physio tomorrow... should I skip the session or go? I'm thinking it might help having a professional assist after this silly accident 😣
Any update?
@@thespooktoberskeleton2540 Everything was fine. Went to physio the next day. Still in the moonboot now but walking without crutches #progress 🙏
why does he keep touching her where she clearly has said it hurts? She keeps saying things like, “Touching there hurts so so much” then he touches her there….
Dude my scar runs from 2 inches above my ankle all the way down to 1 inch above the base of the foot. Its been 3 weeks since surgery and my foot is swollen, purple. The doc that was removing my stitches was sweating bricks cause he couldnt see the string past all the swollen skin.
I wish my foot looked like this lady's.
That sounds awful. Any update? My doctor put in staples because he said stitches tend to get swallowed up in the folds of the skin at the back of the ankle, and they're hard to pull out. I hope everything went well for you.
Just had surgery yesterday. Left trimalleolar ankle fracture and I’m looking forward to recovery. ❤️🩹
How are you? How long does it take to heal after surgery? Im super scared.
I too had left trimalleolar ankle fracture and 2.5 hrs surgery on 31 Jan, now 6 weeks on 14th March, X-Ray will show progress of healing!!
I'm after a brostrom and artroscopy, need more videos like this ;) Thank you for posting
