Thank you for the detailed video. I have wanted to replace my leaking 1975 core but wasn't sure how to tackle it. After watching your video, I feel confident to proceed. I thought that the aftermarket heater core you bought might not have the correct tube angles, but I guess it worked for you. This video really helped. Thanks!
Carl thank you for taking the time for this video. Got a flat on my 1973 and then foggy windows and coolant all over my passenger footwell yesterday. At least I know what is needed for this job.
Thanks for posting...a very common failure without a step by step video I could find until now. I knew it would suck but at least I won't have to figure it all out as I'm changing mine..
Hi Carl, thanks for your video. I also live in SoCal and had my 76 heater core go out. I'm in the process of changing it out with the help of your video. Message me, it would be great to meet up sometime and talk Vettes.
The duct in question is around 18.32. Drop the steering column,2 bolts under column and 2 nuts at firewall. Pull out gauge panel as far as it will move and this will allow you access to the bolts on the bracket.
Video is misleading, the duct that was broken WILL NOT COME OUT UNLESS A BRACKET IS REMOVED BEHIND THE GUAGES. The reason it's broken is because somebody forced it out without removig. the bracket. I appreciate the effort of somebody taking the time to post these videos but get the information right.
Greetings… Let me know how many minutes into the video would be the best place to add a note explaining that the bracket needs to be removed and I’ll try to add such a note.
Damn never thought about your earthquakes because it shows ya what I take for granted when working on my cars.

Thanks for doing this video! I’m changing a core in a 78. I never though about the earthquake and the jack. Great safety step!
thanks for taking the time to make this video.i bought a 76 with the whole dash assy in parts, this will help me a lot.
Gotta do that to my 74. I'm waiting until I have all my new A/C stuff and do it all at once.
Geez, I live in MI, I had NEVER thought about an earthquake while working on a car with jack stands...That's a pretty good safety tip!
Great video. Thanks for all the details!

My 81 H.C. is still original (original owner here) not looking forward to that heater core job > > > and I rebuilt my own automatic transmission.
