      I honestly dont know if they will let him step down. At this point they know they are going to lose the next election. To throw a new leader in at this point would just start them off as leader of the party with a loss.

      @dpen653 Well as Percy Downs said they have a very short window to make that decision. The problem is there isnt another liberal likeable enough to turn the tide of anti liberal sentiment in the country right now. A new leader would new a whole new approach so it would be a giant step to center in hopes of winning. That may disillusion more voters who go to the NDP leaving them as 3rd party

If members of the Liberals arent happy then they need to start voting against the party. Today should be interesting. Are all the liberals going to vote with Trudeau or are some of them going to stand up and vote against the carbon tax on home heating?

    The primary goal for the Liberals should be to replace Trudeau with anyone willing to take on the job who might be willing to restart the rebuilding of the party. They will be destroyed in the next election (rightfully so after their sustained destruction of Canada) and will need some very serious changes if they want to remain relevant in Canadian politics.

      Tbf, having Trudeau at the helm doesn’t help. He’s so unpopular right now that it’s practically a given that replacing him as party leader would help the LPC to keep at least a _few_ more seats than they’re currently projected to get in 2025. Still unlikely they would win, even if they formed another coalition with the LDP, but pretty soon they’re gonna realize that, and they’ll have to refocus their efforts on salvaging as much as they can before they’re out of power, which I’m certain necessitates booting Trudeau.
