Iron workers installing nelson studs on April 6, 2024.
Gordie Howe International Bridge is a six lane bridge with a width that accommodates future expansion to eight lanes, while still including a pedestrian trail. It will be the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America and will also set the world record for longest composite steel and concrete cable-stayed bridge deck in the world.

The structural engineering in bridge building today is amazing. Iron workers keep excelling in their trade.
I can't wait for your video that shows the two sides being joined. That will be SOOO cool!
Really got to hand it to those guys on both sides of the river. I sit here and marvel at their work. Great video persective. Looks like fishing must be good on the river as well.
They’re doing a great job!
That is interesting to watch because I was a iron worker out of local 25. I'm retired now but it was fun. Dallas Daniels.
Thank you for watching!
Wish I knew about this Job when I was in high school! Damn you guidance counselor!!
Yeah me too!
You all are very brave to do this job Glad to see the safery line hookups stay safe !
Fantastic video Michael.
Thank you William!
Closer & closer!! Great work to them and to you!
Thank you!
Looks like each side has 3 more sections left, after they complete this current one, then the customed-made girders to connect the 2 sides and fill in the final gap, the end is near!
Any idea where the girders are fabricated? Many holes to drill.
@@Mike44460 In Canada.
Great video. Great skill by all the workers.
Thank you Terry!

Nice. 👍👍
Thanks for watching, Blueman!

While I love these videos I sometimes worry a bit about whether the drone being close could distract workers when they're moving between somewhat precarious positions. I know they have harnesses ... but I don't think I want to see them tested. Isak - a drone operator in iceland - gets some spectacular footage from quite a considerable distance. Maybe the drone is further away than it seems?
He must have some kind of special permission to film there. I don't think they would let anyone fly an unauthorized drone like that considering the security concerns about these types of projects.
Canadians have installed their final piece this section is short to fit the keystone segment which will be installed in six weeks.
Ok I have a question, the river is so clean, as apposed to others, why is that ?
Good question!
Get the golden spike ready ! 😂 lol
Thank you for watching, Robert!
What kind of hoops did you have to go through to be able to take all these videos, getting so close and such ?
Thanks for watching the video!
This is not a walk in the park!!!
That’s for sure!😊
Impressive
Thank you for watching!
Installation of suspension cable plz!
