  • With the fortified town set up and running, the only thing that he needs is a safe, secure place to grow a ton of crops, and Abernathy Farm is well suited.
    It's close enough to the Red Rocket depot that transferring the workbench contents won't take too long, it's fairly well isolated and not near any raider hideouts, and if the settlers don't blab about it to strangers, it should be fine.
    Thanks for watching.

    (10:25) First siren you've built? Oh, so much fun you can have with a siren. It only sends power when active, so you can create a secondary power circuit that only activates during an attack. With a few logic gates, you can have the settlement go into "defense mode" when the siren activates: entrances close, mines are deployed, traps become active, and Minutemen signal flares fire.

      Lord Runolfr Ulfsson logic gates look scary lol I haven't even tried messing with them. I want to learn though.

      Yeah, I don't use the "advanced" electronics mostly because I have the worst time figuring them out, but secondarily that type of stuff really doesn't "fit" with the kinds of scrappy stuff I build. I can barely justify missile turrets and advanced generators as it is. ;)

    The second spawn point you mention at 2:45 made wince just a little. When I first got the farm, I built a large dormitory style building at that location that holds 30 beds and my vendors. I built the structure so that the front part is level with the ground and the back section because of the downward slope is supported by raised stilts. Whenever there is an attack and so far its either been gunners or raiders, 2 or 3 of them will get trapped in the maze of stilts underneath and I can easily shoot them from a distance. I installed 2 heavy turrets on the inside just in case some of them actually spawned inside. Sure enough during the next attack 4 of them spawned inside, but those 2 turrets and my 3 vendors who had laser rifles as powerful as Righteous Authority made short work of them. I also created a robot that has a gatling laser on one arm and a nuka cola quantum launcher on the other as a guard.

    I love how well thought out this build is! Execution is excellent! I’m still working with a few ideas about certain aspects, which tends to lead to trial and error to figure out if I can actually get close to what think will work. Sometimes I get there… sometimes I don’t. But for the majority of the time, it comes out pretty good. I haven’t caught any of your recent vids. I’ve been having new gameplay issues, such as not being able to fast travel, so less building and more walking back and forth across the commonwealth. I’m considering uninstalling and starting fresh… really would love to not have do that… but I don’t know how to mitigate the situation.

    Very cool again!! (= I am impressed that you could build a few Turrets with Immersive Gameplay. I gave it up, the second i saw how much Ammo you need thihi^^ It's cool that you changed not very much, just build up what they have and in they're "Style". That makes it very believable. Especially the Bar and Connies (i am a ConnY hehe, strange to hear my Name in a Game XD) little Shop are special

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 лет назад +1

      Honestly the ammo's easier to get than I expected... I didn't have turrets for a really long time but by just playing and clearing locations and taking nothing but ammo it piles up suitably quick. Right now at L29 he's got something like 8k rounds of the big-turret ammo because I don't use it any more--I'm only usin .50 and fusion cells. I _love_ energy weapons in this mod.
      And steal away--that's what this stuff is here for. ;)

    some people think this might be cheaty, but given the terrible nature of building in this game (specifically junk fences made me do this, with all the gaps between them if you dont) if you type tcl into the command thing with ` to go into no clipping mode (you can float and stuff) any items you place or pick up and then tab so they go back will be invisible so you can place stuff inside of them, then as soon as you type tcl again to exit no clip mode yourself they go back to normal. useful for junk fences, and i also use it to stack multiple water pumps on eachother so you can get more water without having a bunch of ugly water pumps sitting around when you dont have access to a stream or something. maybe this will help you, i dont use it for anything other than aesthetic reasons but some people may not have that much self control but, anyway i thought this might interest you as you seem to enjoy building almost as much as i do.

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  5 лет назад

      Not cheaty at all--if the tools are there, they're there to be used. I'm on XB1 so I don't have access to the console, though. ;)

    Anyone know if the missile turrets damage / kill settlers? Always miss the action when settlement is attacked and or didn't know my settlers well enough to know if they were M.I.A. Thanks for the videos!

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  4 года назад +1

      Settlers can be killed by explosive turrets but it's rare. When they get close to death they do that sit-down move, and when they do enemies will immediately ignore them, but if splash damage from explosives hit them when they're down (or they're on fire when they go down), it'll kill 'em.
      If a settler dies during an attack, though, you'll know it since the Happiness will drop by 20 almost immediately. Takes about a game week to recover.

    • @jeliarra
      @jeliarra 4 года назад

      @@SarDeliac Sincere thank you for the info. I have been trying to figure WHY the happiness dropped so much when the spoiled, pampered twits have more than enough in every settlement, now I know why. Only been playing the game 5 some years, think I would know these things by now.
      Been meaning to ask you, a challenge if you will: The museum Preston and other 4 in Concord. That building, when first walking in there is a set of steps (4 or 5 steps?) to the next level. Well how to build multi 3/4 level inside a building with vanilla or mostly vanilla building parts?
      One can make it look fine inside, but the outside of the building, (sigh) the wall will be too short or too tall. Irritatingly, Beth has many buildings in game that have multi levels inside a building (house) that can not be duplicated by us, even with mods.
      Thanks so much for your videos! They are extremely helpful!

    Question for you concerning the immersion mod ; where do you get your purified water? Strickly from empty bottles and a water pump or does your settlement produces some? Even though i have 36 water and 10 settlers at sancturary, im not getting any purified water in my workshop. Thnx again!

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 лет назад

      I get them from the pumps; every 3-water pump dumps 18 purified in the workbench every day. Haven't had a problem yet with water generation. Check to make sure you don't have any dirty water in the workbench; that can block production, and the mod doesn't use dirty water for anything I've seen yet.

    Haven't played much FO4 at all recently, and never got around to implementing the whole feeder/depot settlement thing - in fact I forgot the rationale behind it ;) I checked your playlists but can't find the vid where you break it down. Do you remember off the top of your head?
    I seem to have managed ok in survival without it, but if I'm gonna try this mod it could probably help to be aware of.

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 лет назад +2

      The strategy is straightforward: settlements with zero population never get attacked. I put all the crap I scav in zero-pop workbenches to ensure I will never lose anything valuable. If a feeder gets attacked and fails I don't lose anything I care about, and by transferring the workbench contents from the feeders to the depots from time to time, I'll always have a huge supply of food and water that I'll never lose.
      The full rationale is in S&S 16 (with maps!) and it starts here: ruclips.net/video/mcb7ovwq5hQ/видео.html

    How can I make my guards stay at their defender posts? Is it apart of the immersive gameplay mod?

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  5 лет назад +1

      No, it's doable in the base game. To keep guards from moving around, only give them one station. They'll self-assign to up to three of them if there are extras around, and they'll wander around if they do... but if you have one guard per station, they'll never move. It's how I keep new settlers in one place when I'm building--when the beacon summons a new one, I build a guard station and assign 'em to it so when I want to put them on something else later, I don't have to chase them around. ;)

    So Sar the different of this mod in survival is wall and clever placement of guard and turret actually mean some thing ?? It a direct opposite of the Base game nice

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 лет назад

      It means more than it does in the base game, yeah, especially when you go to help defend an attack yourself, but that's partly a small change in the AI and mostly the fact that enemies bring overwhelming numbers to the party. It's one thing to have a couple missile turrets chop down maybe a dozen attackers with raggedy gear, but when you triple the number of attackers and give them top-notch weapons and armor, things get a bit more... interesting.

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 лет назад +2

      Like survival, it's brutal until you get a feel for how things work, and even now I have to be _way_ more cautious pretty much all the time, but once you get used to it (and get your Perception up to the point where your VATS percentages are nice and high) it's not bad at all. I've only died twice in the last three days, and both times it was due to a mistake I made--once I forgot to check for mines, and the other time I got overly ambitious in Hallucigen and an Assaultron decided to make an example of me. :P

    You give your guards HEAVY combat armor? What armor does your character use?!

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, I give them the heaviest armor and biggest guns I can find so it takes longer to knock them down in combat. And since they're NPCs, they have the NPC damage multiplier in survival. Even a handful of settlers with miniguns can wreck stuff in a hurry, as long as they ain't fightin 30 raiders at once, anyway.
      My favorite armor is Sturdy Combat Armor. It's got the best balance for me in terms of protection vs. weight.

    • @thiccboi7427
      @thiccboi7427 6 лет назад +1

      SarDeliac same here! I use sturdy combat armor since I don't have a full set of heavy.I give my guards the regular combat armor because I don't have any mods like the immersive mod. I play Vanilla fallout 4. Sometimes I wish I have mods so I can build these awesome settlements like you though. Keep up the good work sar!
