Fascinating that one of the most painful and extreme surgeries out there is still considered worth it by so many short men. Goes to show the psychological strain that being short puts on ones life.
I'm personally considering getting 6cm femur surgery (for cosmetic reasons) done at the Paley institute sometime hopefully within the next 5-10 years when I have the funds (or it becomes cheaper (which I dont see as likely)).
I'm not on the fence with my decision because of it being worth it (I'm almost certain it is), going from 5ft8 to 5ft11 with lifts is like entering into a different universe for me (socially, at least). It's a positive feedback loop, I feel more confident, people naturally respect me more, I get more attention, I become more confident...
I'm more concerned about proportions, possible complications and judgement from family.

      I’m 6’3 and I think it’s about perfect tbh…

I think height sorta peaks around 6’2-6’4 for men in western countries (maybe Netherlands is where 6’6 would be better?)
      I wouldn’t do LL at 6’0…

      @sowaveysuyat 7 месяцев назад

@@bhars3273 That is an absolute assumption, not every man has an urge to be taller.. nor could you ever prove that statement. Matter of fact, citing NBA players who are likely really confident in who they are because they've reached a level of success that they can fall back on, they are less likely to need to compensate about their appearance or things that are out of their control.
Being taller than another doesn't guarantee success, doesn't guarantee confidence, doesn't guarantee women, doesn't guarantee anything... I understand the perception of shorter men, but being taller myself, I can assure you - its not reality, not everything is sunshine and rainbows because I'm taller than some people.
Really, what this comes down to is self-worth... my life would be miserable if I focus on all the other men taller than me, the NBA tall dudes and my inability to be as tall as them.
Short men say they've been bullied? Well who is to assume taller men haven't? Tall men typically grow up skinner, lankier and also get picked on. But AGAIN, this comes down to self-worth, its either allowed to affect you, or it doesn't.. or a man finally reaches a point of acceptance to build that true self worth internally.
Everything externally is projected from internal. Period. Everything out there is an illusion. Knowing beauty standards are a pretentious, superficial, FAKE ideal, one can easily brush that aside to own who they are themselves.. there are countless unlimited examples of people breaking the mold, breaking the "standard"... because again, its all an illusion, it all depends on how you allow the world to affect you.
But I get it, I know how it feels to some regard.. I got a hair transplant due to MPB.. the world has an external effect on men with baldness, but ultimately its something I needed to do for myself no matter what everyone else says. Mind you its not the same risk as limb extension.. But yeah, it did help me internally for my own sake. So it all depends.. I guess.
Sorry if this message is long. I just see alot of dudes mad that they can't get girls because they aren't tall.. I just wish I could tell you height isn't a magical pill that solves all those problems. Women really don't care about your height if everything else isn't there in the first place; confidence, aura, self-worth, charm, etc.. they really don't give a fuck... trust me.

Still worth it IMO, just do like 6cm on femurs so you stand a bit over 6ft and it's fairly easy to recover from. And who cares about arms being slightly short? No one looks at that or judges you by it, only your height. Ratios mean nothing unless they're so insanely out of proportion as to be comical, but a few inches isn't even noticeable when you're wearing clothing (which masks your figure/proportions to a large extent).

@@thomass07. MUCH easier, from everything I've read; 8cm is generally regarded as the maximum "safe" lengthening amount (although many do a bit more and recover alright), but 6cm generally seems to be a very easy ride as far as recovery on the femurs. Even 7cm would be pretty smooth recovery. 8cm is pushing it though, and I've seen a lot of lengthening patients say the pain from stretching muscles, tendons, and other soft tissue started for them between 6cm and 7cm, so if you only did 6-7cm you would probably avoid most of the lengthening-related pain as well as recover much more quickly (depending on your individual physiology of course). I myself plan to shoot for 7.5cm to _maybe_ 7.8cm on the high end, but I won't push it all the way to 8cm as I want to recover more quickly and retain as much athleticism as possible. I am not a doctor however, so definitely do your own research.

The taller you are the longer your bones are to start out; some people may think this means you have more lengthening potential but the reality is it means you have less; since your bones will be even longer after surgery meaning more counter leverage to overcome and recovery will be more difficult than had a short person lengthened their shorter bone the same amount.

If you want a weightbearing nail you kinda have to do it in Germany because it's the only clinic as far as I know that offers it, and since they use a patented method you have to pay much more, 82k for femur and 91k for tibia.

If i may ask, how old were you when you had the procedure?
I wonder if there's an optimal age bracket for someone to consider this procedure? due to the bodies ability to build & maintain bone density, and if after a certain point it might become riskier, mostly curious because i've heard infomation from MMA sports such as muay thai, that after 30 your ability to build super strong shins becomes near impossible

read up on some studies, the number of people who end up with permanent nerve damage is astonishing, even mroe astonishing than the amount of people who want this procedure without being aware of the high chance of permanent nerve damage.

    • @Cyborg4Life

Nerves are at risk. hence good surgeons to lengthen slowly to avoid damage and the such. But you're right at some clinics it's a disaster others it's not a concern

@@stefanvoigt6983 I personally don't trust those guys they have a lot of videos about how spectacular their service is but they don't follow up on a lot of people and it makes me wonder how wrong things went in those cases.
For example last year or two they had a huge story they were all excited to talk about and show his progress a 5'11 super strong body builder who was pretty much strongman-level strength who got surgery up to 6'6. He was excited showing the world his new height saying he couldn't wait to start weight lifting again and all of a sudden his online profiles disappear and live life taller has no more follow up stories about him like he doesn't exist. Lengthing his height so much and being such a top-heavy guy standing on toothpick legs with no muscle from all the surgery downtime I feel as though he may be having major problems and that's really sad to think about.

Share your studies with us. As with any surgery, there’s always a possibility of complications. However, avoiding risks entirely isn’t realistic-just like you can’t expect to avoid car accidents if you drive. Risk is a part of life.
Your comment is hard to believe because the number of people who have undergone this surgery worldwide is likely still in the hundreds, not thousands. While a few cases of nerve damage might exist, it’s far from “astonishing,” as you claimed. As for “permanent nerve damage,” I’m not sure where this information is coming from. Unless a main nerve is completely severed, which is highly unlikely when done by a trained surgeon, permanent damage is rare. It's as unlikely as you saying a mechanic unintentionally cut the gas line while working on a car engine.
There can be minor nerve injuries due to cutting through flesh, but most surgeons are trained to avoid major nerves. Over time, nerves typically heal themselves-it might take a couple of years, but they do recover. Furthermore, there hasn’t been enough long-term research to definitively establish what’s “permanent” in this context. This surgery has only been somewhat mainstream for about ten years.

I recall you mentioning in another video that you think a new 3rd type of nail is coming out soon, like Precise 2 but with far more weight bearing potential? I've looked it up and found next to nothing, do you know something about it? I think one of your comments said it was supposed to be utilized sometime this year?

    • @PersonOnEarth

Weight bearing nail seems counter-productive to me and inviting more risks. You don't want to overstress developing bone and keep fracturing it as it keeps trying to heal. Only the bare minimum stress to stimulate maximum blood flow for growth and recovery is what you want.
