    I had a 1996 Jaguar Vanden Plas . I drove it for 15 years in Arizona, USA with 10X30 Full Syntheic Titanium engine oil. The engine lasted to 340,000.00 miles, before I donated the car. That engine never failed and that car was my daily driver. Now my weekend 1995 Jaguar Vanden Plas has 170,000.00 miles on the engine. I am still driving it with 10X30 Full Syntheic Titanium engine oil. My daily driver, a 1995 Jaguar Xj6 has 95,000.00 miles and the engine is also driven with 10X30 Full Synthetic oil. I never had any issues with those engines using synthetic oil. My transmission and rear differentials are also driven with Castrol products. I never used convectional oil in my engines as in Arizona temps go between 110F to 112F. Still at that heat the engines work great. No issues whatsoever. Yes. I do work on my 2 Jaguars all by myself and I can attest to the quality of the product. To add: I change my engine oil in the Spring time and late Summer, at 5000 miles interval, using Bosh filter. The same with the transmission oil on the Jags. I change it twice a year without touching the filter inside the oil pan. Replacing the oil frequently on the transmission (transmission pan only) does not damage the transmission at all. It keeps the filter clean and the magnets inside the oil pan with less sludge. Also, with the Bosh Filter I can go up to 2 oil changes prior to replacing it. Max miles on Bosh filter with 2 oil changes 10,000.00 miles.

    Castrol uses inferior group 3 base oil in their full synthetic oils. Other brands use goup 4 base oil which are PAO that are superior to Castrol offerings. That's the reason castrol oil are cheaper than the competition.

      That is true, but somehow in Sweden Castrol is the most expensive oil. The mechanic even overcharges you on a simple oil change. Mostly I do my own oil changes.

      Castrol is the MOST expensive in S.America. (Made in Belgium) It's all swings and roundabouts. Smoke and mirrors.
      I bought 12 litres Castrol Synth 5W30...... today...almost 40% dearer than a Brazilian 5W30 Non-Synth.
      But I have more confidence in the Castrol product. ....Better publicity? Who really knows?
      The debate rages on!

    Why Do Castrol Edge Don't Print How Much Synthetic Percentage They Use In Their Oil
    I Am Big Fan Of Castrol Brand But I Am Not Sure About How Much Percentage Synthetic Technology You Use Your Oil
    Compair To Others Engine Oil Brands They Print 💯% Synthetic Engine oil

    As a layman mineral oil 4000km
    Semi 7000
    Fully synthetic 10000
    Is this right approach ? I mean if we follow these numbers for changing oil then the aspect of engine wear is similar for all types or still synthetic is best option ?
    Also older car like Benz year 2003 surely have some oil leaks and burning oil this reducing oil even before the 4 or 7 or 10 k limit thus needing to top up oil. So if we use mineral oil and change every 4000 km .. is it perfect approach ?

    Do you know that the additives in new engine oil sink to the bottom of the container?? Two semi synthetic motorcycle oils I checked had. Neither was Castrol though, one American, one European starting with S.

    Is Castrol better than the manufacturer recommended Toyota oil for my Toyota Auris? and will my engine last longer?

    • @Castrol_UK
      @Castrol_UK  2 года назад

      Thank you for the question! We always recommend following the manufacturer's suggestion and checking the owner's manual before making any purchase. This way, you can be sure that the car will perform at its maximum capacity.

      Hi, Jen Matt! Thanks for your question.
      There isn't a general "better" oil as it all depends on your vehicle's engine.
      If you need to check which oil is advised for your engine, we recommend using our Oil Finder. Link below:

    What a load of bollocks. Google Castrol vs. Exxon lawsuit where Castrol bastardized the meaning of the word synthetic to apply to highly processed mineral oil. Now you know Castrol doesn’t really use PAO.

    quick question, what's the difference between Castrol Edge 0W-20 LL IV & Castrol Edge professional 0W-20 LL IV FE? Is it the same oil and can be used interchangeably?

    • @Castrol_UK
      @Castrol_UK  Год назад

      Hi Gus Wind. Thank you for your enquiry. Castrol Edge Professional was introduced exclusive for franchised official dealerships. The formulations are also developed for first fill/factory fill in car manufacturing. The Castrol Edge product line is for aftermarket/retail. These products carry more OEM specifications and are more widely used, also in multi branded /independent workshops.

      Yes, Agus. As I said above, Castrol EDGE is our retail range while Castrol EDGE Professional is our workshop range, but both lubricants are similar in formulation and approval. Hope this helps. 😁

      There is no 100% synthetic oil as it all stems from mineral however in my experience it is a better option
