Drive the Maroochy Part 5

  • This is the 5th episode in this series where we drive along the path of the Maroochy river on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. We started at the source up in the Blackall Range in behind Yandina, and track its flow down to the coast and find waterfalls, swimming spots, and some history and tales along the way.
    This episode gets us right to the mouth of the river after we check out the Yandina Creek Wetlands where we have an encounter with wildlife and get eaten alive.
    Join us as we conclude our road trip along the Maroochy River.

    I remember walking from Cotton Tree to Pincussion Is. There used to be a boardwalk. My mates Dad used to tell us the river mouth was north of the Island in the fifties but we couldn't imagine it, then in the early 2000's the river mouth once again pushed through on the southern side and no matter how much certain individuals tried they couldn't change it back. Mother nature will have her way.

      Yes it’s a bit like the Bribie passage changing all the time over the centuries.
