    Cool compilation, Chris! Bush pig of an edit, I reckon. It was great to see the mix of footage that I have and haven’t seen. Lovely production! Great zoom work in the still. Nicely done! Love the smooching at the end. ;) Cheers guys!

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 года назад +1

      It took me so long to put it all together.... so many different pieces of footage from so many different trips. Some even going back 10 years!
      Yes I still have some footage that hasn't been seen - I notice that sometimes too.
      The zoom in on the still is an automatic button in Resolve - one click and it's done!
      Haha you caught that smooching did you - I though it was covered up by the end screen clickable box....LOL

      @@AquariusTraveller Great work, Chris! I caught that PDA. 😜 We’re different in that I dump my rubbish footage as I go.
      Kudos on the edit! I saw all the work “in the chair”. 😉🥂

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 года назад +1

      @@nategordon I do delete some rubbish footage, but if I think I can use it later - I will keep it!
      I guess sometimes I will take 5 mins of footage and only use 1 min of it - I guess this is when I can use different portions of it, for different edits!
      Not many see the work you put in to edit it all together - I'm happy that someone can tell :)
      Cheer nate and always love your support.

    Wow you have compiled so much amazing footage in this video. It's like a highlight real of all your recent adventures. No reason this video shouldn't be blowing up already!
    We would happily do every single one of the things in this video, but I think our favorites would be Magnetic Island, as it looks like it has some great beach and hiking opportunities. We would love to do the waterfall circuit as well.

    • @AquariusTraveller

      It has been an amazing time over the past 18 months exploring our state and yes, I managed to compile a decent list together. There were some thing I left out though... only because I didn't have much Good footage.
      You would love magnetic island and the waterfall circuit...but the Whitsundays are a must do as well. I have to mention it but we limit video footage or photos... I probably don't highlight it as much 👍

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 года назад

      This video is definitely doing better than some of my recent ones...I do well on search with most if my others and I think this one will be the same 👍
      I also get a lot of views though my blog too and that increasing all the time ...especially over the holiday period

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation 2 года назад

      @@AquariusTraveller that's great. We get most of our views through search too, but every now and then RUclips pushes one in browse or suggested. Really hoping once we finally reach the other side of the pandemic that they'll start pushing a lot more travel related content!

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 года назад

      @@Explorcation I get about 10 to 20% of views through browse or suggested...but still waiting for any of my videos to get a big push. ....hopefully one day.
      You guys have done really well with suggested or browse...I see some get a big push. Curious though...what's the retention percentage on those after getting a push ?

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation 2 года назад

      @@AquariusTraveller yeah we've had a few get pretty decent pushes, but as you would expect, it does bring your retention down as it gets sent out to a wider variety of people. The videos that we've got the biggest pushes on started at around 50% retention and ended up around 30% by the time the push was over.

      It was a long one and took about 3 days to compile together...I hope it does well. Like I said it seems to be requested a lot through other avenues, so thought it might be a good video to do - Since I have seen so much along the coast.
      I did leave a few things out due to footage - Paronella Park, Josephine Falls...There was only so many photos I could add in and didn't want to bore people....LOL
      I will have to do more videoing in North Queensland one day !

    Great video, would you say this trip is worthwhile in mid December?

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 года назад

      Hey Shaun... thanks a bunch for the comment. December would be great for warmer weather and plenty of great swimming spots.
      Two downsides I can think of would be school holidays and twice as many people on the road. Plus the summer is starting to get more rain.... but not as much rain as January to March.
      Although more rain would be better waterfalls ... so it's a tough call 👍👍

    We are planning our trip up the east coast of Australia in November and realized that a lot of the area/water will have the Irukandji jelly fish so is limiting our ability to go in the water. Do you recommend alternatives to see the reef besides snorkeling?

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  Год назад

      November is only really start of the jelly fish season and only Airlie beach to cairns is where you need to be concerned.
      There are still plenty if things to do but would depend on the city your talking about... reply and I can let you know 😁. However, all the tours boats that snorkel the reef at that time will provide lycra suits to prevent stings..... many people will still do it.
      Where are you coming from ?

  • @justinharleyboks1050
    @justinharleyboks1050 9 месяцев назад

    Hey there, im going from tassie to cairns between late November till mid jan is when i have to get back on the boat. What would you say is tye realistic amount of time to travel from Brisbane to cairns? And then back as well I guess

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  9 месяцев назад +1

      I would say an average of 10 days to 2 weeks, but I sometimes think longer depending on what you want to do and what your into.
      Some people just like hanging out in camping spots and seeing a few free things along the way. Where as I love doing the popular places, islands and the hidden gems.
      Based on what you saw in this video - What do you want to see and do you have a 4WD?
      Don't forget to check out my Brisbane to Airlie video posted in the last couple of months. Updated footage and mentions other stops :)

    • @justinharleyboks1050

      @@AquariusTraveller hmm maybe I won't be able to make it all the way this time then. I rather not rush it because I've seen way too many people try to attempt to rush trips and not really enjoyed them.
      I've only got an xtrail which I wouldn't call the best 4wd in the world.
      The main reasons I wanted to get to cairns was really to see the great barrier reef, daintree forest and see the city life there. But I'm thinking I may have to leave it for another trip.
      I'll have a look at your other video as well, thanks!

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@justinharleyboks1050 you don't need a 4WD, it just opens up more places to see. :)
      If you want to Rainforest and GBR then can I suggest just going to Airlie beach. I have dived and snorkelled in every area in Queensland and you don't have to go to Cairns to see the GBR. Plus you have Whitehaven and Hill Inlet, which is more gorgeous than any beach in Cairns. I've uploaded a series on Airlie Beach, so check out it and see what you think.
      Even the Southern Area of the GBR I find awesome like Lady Elliot and Lady Musgrave Island.
      As for the Rainforest, the Gondwana region (Also UNESCO) inland from the Gold Coast is much the same and older than the Daintree.
      I live in Brisbane so have plenty of videos hiking through Springbrook and lamington National park.

    When is the best time (season) to do this trip?

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  Год назад

      Depends on what your after, but either side of winter I think is a good time. The rain is less and the weather is cooler, especially in the top end. But the downside to this is the fresh waterfalls are freezing...LOL. Winter time is still fine for the Great Barrier Reef trips, even better when you don't have to worry about the stingers as much.
      However, if you want to see big flowing waterfalls, then summer is the best ( December to march)when the rain happens a lot :)
      I hope that helps, but if you need more info, then I have a blog here that might help :)
