So I have the Shredder too. Both are really powerful salt guns but completely different. SaltSWAT is an attachment to to the crosman 2240. You can use the gun as a 22 cal. pellet gun when you detach SaltSWAT. The shredder is based on the .177 cal vigilante but with a plastic barrel. You also have to buy the cartridges at $12/dozen to use the shredder. SaltSWAT is unlimited shooting. You just refill the hopper. I guess at the end of the day it is just personal preference. Have you tried SaltSWAT yet?

You can nail a bulls eye aiming from the hip 20 yards away. Slip the saltswat attachment on in less than a second. Easily knock flies down 4-5ft away. Obliterate them from 1-2ft away. saltSWAT.com
