As an avid fly assassin I can 100% recommend the Bug-a-Salt 3.0 over the Bug-a-Salt 2.0. The lethal range is much better and the safety mechanism is MUCH better. It allows for rapid firing instead of resetting safety on every shot. We have a turkey farm fairly close by and have frequent invasions from aerial terrorists. Since upgrading to the 3.0, my status has been transformed from average sniper to a true one man assault division capable of genocide. After every fly hunt I feel compelled to pray and ask forgiveness for the incredible loss of life that I and the engineers of the 3.0 are responsible for. The glee I feel watching flies fall to the ground from mid-air flak attack should feel wrong somehow but I only feel giddy. I sincerely hope my humanity and respect for life isn’t permanently destroyed by warfare with this tough and relentless enemy. I do not feel the negative effects of PTSD, thankfully. I’ll update you if changes to my sanity occurs.
Don't question the BUG-A-SALT. It takes out full-size New York cockroaches at close range. Not for the squeamish. Also takes out mosquitos, but this is where your shooting skills will be tested. Basically if it flies (short of bald eagles) bug-a-salt takes it down.
I think you have to be careful with wasps and hornets, I think their exoskeletons are a bit too tough. Meanwhile hit a housefly just right and you'll see his guts splatter all over the place.
This is actually a great segment. Im not sure ive ever seen a local news station do reviews like this. Seems great for older people who don't watch youtube much
@@Samson-dn4eo , you have to tune it to the distance you are attacking from. But yeah, so far, it's pretty accurate if you use the vertical and horizontal screws on the sight to tweak it.
I love this thing. Everyone in my family has them. They bring them when we go camping so I've known about them for a long time. Resisted the $50 price tag for a long time. This last summer I had sooo many flies in my house they were pissing me off and the fly swatter wasn't taking care of them quick enough. It's also messy and you don't know where the smashed flies will land. With the Bug Assault I can confidently shoot a fly in my kitchen, while I'm cooking, knowing what way the fly will go based on shooting it, rather than smashing it into pieces that go everywhere. It's a lot more fun than a fly swatter too. Believe me, you want this!
I have one as well and I love using it!!! I mostly use it on wasp and roaches and works like a charm just remember to maintain it and dont leave it cocked when you’re not using it
My wife used to make me uncock it in case our toddler picked it up. Our Bug-a-salt was, however, too long for her to have managed anything but shoot her toe and I've tested it on my hand from a half inch distance and it can't hurt humans.
The gray and black "increased power" one is definitely lethal against all typical bugs you see inside. I haven't encountered one i couldn't kill with it yet.
Yes, the new ones work. We live in a rural area and are surrounded by cow and horse farms, so flies are always an issue. We've tried sprays, foggers, baits, UV lights+zappers, fly paper, and maybe get a few flies. The kids just love grabbing the Bug-A-Salt and just clearing the house in minutes of every fly. Just keep the salt dry, reload it completely when it is humid, and it will last. Our 3.0 has been used hundreds of times, still works like a charm.
Oh it works! Got one of these as a gag gift for Christmas along with the laser sight. First time using it was on a spider on the kitchen ceiling and it was one shot one kill. The spider was there, and then he wasn't. Found it all curled up and dead in the kitchen sink. I keep this gun close all the time now. It's going to be very hard leaving a few flies alive this summer for the cats because they love hunting them too.
@@michaelmoran2059 I'm genuinely sorry for taking out your preferred bug, but I did at one time give them a chance and left them alone I ended up with so many spiders in my house that it was really out of hand. @@magnusatheos7301 I think there is a statistic where, should you sleep with your mouth open, you eat on average 4 spiders a year. You won't wake up hungry and a good source of protein.

I highly recommend this company. I have three of these guns and a shredder. The Pros. Fun to use and they actually work great. Satisfying to use. Effective on many insects. The cons. No replacement parts available.

I have had my Bug-A-Salt for at least 6 years. It works great. Wasps, mosquitoes, all kind of flying Insects and spiders. Totally wipes them out without leaving bug guts on your walls. Also it is a lot of fun. My wife even likes to use it. 👍
Yes these things work. A roughly four inch wide spider came crawling across my bedroom ceiling and after one shot... This thing has paid for itself. Kills flies with ease, wasps are no problem, but need an up close direct hit for a bumblebee due to the excess fuzz they have. My kindergartener isnt afraid of bugs flying around because we have this handy. Highly recommended
I love mine. I got one with the laser and have it dialed in perfectly. Sometimes with bigger things like wasps it takes a couple shots but it definitely does the job and especially if you get the one with the laser all you have to do is put the dot on it and pull the trigger.
if used indoor, Is it troublesome to clean up? I read it shoots a small bit of salt, but the salt is still gonna stay around the house floor, perhaps unable to see where it spreads. and attract insects who consume salt.
$49.99?? OMG I bought an electric zapper that looks like a tennis racquet for $25. Works GREAT! It stuns them enough to squash them, or you can let 'em fry.
There's also the salt a salt, it's this long stick with a bunch of bristles on the end that's great for pushing little bits of salt and dirt together for easy collection.
Works great in Flys. I have it for 4 years now and still works great. Caution... I used my bugasalt last years on a hornets nest out side of the house. One time only. Had to run real fast. I don't recommend doing that. 😮😮😮
