I have a Peugeot 3008 in the UK and I expected to use Google maps for navigation. However, I have found that the Peugeot navigator, with its Tomtom traffic feed is superior. Recalculation to avoid traffic jams is excellent and in the UK, I haven't come across any gaps in the map. I never use Sport mode. You do have to stamp on the accelerator to get going. I think Peugeot has done that deliberately to get good real world fuel economy. If I avoid pressing the pedal to the metal, I can get 60 mpg in hybrid mode, which can last for more than an hour's driving if you start with a full charge. When the battery is discharged it drops to around 40 mpg. If you want to overtake on a single carriageway, you just put your foot all the way to the floor and it does really take off and the engine tells you it's doing so. Now I've got used to that behaviour, I think that's what I want. 95% of the time it's quiet and economical, but then if you need to, you can get at > 200 PS.

Driving in The UK, I couldn't see out of the windscreen clearly to the left without either ducking my head (neckache) or lowing the seat (arse on the floor). Why is the rear view mirror set so low? Needs to be placed higher.

Nicely executed review Brian and Autogefühl team ! Personally I have a favorite bias towards French car brands (I drive a Peugeot 208 Mk1, read further on), but some things are executed poorly here on the 408:
    * At this price point and trim level I'd expect the rear bumper/fenders and bottom of the body to be painted, and not to be in bland, matte grey plastic. This is just not acceptable. Even my 208 has painted bumpers! (in the Active trim level, the 2nd level that is!)
    * Concerning the i-cockpit, I have mixed feelings about it. In my 208 it was the first iteration (small steering wheel, analogue gauges and a 7" touchscreen in the centre console), and I quite like it. However, the 3rd (208 Mk2) and 4th (308 Mk3, this 408) iterations just don't work for me. I dislike the the mix of the piano keys, and that there is no dedicated control (that is: key+readout) for the climate control.
    * That point brings me to the following: next year my 208 will not be allowed to enter the low-emissions zone of the city I work in anymore (it's a 2014 1.6 HDi, so stuck at Euro5 emissions levels). As replacements I'm either looking towards a Renault Clio V (petrol 133 hp automatic or hybrid, not decided yet), or the facelifted e-208, with the new 115 kW engine. I like the Renault more interior-wise (better layout vs. the Peugeot, ánd a dedicated climate control cluster), but the Peugeot has a more cool factor exterior-wise. If somehow Peugeot managed to learn to integrate the best features of the Renault setup, it would be a no-brainer. Maybe the Opel Corsa-e (same underpinnings, more classic interior) could also be an option for me ? Will it also get the same technical refresh/update as the 2023 e-208 ?

WATCH OUT FOR SPAM/FAKE ACCOUNTS. Across RUclips, you'll find fake accounts taking the identity of original channels, they use the same profile pic, similar names and include a telephone number in the name or their comments, trying to get you to message them on Whatsapp or Telegram. DO NOT MESSAGE THEM, they are trying to get your personal details, bank accounts etc. and in the end, they will ask for money. They promise you giveaways, prices etc. Do not fall for these cheap tricks and PLEASE HELP everyone and MARK THEIR MESSAGES and their whole accounts/channels as Spam. We from Autogefuehl will never ask for your bank details. Check out our original channel marked with the verified badge.
We do have other official channels, so you can identify them and also subscribe if you like e.g. in your native language:
