    My dad and I built a similar boat back in the 70's. We found that the more pointy the bow, the better it cut through the water. This looks like fun.

    For a day fishing boat that's solar powered and electric motor operated.
    Cool points.
    I love the design.
    The thought put into this project covers most prepper needs and the fisherman's quiet backwater access to that perfect bass hunters spots.
    I could bow fish on this.
    I could spear fish from this.
    I can spin cast from this.
    Very well done.
    Perhaps add a sun cover to avoid sunburn.
    Ok.
    You did add a sun umbrella.
    The perfect project.
    Kudo's.
    I would build this also for my grandchildren.
    Maybe a very small sail (nostalgia)
    Love the idea.

    Great job. It is hard to believe some manufacturer hasn't come up with a plan to manufacture any one of your' neat pontoon boats. I think if China gets a look, they would build one for sure.
    If I were younger I would build one. I would have a problem getting in and out of them. I am 85.
    Deciding which one to build would be the biggest problem. Have you ever considered pedal power? Then I don't think it would not require a registration. I wish I bad a way to get out on the water and fish. That would be perfect.

    I think an improvement would be a flat awning to replace the umbrella and move the solar panel onto the awning. I can't imagine you would be getting very much value from the solar panel with all the shading above it.

    • @supergokue1
      @supergokue1  4 года назад

      Good point, there is room for improvement with this design.

  • @terryglenweaver
    @terryglenweaver 3 года назад +1

    GOOD Job! Of course, there are mods I would have done differently.
    I would have opted for much larger solar panels and put them overhead instead of an umbrella. And certainly a larger trolling motor. In fact, about 25 years ago I did something similar by putting PVC pontoons on a 8ft aluminum jon boat, for stability and put in halogen lights pointing down. Later, I did this with a 14 ft Aluminum boat. We used it at night all over a huge resiviour and it worked great, with a decent trolling speed. (No solar panels, because they were far too expensive.)
    I have an IDEA that a boat with two outrigging pontoons swivel fixed and a hydraulic system that forces any direction the boat or either pontoon moves... causes the propeller to turn on a certain direction and speed. This would allow the waves to power the boat and additional Solar Panels with trolling motors to increase speed. This is just theory as I have not undertaken the task of a model...yet.
    I would put on two trolling motors each independently operated by foot controls. (I still have the 2 trolling motors.) Inspired? Let me know as I would like to build it, but I am disabled.

      I have a upgrade video coming out real soon, as soon as the water warms up. I did make a few changes, some of which you mentioned. Very creative ideas, thank you!

    • @terryglenweaver
      @terryglenweaver 3 года назад +1

      @@supergokue1 Actually the pontoons are the motors. If applied force came from only one direction or would cancel itself. However when the forces being applied come from all directions and routed to just one direction propulsion should be 'effectively" achieved. The only 2 ways this may not work... 1: completely stagnant water (no force availavle) 2: The actions of both pontoons and the boat are synchronized. Both of these instances are not only rare but any synchronized actions between the boat and pontoons are achieved at a perfect distance... which of course is adjustable. This leaves but one remaining problem and has plagued me... dead calm. Even that can be rectified as I have no roots preventing relocation, except transportation which I am in the process of fixing. (I have a Schoolie I was turning into a motorhome and a car and a motorcycle and a Go Cart. However, health issues prevent me from regaining my driver's license. Hence the Go Kart. (The parts to build it are here or in transit.) But it needs to be specifically built. Top speed... 6 MPH, but with an exception...allowing say; 50 MPH. It will also be Bush Craft Survival capabilities to which I already possess everything needed.
      Besides this project, I also have a 4 Cylinder Engine with a massive 7 moving parts...total. (that does not include things such as air conditioner, alternator or parts in such things as the Carburator (To which I also have a design to greatly enhance fuel economy.) I am a self-taught scientist/engineer and through watching me... my Son persued that further and is a store-bought college Scientist/Engineer.
      The infernal (internal) combustion engine's most eminence problem is that engineers have complicated the workings of engines instead of simplifying them. Some of the different perspectives I use... the ICE (internal combustion engine) uses all of the oxygen it is given but not all of the fuel, so, what if we reversed that? Scientists/Engineers claim that frictions from such areas as the camshaft and valves is too minimal to get great enhancement by reduction or elimination... I say they are wrong. In fact, my engine has no valves, nor camshaft, nor distributor, nor timing chain. There is no rocker arms, pushrods... the 4 cylinder engine has but 2 pistons and 2 connecting rods. It is also a two stroke with a minimal bore size but long stroke distance. There are no piston rings, oil rings as they simply are not needed. Yes, there is BlowBy but it is recollected, reduced and diverted as per the configuration of the piston's profile. It was only after gasoline's reduction of Octane, enhanced oils and some other occurances that allowed much of this to work. I had built a working model in the late 90's and was working on it when other (un-for-seeable) engagements utterly stopped my advancements and then, health issues that have continued to prevent this quest. And... then there is one other issue of paramount significance that for now, I deem it's relationship necessary to be kept a secret (the connecting element, in whose relationship is but... time.)
      Stick around and all can be revealed. See, as of Augast 2004 these quests have taken a back seat for development. I never chased money anyway, which means I really don't care if others discover my ingenuity and design secrets... which actually (if possible) is of great reward for someone wanting to know and has the same drawback... time.

    Incredibly creative approach to ordinary things!!!! Everyone in these pipes can see the sewerage, you saw the possibility of the supporting structure. In polyurethane foam (or whatever it is) everyone can see the insulating material, you have noticed the material for the floats. The same with containers whose usual use is polarly distant from yours.
    In this way, the same aproach to things, the boys from Apollo 13 were saved in practically no exit situation.

    Not a bad idea. I do have two suggestions. Extend the pontoons in front by at least 1 ft. (When you leaned forward the boat dipped downward at the front). When you made the frame of 1-inch PVC under the coolers you could have just sanded the center of the Tee out so the PVC pipe would slide down to the middle then just glued them in place. This would eliminate a set of 4 joints.

      Or sheets of coroplast as multiwasher
      I would use coroplast iinstead of particle board too like other builds
      And if you tale ends and add a sealant over tape or sealant over whole thing the coroplast itself would be bouyant.....buy white to match and it will look nicer too (on other build not this one)

    Good job! Greetings from Bulgaria! I really like those last modifications. You could be think about some small keel. And also you can made something like a lite spoilers for the pontоones/easy from empty 20l. buckets and hotairpistol/ This will improve the speed and control of the boat.Again :i like what you do. Love this idea. I'd need a more modular design though. I have a small car. It would be nice if it could all be taken apart and packed in then assembled on sight... or I'll just make sure my next car is bigger and has a roof rack. The umbrella is a great idea. You'd die out on a lake for a day with the sun beating down on you and no shade, or come home with massive sunburn at the very least.
