Nice job. I just bought the same pool and have the same issue with the slope of my yard. Going to add a retaining wall like yours all the way around and then hard plumb. Thanks for the video and great ideas.
That’s awesome. Love to see the plumbing inside to the hard plumb work. How you got those to marry up... Your pool is very well done!! Thanks for sharing! Hope it’s still going well.
This was probably the most helpful video yet. I am looking to upgrade from the intex factory inlet/outlets to PVC plumbing. What did you use initially against the inlet/outlet? What fitting? Thanks again for the great information!
that is a sweet setup. i'm going to fashion my intex like yours. Thank you so much for posting this. If you have time, can you list the parts used? How much PVC and the joints you used? (ie shut off...diverters)
Awesome setup!! What size connection did you use on your outlets and inlets to connect from the pool to the pvc. And if possible can you explain step by step the process, or make a video. I'm sure a lot of people would watch it. Thank you great job!!
What were the steps you took to bond the pool and sand filter? I’m about to replace the small Intex pump with a 1/2 hp sand pump and am finding inconsistent directions on the bonding process. Thanks!
Nice job on the hard plumb. I just bought the same pool to replace an older blue Intex 15x48. It lasted 8 years [up all year long Atlanta]. Did you have to cut a skimmer hole? Does the intex bottom cleaner work well and will it pick up large oak leaves? Thanks for posting.
Yes, I had to cut the skimmer hole but it was easy. Basically, you place it where you want it, poke holes for the screws, screw the two sides together, then cut the opening through the liner once it is in place. The skimmer picks up most debris. I have crepe myrtles that drop the flowers and then the seed pods. It grabs them, dirt that settles to the bottom, insects, and small leaves. Large leaves it will not pick up. Mine might have one or two that it grabs but for the most part it will just push them around.
It is a HydroTools model 8939 www.amazon.com/dp/B0032JSQK2/ref=asc_df_B0032JSQK25057219/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B0032JSQK2&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167151535350&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5471390184496281475&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011674&hvtargid=pla-309844499455
trevino73 this pool came with two outlets already. I just had to enlarge the holes to accept the fittings I decided to use. For the inlets, I installed the skimmer over the existing inlet as far up the liner as possible and then cut the liner for the opening. The lower inlet was a little more tricky because the pool was already filled with water when I installed it. I held a cup against the liner that was close to the size of the fitting where I wanted to place it. I then reached over and cut an X shaped slit in the liner and slid the fitting through. Using another cup over the opening to prevent water from escaping I was able to install the PVC and valve.
This pool had one inlet and two outlets. However, the outlets were not large enough for the outlet fittings that I was using so one of them had to be enlarged. Originally, I had the other outlet plugged off until I got the bottom cleaner. The lower inlet had to be cut. Believe it or not, I cut it with the pool full of water. I had my daughter hold a large cup on the outside of the pool, placed the inlet inside the pool, and cut around the tube. I then pushed the inlet through the opening and then placed a tight-fitting cup over it on the inside of the pool.
Is it ok with just the sand filter or do you recommend to upgrade to a salt and sand system, I’m buying this pool and upgrading the pump but I’m not sure it would be a good idea to go use a salt system too.
Personally I prefer thus setup. With the salt you will not need all of the chemicals but I hate the taste of salt at the beach so I certainly do not want it at home.
Awesome job! Questions: 1) Do you winterize and pack them away? 2) Do you use salt system with the sand filter? 3) Where did you buy your pool? Thanks!
No, this us freshwater only although a saltwater filtration system can easily be added. I live in Northeast Florida so it only freezes a couple of days each winter but I always empty the pool after the season us over. This pool came from Target. I replaced one that developed a large tear in the bottom of the liner that could not be repaired.
I got your wonderful remark about my RUclips video, so I said I should atleast come and return the Favour and as well be one of you subscriber 😁, nice content you have here👍
Hi, I am sure this would be very fun for kids but I was wondering if this is an enjoyable size pool for an adult. I am planning on getting one but have not decided wether to get a bigger one. Thanks!
we bought ours used when we were putting it up we noticed some holes along the edge we started running the water and of course the water was just coming out I do believe my nephew did the holes with a shovel any way to repair these pools
You can buy patches if they are not too big. I cut up my old liner and sold it as patches on eBay. I have a little bit left but not much. They sold very quickly!!!
This pool had three ports for the original ports. The two Returns to the pump and one outlet of the pump. What fittings did you use that are connected to the PVC pipe? I’m talking about the actual fitting on the pool. Also what size PVC are you using?
You have that backwards. There were two outlets (from the pump to the pool) and one inlet (from the pool to the pump). I think that this is 1 1/2" pvc but it might be 2"...cannot remember to tell the truth. The fittings are the same diameter as the pvc. Just took the fittings to Lowe's and matched them to the pvc connectors.
coxmr1 sand filter and pump are more than enough. This filter is made for a much larger pool so it keeps this pool crystal clear. I've changed the media once but should probably change it more often than I do.
We just bought one..with a sand filter..the new style..but I noticed that it first the pump was pushing lots of water. N now it barely pushes water..the pressure looks good..any suggestions will be appreciated
Your sand is dirty if it's not pushing water or you got the wrong type if sand. It has to be pool sand. Regular sand is too dense for water to flow through it
Did you use the filler tool and no sand went down the middle hollow tube? Other than that, you need to backwash and then rinse the sand. Make sure it's not filled over the fill lines on the middle tube. Took me about 125 lbs of sand or 2 1/2 bags.
I do not understand the question....once I set the pool up I used a regular carpenters level to make sure each leg was level front to back and side to side. As I added water I adjusted the legs until it was too full to move them anymore.
these weren't $3 a block. i got a pallet of 100 blocks and paid $150 for them. Not suggesting you do this. This is what worked for me on very uneven ground. If you know a better way then by all means do it.
I got your wonderful remark about my RUclips video, so I said I should atleast come and return the Favour and as well be one of you subscriber 😁, nice content you have here👍
Wow. Impressive install of the filtration, inlet, and outlet setup!
I just put mine up yesterday, and after a ton of work, I am at 2 inches unlevel. So great job man. Thanks for the vid

Great video! I just started setting up the pool and I'm going to add water today. That PVC job looks fantastic and I wish I had the know-how.
You did a great job with the piping and the pool in general.
love your setup. We are just leveling our ground for the 16x48. I hope we can get ours that level. Nice deck!
Very talented and impressive. Enjoy your pool and it's set up. I need to raise my game...
Really really a nice job I love the plumbing job I took a pic and I may do this to my small pool😊😊😊 thank you for the video,😁😁😁😁
Very nicely done
Very nice setup, looks nice and neat!!

I like your hard plumb job I'm going to try that this year!
me too
Great video, steps up to the deck job is pure pro...

Well done. How did you connect the hard pipes to the pool outlet?
Nice good job
You have a nice yard!
Very nice!
Excellent!
Thank you. This is the third year it has been up and it is still going strong.
two questions how is the retaining wall holding up and how close to the wall are you?

What external twist fittings used for PVC removal/ maintenance ?
Did you cut out some holes on the pool liner to add the extra inlet and outlet? Or does the pool already have 4 connectors.

Looking to make same deck what dimensions
Hi, I am sure this would be very fun for kids but I was wondering if this is an enjoyable size pool for an adult. I am planning on getting one but have not decided wether to get a bigger one. Thanks!
It was originally purchased for my two grandkids who were not yet teenagers. However, I get in all the time and find it quite enjoyable.

What kind of fitting used to detach PVC lines above ball valve and the exit of pool for maintenance ? Where do I purchase these from ? Thank you
I got everything that I needed from Lowes
thank you

meluvulonglongtime thanks I appreciate the help. Your pool set up is awesome
Hey man where can you buy the connections to the pool to start the PVC. Was you able to get everything with the PVC
Very nice! is your skimmer leaking?
Slim1 Dune naw... it rained and the water level was too high.
Do you find the pump is powerful enough to adequately handle all the extra inlets, outlets, and fountain?
coxmr1 sand filter and pump are more than enough. This filter is made for a much larger pool so it keeps this pool crystal clear. I've changed the media once but should probably change it more often than I do.
meluvulonglongtime thanks! I have similar pump, and want to add outlet also, so good to know it will handle. Thanks! Nice setup you have there.

does this pool have a main drain?
Is your pool self priming
How deep is it
That is a 14 or 15 in filter??
how did you keep leg straight?

At $3 a block that gets expensive!! Looks great tho!

Yes that is the backyard. Thank you.
