RB3 does have a drum freestyle mode that uses samples from the game. But I'm not super familiar with it so I don't know the diversity of the midi options.

But if the performance is bad you can always play clone hero. Also going to recommend joining the MiloHax discord for more accurate troubleshooting and guides.
