    I love this! I wish Avon would use the old packaging, I would BUY EVERYTHING FROM THEM. I love the glass bottles and jars they had. I HATE the black packaging they have for everything now a days. It's just sad.

    I had the kiddie lipstick with the blond girl's face on the top and the bottle of spray cologne with the hat for a cap....I actually got in trouble with that one. I didn't understand that this was a special spray that you only use sparingly, and I ran around the house spraying it on everything till it was gone. I got a good yelling and no more spray bottles for a Looooong time. I was 4. My cousin had the talc ice cream cone. We were NUTS for Avon products. I still love Sweet Honesty. I have had a number of Avon ladies that I meet at my swimming pool. They show up with catalogs, and everyone in the ladies dressing room is mesmerized. I just saw one of them the other day.

    Thanks that was fun going Down memory lane. I had the miss lolly pop mist with the Little hat on. My Dad had that boot cologne . I remember going into friends and family bathrooms and you could spot the unique Avon containers. I LOVED THE TINY LIP STICK SAMPLES. . They fit in your pocket. So cute .The good ole days . When life was pure and sweet.

      I bought a bottle of Charisma from a seller on Ebay not long after I made this video. The decanter is one of those painted eggs Avon made in the 70s. It smells pretty good considering the fact that its nearly 50 years old.

    Hi Mary, Brocade was one of my favorite fragrances in the late sixties, I remember it being in a grey/beige jar with brocade design on top. Elusive was in a pink/orchid glass bottle with a gold top, very pretty light floral fragrance. You mentioned Wishing fragrance, that’s one that I remember in the mid sixties, it was also a light fragrance that came in a white round jar with a gold wishbone on top.
    Skin so soft has been around for ever. What a wonderful time to reminisce, right before the beginning of a new year! Happy New Year Mary, have a wonderful 2023 to you and all reading this! May the new year be filled with love, health and success!✨❤️✨💚✨

    Charisma was a beautiful fragrance. I'm sorry you never got to enjoy it. Avon would do well to bring back the classics. I had the ice cream cone powder puff and the Honeysuckle solid perfume stick. Such good memories.

      I'm so glad you have such fond memories of Avon! That's always good to hear! I have their newest Honeysuckle blossom fragrance. It's nice. I don't know how the original smelled, though. I think the most recent honeysuckle fragrance was launched a couple of years ago. It is part of Avon's LYRD line.

      Thank you for listening, Elaine, and sharing some of your memories of Avon with us! I haven't smelled Field Flowers yet and I'm curious to know how it smells. One can find vintage fragrances on ebay, but older fragrances may or may not smell as good as they did long ago. For that reason, I'm not sure if I should bother or not.

      @@maryleachmanbeautyconsultant That is why a company called Scent Matchers makes NEW perfumes that exactly match the old ones no longer being made. Believe it or not, there IS NO perfume copyright. You can make ANY copy of any perfume you want. I used to love my Mom’s signature scent, Hypnotique, by Max Factor. They quit making it long ago. Scent Matchers makes that one FRESH.😉

    I used to have the Snoopy soap dish holder when I was a kid! I wish I still had it, but I’m afraid it’s long gone by now…😞
    I was wondering if this catalog included Bird of Paradise, as it was first released in 1969. But this catalog must have come out before that fragrance was introduced. I always loved the packaging for Bird of Paradise.

    AVON today is a shadow of their once glory. Occur!, Charisma, Regence, Somewhere, Bird of Paradise used to conquer the world. But Avon does not bring back their best fragrance brands. They just do not care. Except for Topaze. Who cares about Dreamlife which was a flop.
    In some Southern American countries Charisma and Regence (called Elegante) are still available. Today Avon is just another cosmetics company like any other. No more glamour like in the 60ies, 70ies.

    • @maryleachmanbeautyconsultant
      @maryleachmanbeautyconsultant  Год назад +1

      It's because Avon changed ownership. I guess the new owners don't have the same love for the company that the original owners had. Yes, Avon was very special and unique at one time, and that's all but gone. I guess that's why some of us try to preserve its past glory days.

    • @maryleachmanbeautyconsultant
      @maryleachmanbeautyconsultant  Год назад +1

      Estee Lauder no longer makes those unique perfume bottles it used to make. These days most of its fragrances come in the same style bottle. That's kind of boring, too.
      I have never smelled Dreamlife. I am curious about that one. I think the owners might think those old fragrances you mentioned are too dated to appeal to younger consumers. I don't necessarily agree, but I bet Avon is trying to keep up with current trends, and it is producing what it thinks young consumers will like. For example, Youth Dew (an old Estee Lauder fragrance) still has a strong following among older women but most younger people don't care for it as much. I won't be surprised if Estee Lauder eventually stops making it. I think younger people just don't appreciate fragrances like Youth Dew, but women used to love that years ago.

      @@maryleachmanbeautyconsultant thnx Mary. Appreciate your vids!
      well, I used to be an AVON Gentleman starting business in 1964!!!. I was 5 years old.(of course my mother had to "sign" the contract.) Ladies hearts melted away to see a young boy started "his"career that early. And mother and me made a lot of cash trust me. Little girls adored me when I sold them "PRETTY PEACH". Me dressed up in a suit and gloves .that was a girls favorite.....well the boy or the fragrance? Choose!
      So I am an AVON expert. We enjoyed hugh revenues with Occur! (introduced 1963)That was the most selling fragrance at that time...by the way worldwide. Then Regence came in 1967. In 1968 CHARISMA. Mother fell in love with that scent. Moonwind in 1971 a blockbuster perfume. AND THEN TIMELESS in 1974. This is Avon`s Chanel 5. And the company does not care about that famous product line. Nothing. Very impressive was also Emprise dating from 1976. If you look at the bottle. To me the design is still so elegant and somehow modern up to this day. Emprise stood for the new Avon.
      That much said when it comes to fragrances.
      Todays Avon is a nightmare. To me cheap stuff at high prices.And except for Wild Country I do not buy anything else. They stopped talc for men. See how frustrating this is. When Avon was still under U.S. control I did contact them in New York so many times about those issues. The result Z E R O. Avon is now a Brazilian "company". I guess. Thnx for listening And of course all the success for your Avon business.Claus(like Santa...)
