- Ford Shelby GT500 vs Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the 1/4 Mile.
This video is a short little clip that they put in a MotorTrend Head 2 Head Match up that they did in Episode 11 (link below) This twerp Angus MacKenzie always picks the ZL1 in the overall scheme of things because he is a nancy ass. The Shelby won on the track and the Quarter but he picks the Camero because of braking and a smoother shift (in his opinion). Its easier to Upgrade brakes then it is a Motor you twerp. They did this comparison after foolishly comparing a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 vs Ford Mustang Boss 302 in Episode 2, A Supercharged 6.2L vs the naturally aspirated 5.0L and the ZL1 cost about 8k more.

the shelby isn't that much faster, it only beat the zl1 by .68 seconds, timed it with a stop watch four times
How about we make the race longer? It will be 68 seconds if it was...
It also has a higher top speed so with longer distances it will loose the chevy.

Umm gt500 has 80 more hp and is lighter and barely won in my book i would say its shitty
@Steven gardner nope shelby beat camaro ib drift, grid, drag and almost anything, but the camaro beat shelby at looking better and thats it...I used to be a chevy guy but now im a ford's fan, their engine is amazing everything about it is amazing.

***** exactly I love both. My favorite races have been the ones against other muscle cars. One manual camaro SS and one manual vette with the 6.0 2005 ish. Both very close and very fun. Love american muscle

Yea the gt500 doesn't have a 5.0l naturally aspirated engine, it has a 5.8 supercharged engine. For a ford fanboy you don't seem to know much.

a 6.2 supercharged vs a 5.9 supercharged with a bigger bore and a bigger super charger oh that makes sense..not
its nice that the zl1 can stay so close with so much less hp .engine bolt on mods will put that engine way past it .
have you seen how the zl1 camero put the gt500 to shame on the nurburgring track ? the gt500 didn't even come close ...ya ya keep talking ..also the boss 302 was meant for the z28 and the z28 still beats it ..ya ya go cry ..nice try buddy..
ZL1 is the overall better car, But the pure power and speed of the GT500 is quite intoxicating, The sound of them both is amazing, And the prices are astonishing, SO hard to choose

im a hardcore chevy guy, but throw some turns in tuere and the zl1 eats the Shelby, the shelby needs the suspention and brakes from the roush mustangs
They just use the SHELBY name for marketing purposes because in the 1960's Carrol Shelby helped ford design the 1967 Ford Shelby GT500 and GT350, but no longer on the new cars. The Gt500 is made and designed 100% by Ford's SVT Team. The only mustang that SHELBY INC. puts his hands on is the SHELBY GT500 SUPER SNAKE but not in the regular GT500.

Yes the gt500 is faster in a straight line but the camaro is ment for more then just that and no not everyone will ever put it to the test I would still pick the camaro tho better equipment all around and I'm a Chevy fan but will always like mustangs my fisrt car was a mustang

also in 2014 when your v6 ecoboost came out ..gmc came out with a 3.6 v6 twin turbo aswell on the cadillac cts vsport ..but didn't make a big deal about it ..it has 420hp stock vs your stupid 375 hp ecoboost...haha ..remember chevy did a turbo first ,they're just not stupid enough to put it in a truck lol
There’s an ecoboost with 450 hp and 510 lb ft of torque
