Hey Gavin! Great Video! I wanted to ask if you could one day make a video about how to find the right Color Space and Gamma of a Footage without knowing the Settings/Camers that have been used... maybe some software that can read into the meta data if that is possible? Would be great to know!
I bought a M1 Max macbook last year in february, when there was a worldwide shortage of GPUs, and the prices were ridiculous (in my country, it was almost the same price as the macbook). It's an awesome machine, quiet, good render times, stable, but sometimes it lacks the power to do heavy effects or grading.
Both have pros & cons but I think pcs are more adjustable for VFX and colorgrading. With macs you have stability, and when you work in company's with a lot of people messing with computers that's important. With pc you need to be more careful and treating the machine a little bit well. But for me PC, one of the reasons as you said is about price VS performance and what you get. We are in the real time era and for me apple is just going in other direction, more for designers.
And you mentioned that you render your DNxHR 444 again through Premiere to get Apple ProRes.. could you maybe elaborate on how you do it? maybe a tutorial? Would be great!
I think both have pros & cons. For mac unless you are going for expensive tb storage /10g nas & tb docking station you are pretty much limited with number of displays & storage. On another hand, pc is cheap with lots of possibilities. But you are limited with plugins and dctls. Also, you have to pay a high electricity bill compared to Mac.

Man, I love these rambling and raw videos you do. I wish I had the balls to do unscripted content like this but I’m way too awkward haha
