Brilliant. "Live each day as if you will live forever. That means, first and foremost, that you should treat the people around you as if they too will be around for a very long time to come. The choices that you make today matter, because their consequences will grow greater and greater. That is what Einstein was getting at when he supposedly said that compound interest is the most powerful force in the universe. This isn’t just about finance or money, but it’s about the idea that you’ll get the best returns in life from investing your time in building durable friendships and long-lasting relationships."
Good speech. Dont always follow your elders advices and live you life at it would last forever. And we the Western world are not developed enough yet. Good speech :)
"Do not be true to yourself. How do you even know you have such a thing as a self? Your self might be motivated by competition with others, like I was. You need to discipline your self, to cultivate it, and care for it, not to follow it blindly"
Beautiful speech; I especially like the idea that in order to "live each day as if it were your last" you should "live as if you will live forever". Many people turn "live each day as if it were your last" into some kinda of base YOLO crap but Thiel's more cerebral take is much more relevant to the world we actually live in and the problems facing humanity.
The guy dropped law practice 2 persue business & venture capitalism. Sth he forgot 2 add, "U r original & cannot be replaced. Why do u wanna live as a copy? Follow ur heart's passion."
Loved this speech! We actually have a Web Series that profiles Young Entrepreneurs in Toronto, it's amazing how much Entrepreneurs have to teach and inspire the rest of the world!
Peter has some amazing points here. I didnt get in to engineering school so did CS instead. turns out CS was the correct major to chose and mechanical engineering is a dying major. It was mostly luck than skill on my part tho.
He is very very good. A genius. Zero to one is awesome.
Brilliant.

I wish that more teachers in the “teachers union” subscribed to the way of thinking that Peter espouses. God bless.

Can I translate his speech and add a subtitle in Japanese? I think this should be widely shared with Japanese audience as well.
Hi. Yes, please make sure to reference that he spoke at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., and that the College provided the video.
This is the beginning of forever, and I won't delay you in getting on with it.

Too bad he's a supremacist fascist oligarch. And some kinda blood-feeding techno-vampire. Other than that, I guess he's OK?
He quotes Ezra Pound no less too
