Searched for a video to save me some money and yours came up. Thank you for you video that was quite detailed and helpful. I hope this job is not going to difficult for a lady such as my again.
I love that you started with how to open the bonnet. I've done one oil change on my Holden captiva under supervision and watching this as a refresher, im fully confifent to do it on my own this time. Excellent explantation. Subbing in hope you do more stuff to your car.
Having serious trouble getting the cap off the oil filter in the wife's car. Doesn't seem like any of the sockets can fit in the gap between the cap and the manifold
Have you done a transmission oil change on the captiva? I don't have a dipstick for the transmission and trying to find the filler location. I have a 2015 captiva 7 CG.
Don't mean to be rude but this is a lazy video and won't work for first timers. Those two bolts will be so tight that you will need a socket wrench for both. A ring spanner won't work for the sump plug and an adjustable won't work for the oil filter. Because those two bolts will be tightened to torque spec and very hard to get off. You will also need to lift the vehicle with either ramps or stands so that you have room to use the socket wrench. The only reason this works I'd because his bolts are only tightened by hand, which is the incorrect way to do it. The plug and the filter have a number on it and they are supposed to be tightened accordingly. If you are doing this yourself for the first time you will need: Oil Filter Ramps or stands 15mm socket wrench 32mn socket wrench Otherwise you'll have a rough time. Also tighten it properly. Use a torque wrench
First timer🙋♀️, I used a 15m socket for the sum plug and kicked it ( ye it was torqued). No ramps needed🤦♀️ even though I'm way smaller than him. If you can't fit, then sure. STOP adding your 2cents and making these way too complicated for beginners, go judge the pros posting.

Thanks for your video every useful it that 2017 holden captiva having fuel filter to change or not..
Thank you
saya dari indonesia dan saya baru saja membeli mobil captiva dengan mesin yang sama seperti anda
You can pour 300mil of oil out of the 5litre into a clean container and be left with 4.7 in the bottle.
Did you start the motor before you checked the oil level. I am trying to find my dip switch and fuel cap on my motor.
No. The oil needs to be settled in the sump to get an accurate reading.
Could you just remove 300mls from the 5ltr oil bottle and then pour the rest straight into the engine?
You could. If you know for sure the 5L bottle has exactly 5L in it. But I like to measure mine so I know it's 100% accurate.
Thanks mate.
so👍👍👍👍👍
Looks like the motor needs a clean too
