    I retired after 25 years as a corrections officer and I agree with his assessment of incarceration rates. Prison should be a place to warehouse violent offenders. Oftentimes those violent offenders either plead out to a lesser sentence due to the large number of accused awaiting trial or get out of prison earlier than they should due to prison overcrowding. BTW, the war on drugs isn't working either.

    • @jeremyreevessicg2218
      @jeremyreevessicg2218 3 года назад +18

      The approach to the war on drugs is incorrect. I was caught once for trafficking (I was a junkie) went to prison and stayed high nearly every day. Was turned into an animal, got out, and really started selling. Got caught again with weight (still a junkie). An informed judge sent me to treatment instead of prison. I got treatment, not incarceration. I now have a sobriety date (been sober a long time). I'm a productive member of society with my own business. Successful! I was sent to treatment and then a sober living facility, not prison. Prison is for violent offenders and dirty ass sex offenders.

      Had been years since I visited her...maybe since 2009 until about a year ago.

      I wanted to move to Detroit but the taxes are way too high, and crappy services. A true sign of a corrupt political government. They tax the people, and pocket the money.

      That IS CALLED "GENTRIFICATION "!.
      THATS THE ISSUE WITH THE FKN WEALTHY. i say to them.
      Get the fk out.
      A life long traveler around the states.
      Ive seen that happen all over.
      The fkn wealthy take over areas once the citizens of that area take back their hoods.
      Then the Governments fk it all up.
      I blame all the REAL ISSUES.....
      On the Politicans.
      Educated Idiots.

    When I went to county and got out the sheriff told me the same thing when I did a peace out he told me we will see you again and I turned around and looked at him and I told him no you won't and never been back since. It's sad that they feel like they will see you again not just because they do have repeat offenders but because it's the way the system targets those that have already been in the system to fail and be back right there.
