I have several Prada fragrances and they are some of the most mass appealing scents that I have. I’ve noticed that people love when a man smells crisp, clean, and fresh and a lot of Prada’s mainstream fragrances do just that.
Which makes sense why a perfumer like Aaron would not like this fragrance. The general public does not like complicated and complex fragrances and likes more generic smelling things.

Honest and very detailed lesson of how to breakdown a fragrance. Prada masculines are very safe and unfortunately often boring. But I understand people liking them when they are new to sampling fragrance. Thank you Aaron for a nice video.
Carbon gets noticed and talked about more than any in my collection. I get the Sauvage DNA but it's mitochondria DNA, and this projects. This is back-up bottle worthy.
imo it's great for the office. Very inoffensive to most people. Never got a headache from good quality ambroxan fragrances like sauvage or carbon. My mom and grandfather instantly get a headache from cheap or weird fragrances and they never had a problem with this one. I definitely prefer carbon though. I think it's blended better.
As someone who lives very close to Carbon County Pennsylvania in the coal region, I think this is the most accurately named fragrances. The “coal” note makes this nice everyday wear that allows you to blend in and not stand out.

If human beings had a "new car smell" this would be it. This one really grew on me over time. Super clean, sharp, metallic-linen, professional corporate scent, when I wear it I feel like a boss. I think this is superior to Dior Sauvage (I'm not a fan, headache inducing) if you're similar, give it a try!
I think it’s boringness and safeness makes it shine. It’s easy to wear daily, mass appealing and you’re not going to offend anyone by wearing it. I think it makes great for an everyday scent.
Please review one of the "narciso rodriguez" EDT or the EDP the EDP is more "mainstream" but the EDT is a one of a kind musk. It often gets compared to "wet concrete" so it may contain the chemical you mentioned. Both are definitely very different compared to most mainstream fragerances. Very interesting ozonic woody musk.
Actually interested in that "goeslin" molecule you were talking about Aaron. Rain on hot pavement is one of my favourite aromas.. I don't know why but i just love it

I wonder if that chemical you mentioned is what gives narciso rodriguez for him its wet soil/ concrete note. I really dig for him it smells kinda like wet gravel or a rainey sidewalk, but in a good way
I really love this fragrance, lasts for around 10 hours on my skin. The metallic lavender DNA is very fresh and invigorating. My go-to for the office. Very versatile too, but would reach for something with more warmth and spice in the colder months.

I have this and it's just a nice general smell. That's also kind of the point. Not meant to break heads but just give a safe and pleasant smell. If you don't know what to wear it's always a good choice, but won't blow anyone's mind.
Idk if you see it this way, but I've always seen fragrances as stories told through smell. Like music is a story told through sound, movies are stories told through sight, or a delicious meal is a story told through taste. I call my collection "My Library" like for instance, your Slut to me is the story of an amazing one night stand with a gorgeous person who you'll never see again. Then the dry down is the story of both the longing to see them again with the joy of the memories of that night.
Only prada i have ever had from start was prada luna rossa and now only have 2 bottles of 2016 version before it got slightly reformulated . And Prada l'homme that's it, Luna rossa line has to many never even tried them lol.
I wish you would review Hafez 1984 by Alexandria Fragrances. I'd love to hear your thoughts. It's a house that works predominantly with clones/inspirations, but they have originals. Hafez 1984 is one of them.
I used to have car freshner which smalled nearly 100% the same. I don't say it's bad. It is good for young chaps. Fresh but not really original. Very synthetic for me at least.
i do agree that designer houses smells the same to one & another, either they are using the same formula & twist it out or using the same ingridients. i personally think niche fragrance is the end journey of all fragrance lover.
Luna Rossa carbon is a softer and more synthetic version of Dior Sauvage , on my skin after 3 hours it is exactly what Aaron 🤴🏻 says , became boring ,so after 3 hours I receive it and reapply . Nice review again. Let's have a thought for Carlos , shall he rest in peace, Fragrance community is so sad. Rip.

So after 3 hours I reapply again but will not buy it again, just received it because my friends knows I like Dior Sauvage so much , Luna Rossa carbon is half of the price but last 50% less so 😉

Geosmin is the aroma chemical you were referencing right? Have you used it in any of your fragrances yet? Also, considering its cost, I would be surprised if any designer house utilizes it in their fragrances. Though it is rather powerful in trace amounts, so they may be able to use it in a cost-effective way.

When sprayed under my nose Sauvage made me feel nauseous. After 5-6 wearing I learned how to wear it. With Carbon it's less likely to happen. An easier to wear, slightly more refined and less in your face Sauvage. Jo Malone's Cypress & Grapevine is similar category.
I know you've reviewed prada l'homme Intense, but the original Prada L'homme is the most beautiful lavender fragrance I know of, Idk how different it is from the Intense though.

I prefer PDMs Percival over all those Ambrox. heavy designer scents cause the ambrox. is way better blended and not so edgy/sharp. Besides, the lavender note is more prominent 🤠 🦄

That metallic note is precisely explained. I can't stand it in sauvage. In dylan Blue it's bearable, even Aqua di gio turns little metalic on drydown. It like you're smelling a copper plate dipped in acid.

This is how I feel about Dylan Blue by Versace. It opens nicely but there is something in it that smells like a dry erase marker as it dries down. It’s sharp and kind of headache inducing
Fragrance du bois tend to make these types of things yet charge a Kings ransom, I'm not saying some of them aren't nice but they're having people's pants down really. I much prefer honest good quality like aaron Terence Hughes work. Its the real deal.
Yea...spot on Aaron. I blind bought this fragrance and regretted it. One of my earlier lessons in sampling before buying rules. It just smells so familiar like its already been done over and over. You're right - its boring. I couldn't even get rid of it on ebay :( Feels like a cousin of Sauvage. Better frags in the Prada line in my opinion.
I also find it better smelling than Sauvage, even if the performance is much softer. I love Daniela Andrier's creations, but they are definitely not for Aaron, hahaha.

So this sounds like it falls in line with other “blue” fragrances. I got Versace Dylan Blue recently so i dont think i need any more blue scents...this still may be on my list lol

Still one of my favorites to wear. It just makes me feel good, fresh, relaxed and masculine all at the same time.
I love this scent. It has excellent performance without being obnoxious like Sauvage.
Sauvage is only obnoxious when the kids douse themselves in it. One spray is where Sauvage shines. Amazing stuff when applied sparingly.

Much prefer this over sauvage, i like the dry down, as it's sweeter than sauvage , beautiful..! Everytime i wear it i get compliments....

You should review Cedrat Boise by Mancera.
I think ”Carbon” hints at the pencil smell that ambroxan can give off for some people (although I think pencils also have the smell of cedar).

I don’t think the original L’homme has lavender. It’s an iris fragrance.

Luna de rosa are on top of my top 10 list of all time and they’re none niche

That metallic note is precisely explained. I can't stand it in sauvage. In dylan Blue it's bearable, even Aqua di gio turns little metalic on drydown. It like you're smelling a copper plate dipped in acid.

This is how I feel about Dylan Blue by Versace. It opens nicely but there is something in it that smells like a dry erase marker as it dries down. It’s sharp and kind of headache inducing
It smells more synthetic, imo.
Love it but does not last long fades away after 2 hours

Fragrance du bois tend to make these types of things yet charge a Kings ransom, I'm not saying some of them aren't nice but they're having people's pants down really. I much prefer honest good quality like aaron Terence Hughes work. Its the real deal.
Yea...spot on Aaron. I blind bought this fragrance and regretted it. One of my earlier lessons in sampling before buying rules. It just smells so familiar like its already been done over and over. You're right - its boring. I couldn't even get rid of it on ebay :( Feels like a cousin of Sauvage. Better frags in the Prada line in my opinion.
Blind bought it myself, I don't really hate it but don't like it either. 5/10 for me.
I also find it better smelling than Sauvage, even if the performance is much softer. I love Daniela Andrier's creations, but they are definitely not for Aaron, hahaha.

Glad to have your opinion on this. It’s often compared to other ambroxan fragrances, sauvage in particular, so I didn’t think you would enjoy it. I feel like azzaro wanted by night it a much better alternative to these scents.

So this sounds like it falls in line with other “blue” fragrances. I got Versace Dylan Blue recently so i dont think i need any more blue scents...this still may be on my list lol
