Austin Hargrave (PeanutButterGamer): Well intentioned goofball with a strong sense of morality… unless it’s funnier to be evil. He claims to fear leadership roles, but often is thrust into them regardless, and looks to his friends for confidence, and performs in them well. Well-enough.
Dean Elezab: A raucous adventurer with a knack for pushing his luck- and he knows it. Another word for Dean would be: polarizing; you either love him or hate him. Love him for his ridiculous (and dangerous) antics or hate him for endangering the team.
Stewart Hargrave (McJones Riley): Discerning and knowledgeable, McJones steers the group in the right direction and provides key information on the task at hand. Due to this role, he’s a little more cautious, but more than ready to play along with shenanigans when there’s downtime.
Barry Kramer: Quiet, chill, and quick of wit, Barry’s the rock of the group. He wouldn’t say this, far too modest, but you just can’t help but think he’s so dang cool. While he’s not one for leadership, affixing Barry to a task almost guarantees it’ll be done safely and quickly.
Jeff Fabre (SpaceHamster): If Austin is goofy then Jeff is bonkers. He has a penchant for escalation when things get silly, but when it’s time to lay out the logistics, Jeff becomes calm and collected. A competent adventurer, Jeff is arguably the most reliable before, during, and after a fight to get the job done.
Jared Knabenbauer (ProJared): Jared is the definition of ‘always on’; if there’s fantasy to be sold you can expect him to captivate. He’s level-headed and roguish in planning and approach, but when it goes down and friends are in danger, there’s few more determined to assist to the bitter end.
Ray Narvaez Jr.: Ray’s the boisterous and confident explorer who can get himself into terrible situations as deftly as he escapes them. I say confident, but he’s so deadpan it’s difficult to tell if he’s bluffing. He’s thoroughly capable in all areas of adventure, but greed can sometimes get the best of him.

Lava in the Nether has similar properties to water. Plus getting onto a block would be hard, and lava would enter the place where he would have dug.

That and also with them panicking behind him, he probably turned to see what it was, probably to help, but unless Ray blocked the lava almost immediately, the lava would have killed Dean unless someone told Dean to go forward or something.

OMG. THE DIAMOND SWORDS ARE CAUSING EVERYONE'S DEATH!
The final boss is going to be a giant, lava-sprewing spider with Jared's diamond sword.
1st death: Involved a block that slowed down the victim's movement (cobweb)
2nd death: Involved a block that slowed down the victim's movement (lava)
3rd death: Involved a block that slowed down the victim's movement (lava)
Movement inhibition is the true enemy of season 5.
This guy gets it.
I'll just wait for soul sand to kill someone. And then water. And then a witch that throws a splash potion of slowness.
Invenblocker The 6th death also, kinda. When checking a furnace, you can't move.
Thomas Joosten The 7th death might count too, as being trapped in a tiny area prevents you from moving much at all.

Jeff came up with the idea of digging inside the nether in the first place.
technically yes its Ray's fault althought it is his first HC Minecraft. They stated earlier that digging in the nether is dangerous and lava flows faster. They Should have only had Dean digging in case of Lava he could easily retreat. When I saw Ray digging around while Dean was ahead I knew it was going to be bad because you shouldnt be digging in the nether like you are in the home world, like exploring a cave and digging up iron, coal and cobblestone. They Should know any moment they could die there. I am deeply sadded because I have been waiting a long time for a new season of Minecraft HQ and asked PBG on twitter alot about it. What I can see from the preveiw of the next episode....well God have mercy on them for the search of nether worts

The reason Dean keeps dying all the time is because "Dean" is just one letter away from "Dead". It's simply meant to be.

They were searching for nether wart. Additionally, blaze rods are needed to make blaze powder, which is required for eyes of ender, which are needed to enter the end. The Nether IS needed.

I'm honestly surprised. Out of all the ways he could've died, it wasn't even his own fault. He was playing pretty safe this time. He's definitely improved a lot. And there was no blaming from him, though I'm willing to bet he went nuts in their Discord afterwards.
I feel bad for Ray, though. He seems to feel really bad about it :/ It wasn't your fault, dude!

I feel bad for Dean. He WAS playong really safe, and you can see, as soon as he hears Ray and Jeff yelling in fear, he had his sword in hand, and turned around. Most likely to help his friends.
And Ray's "I'M SO SORRY!" is also VERY heartbreaking.
Still not as heartbreaking as "TAKE THE SWORD!"...I'm still upset that they didn't get it.

I can't believe all 3 deaths could have been avoided
You can say that for any death in Minecraft Hardcore besides McJones' in season 1, but nobody's perfect, some of these deaths seem pretty hard to avoid.
Well all deaths can be avoided but this season was the worst Barry didn't need to jump into the nest Jared was mining in front of lava and there was spider noises for a long time and if dean went backwards insted of going forward he might have survied
Barry didn't jump into the nest, he was trying to break the spawner and a Cave Spider hit him from behind. When mining, you ignore mob noises a lot as they usually are behind blocks. Dean didn't know there was lava behind him, all he heard was his friend screaming, he turns around to figure out what's happening and by that point, he's already halfway through the lava.
Dean could have survived if PBG and McJones were there, since they know from experience you shouldn't dig in the Nether. Barry was fucked, but they didn't need to go to the mineshaft in the first place. Jared was too careless and should've been more careful.

If they hadn't started freaking out over the lava then Dean wouldn't have turned around and he wouldve been fine because the lava didn't flow back.

The lava _did_ flow the other way. But, if dean would've backed up, he may have instinctively placed blocks to keep the Lava away. Going forward as he did, there was nothing that could've been done.

That was a pretty pointless death to be honest. There was really no reason to keep on digging that much, as the fortress doesn't generate in that way.

Something I notice about Dean is he’s always the loudest player but before this season his final words were always surprisingly calm / not as loud?

You can't regen faster than burning in lava...
A) The lava was already blocked, it just needed to finish flowing.
B) Dean didn't know lava was the problem. He heard the others scream and turned around to help them.
C) Lava kills you way too fast, even with diamond armor, for regen to even be a factor.

I kinda think it's Ray and Jeff's fault for Dean's death. When the lava came out, all they said was "OH OH OH OH OH" so that probably made Dean think there was a mob or something, since they didn't mention the lava until he was in it.

I like how even when the missing team members are blacked out Jared and Barry are still there. Like they're always with them.
Does anybody else really hate the sweeping edge attack with the sword, it causes more problems then it solves. For example the pigmem getting pissed when you aren't trying to attack them

I think Jeff is a murderer and works with spiders.
He "couldn't" help barry.
He knew the spider would knock Jared in so he didn't get the danger water. He even said first one with diamond sword will die.
And now Dean he must have planted the lava. Or a spider planted the lava.
I've really been enjoying the prolific use of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross music!
I just kept thinking, "Gosh DANG are they not being careful when digging!" XD Oh well... Another great episode with great music (never get tired of the Chrono Cross). I am definitely looking forward to next time with that preview!

Avery Parker based of what next the next time showed us, we can see that 5 mobs are attacking them 4 pigman and 1 zombie, we can asume Mc Jones killed the first hostle one and the other 3 will be whipped out with out death as long as the work as a team and act quickly, as for finding nether wart is not required it's only for potions they don't need it it would only help

Idea for next season: have 8 people in 2 teams of 4, each team is against the other and can can kill the others if they wish, if one team dies, the other team must complete the main objective in order to win. It'd be a challenge of the world and eachother.

So far, they're being really stupid in the nether. PBG ignored the existence of sweep attack TWICE. Everybody keeps digging through netherrack, knowing that there's lava between some blocks (and ended up losing Dean because of that). Also, digging through the netherrack in a fortress is not going to take you to another part of the fortress. It would be better if they tried to dig a way down or up. And the most stupid part... are they REALLY trying to find another fortress? Those things are RARE. They're all going to die before finding one. It would be better to keep exploring the one they were in (Even divided in two groups, it seems like they only explored a small area).
So, my final prediction: Everybody dies next episode. RIP Minecraft HC #5. See you guys in MineZ HC #2!

So far, pbg has been responsible for pissing off the pigmen every single time. Looks like he does it again next episode lol.
I don't mind Dean being dead. He got the same treatment he gave Barry... Slowly dying while someone stands idly by and watches. This is karma, Dean. You should have saved your friend instead of just standing there silently as he was devoured by cave spiders.
He had 3 hearts. There was little that Dean could do without endangering his own life as well.
People still think Barry's death was Dean's fault? Dean was the ONLY ONE WHO HELPED Barry. There were 2 spiders. Dean killed the one from behind while at 3 hearts risking death while Barry didn't eat his steak and instead moved into the spider's range and got himself killed. Dean would've hit barry, killing him if he tried to break the web. Dean did what he could, yelling for others with more health to come help.
Proton Toad Meh, I didn't really expect my comment to be taken seriously. I don't take this series that seriously. I mean, it's not like Barry literally died or anything. What I said was in jest.
And I guess that indeed part of the blame falls upon the terrible "sweep attack" that some moron decided to put in the game, which does nothing but make you accidentally hit your friends or non-hostile pigmen.
Willcraft let's just hope the karma for the others watching doesn't catch up to them...
