    5:55 I like how you've mounted a vacuum nozzle pretty much as close as possible to the cutter, but the foam chips are just like "Nah, I'll think we'll do our thing and just fly everywhere."

    I love the cross-pollination of ideas here. Keith made the cool rugs. Ryan made a great drawing. You made a giant scale 3D sculpture. Awesome all around! Great tip on buying paint samples. I'll have to remember that one. Thanks for sharing!

    I've been interested in fiberglass for a while, and here's a tip I've learned. If you lay down a layer of resin first, then the fiberglass, it will wet out better and faster.

      I've read that, but I was convinced the resin would have just beaded up on that foam.

      I’m interested in what kind of resin you used. I have tried fiberglassing over pink foam and I’ve found that the resin ‘melts’ the foam somewhat. I see two types… polyester or epoxy. Which did you use in this video???

    I don't know who the marketing guy from Total boat is but he's a genius. Their stuff is on nearly every you tube channel I'm subbed to .

    14:27 actually it comes in two sheens, flat and eggshell I believe. I buy it all the time.

      I guess maybe it depends on the location, then. Mine only has eggshell, but they made it sound like that's all that exists.

    If you alternate between pumps of resin and hardener you don't need to count and can never lose track. This has the side benefit of giving each pump time to fully return to the top so you get a more accurate measure.

    I remember this summer I was at a job site talking to the Realtor about what needed to be done and I actually said "I watched a couple RUclips videos" and qualified it with "I can't believe I'm going to say this out loud"... Both of us burst out laughing and she said "Yeah I did too." It was absolutely hilarious. Did it right and got the job done too 😁

    Brilliant. I love the way the eyeballs are in front of the glasses. Great transformation into 3D. Now I have three of my favorite makers to refer to if I need to do fiberglass.

    Fantastic project. I work with this foam a bit and I learned a few things. The layered foam with a notch in the middle layers for posts/sticks is how I do a lot of my sign work. I want to make something like this now for the exterior of my shed. Thanks for the inspiration sir! Great video.

    There is a version of Super 77 spray that is made with acetone, it melts through foam like Alien blood goes through titanium.

    I love it! Love all the footage and tips too but this popsicle head of yours is awesome!!! I think it’d be fun to do one of all your fellow woodworking buddies like Micheal Alm, Frank Howarth, etc. and no the colors aren’t exact of your hair and eyes but it’s easily identifiable as 👉🏼 You!

    might be time to upgrade the dust collection on the CNC, that little hose isnt really doing you any favors... not that 4" will pull dust away from the cut with no problems (with a good collector). great tip on the sample jars, didnt even know they did that.

      It works fine with the shoe, but I couldn't attach it given the depth of the carve.

    Ive been wanting to turn my gorilla logo into one of these for a while to use on a tshirt, but it never occured to me to make a gigantic real life version. This is pretty excellent and Im not gonna lie, Im kinda jealous :D

      I've made small boats with the exact same materials. With the low density foam crushing the core and durability can be a problem.

      That’s how they make surfboards, higher density foam, shaped by handsaws and other woodworking tools. Some are starting to use CNC shaping.
