5:55 I like how you've mounted a vacuum nozzle pretty much as close as possible to the cutter, but the foam chips are just like "Nah, I'll think we'll do our thing and just fly everywhere."
You knock it out of the park with every project/video Wesley! The projects are always awesome, but your editing style is what puts you in a class by yourself!
I love the cross-pollination of ideas here. Keith made the cool rugs. Ryan made a great drawing. You made a giant scale 3D sculpture. Awesome all around! Great tip on buying paint samples. I'll have to remember that one. Thanks for sharing!
I've been interested in fiberglass for a while, and here's a tip I've learned. If you lay down a layer of resin first, then the fiberglass, it will wet out better and faster.
I’m interested in what kind of resin you used. I have tried fiberglassing over pink foam and I’ve found that the resin ‘melts’ the foam somewhat. I see two types… polyester or epoxy. Which did you use in this video???
It's because @totalboat is a great company to work with! They're always really helpful in figuring out these projects and getting us the right materials for the job.
3:06 I hope you're recovered from that tablesaw kickback to the spleen. From the footage, it looks like the armored PPE hoodie might have really paid off. 🙃
If you alternate between pumps of resin and hardener you don't need to count and can never lose track. This has the side benefit of giving each pump time to fully return to the top so you get a more accurate measure.
OMG that's too funny 🤣 I remember this summer I was at a job site talking to the Realtor about what needed to be done and I actually said "I watched a couple RUclips videos" and qualified it with "I can't believe I'm going to say this out loud"... Both of us burst out laughing and she said "Yeah I did too." It was absolutely hilarious. Did it right and got the job done too 😁
Brilliant. I love the way the eyeballs are in front of the glasses. Great transformation into 3D. Now I have three of my favorite makers to refer to if I need to do fiberglass.
I had zero interest in watching someone make an Popsicle of their head, but I have never not been entertained by a Wesley Treat video, so I said, "what the hell?". I enjoyed it and I learned a few things, which really didn't surprise me. I appreciate the videos! Thanks Wesley!
Wow 🤩 that’s pretty cool. 😂 I don’t think I ever would need my head that big. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep Making. God bless.
Fantastic project. I work with this foam a bit and I learned a few things. The layered foam with a notch in the middle layers for posts/sticks is how I do a lot of my sign work. I want to make something like this now for the exterior of my shed. Thanks for the inspiration sir! Great video.
Watching your video gave me an idea for your shop to add to your awesome projects.have you ever thought of building yourself a downdraft table for sanding and painting. Great video Wes you are indeed an amazing maker your videos never disappoint
Wesley, didn’t get a chance to talk with you a Maker Camp this year but I really enjoy your work! This video was so entertaining that I could have watched it if was 40 minutes long! This idea has opened the door of projects going on in my head!
Great project & awesome Popsicle. But, I have these song lyrics running around in my head "Money is for nothing & kicks for free". There's a voice that keeps repeating "I want my MTV". Must be because I'm old. 😁
I love it! Love all the footage and tips too but this popsicle head of yours is awesome!!! I think it’d be fun to do one of all your fellow woodworking buddies like Micheal Alm, Frank Howarth, etc. and no the colors aren’t exact of your hair and eyes but it’s easily identifiable as 👉🏼 You!
might be time to upgrade the dust collection on the CNC, that little hose isnt really doing you any favors... not that 4" will pull dust away from the cut with no problems (with a good collector). great tip on the sample jars, didnt even know they did that.
Ive been wanting to turn my gorilla logo into one of these for a while to use on a tshirt, but it never occured to me to make a gigantic real life version. This is pretty excellent and Im not gonna lie, Im kinda jealous :D
You've sold out, now you're just chasing the Big Lolly on RUclips 🤣 I'm not sure this joke translates well. Lolly in UK means a popsicle 🍭 but also means lots of money 💰 When you have to explain a joke, you failed your audience. I'm sorry. I'll try harder next time.
It’s a great day when a Wesley Treat video drops, Friday just got even better
Spreading the epoxy with a popsicle stick was poetic
I was expecting a cut of him licking the stick clean and then a giant disclaimer about not eating resin.
5:55 I like how you've mounted a vacuum nozzle pretty much as close as possible to the cutter, but the foam chips are just like "Nah, I'll think we'll do our thing and just fly everywhere."
You’re def one of the best makers on RUclips, I always enjoy your content.
Appreciate it!

I guess one could say - you saved face with this project. 🤪
this is one of the most charming things ive seen! the guy who designed that image must be flattered.
I've been interested in fiberglass for a while, and here's a tip I've learned. If you lay down a layer of resin first, then the fiberglass, it will wet out better and faster.
I've read that, but I was convinced the resin would have just beaded up on that foam.
I’m interested in what kind of resin you used. I have tried fiberglassing over pink foam and I’ve found that the resin ‘melts’ the foam somewhat. I see two types… polyester or epoxy. Which did you use in this video???

thx
"Make it big with FIBERGLASS," from the thumbnail, makes my heart swell with American pride!
I don't know who the marketing guy from Total boat is but he's a genius. Their stuff is on nearly every you tube channel I'm subbed to .
It's because @totalboat is a great company to work with! They're always really helpful in figuring out these projects and getting us the right materials for the job.
14:27 actually it comes in two sheens, flat and eggshell I believe. I buy it all the time.
I guess maybe it depends on the location, then. Mine only has eggshell, but they made it sound like that's all that exists.
@@WesleyTreat very true, different parts of the country may offer different choices. By the way I loved your video

for those that want more than one sheen, I'm pretty sure the big orange box has samples in more than one.
"...in case somebody else wants to draw me." Lmao! Turned out awesome...just like all your projects!
OMG that's too funny 🤣

I think the RUclips makers secret Santa needs some of this energy next year!
Ladies and Gentlemen, he's done it again. Another awesome project and amazing video!
So great!! Congratulations!
What a Treat.
Wesley Treat turned himself into a Wesley Treat.
I love how you can laugh at yourself
Brilliant. I love the way the eyeballs are in front of the glasses. Great transformation into 3D. Now I have three of my favorite makers to refer to if I need to do fiberglass.

Great fun piece of work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So true it is Dec 13th 10ish a.m 66° and climbing
Why, oh why did I have to wait until the end of the video for the ice cream Treat pun? Thank you for another great video!
It's amazing. I love it, and now I'm trying to figure out how to make one of myself....
This build is sure looking like a snack!
...I'll show myself out.

Very COOL, thanks for the video
Thanks for the discount code!
Truly inspiring, as always.
It’s the Wesley Frozen Treat.
Good work mate
2:54 I still miss the Jetson's sound byte....
There is a version of Super 77 spray that is made with acetone, it melts through foam like Alien blood goes through titanium.
Wesley, didn’t get a chance to talk with you a Maker Camp this year but I really enjoy your work! This video was so entertaining that I could have watched it if was 40 minutes long! This idea has opened the door of projects going on in my head!

Icecream Treat.....
How did i not see that coming? :-D
I can't wait until you move on to 4D carving!
You look great!
Great project & awesome Popsicle. But, I have these song lyrics running around in my head "Money is for nothing & kicks for free". There's a voice that keeps repeating "I want my MTV". Must be because I'm old. 😁
I laughed way harder at the "It's an ice-cream Treat" joke than I'm proud to admit
good job!
@2:15 ** warning don't watch with headphones** if you don't like the sound of squeaky foam!
Sorta reminds me of the old Night Court episode where Harry made the giant Groucho Marx glasses for the Statue of Liberty.
You're a mad man and I adore it.
Just realised the morse code at the end is "WT", nice touch. Ham radio enthusiast by any chance?
Credit goes to @ryanprice on IG!
this is such a cool and fun idea. the resin doesnt melt the pink foam tho??
might be time to upgrade the dust collection on the CNC, that little hose isnt really doing you any favors... not that 4" will pull dust away from the cut with no problems (with a good collector). great tip on the sample jars, didnt even know they did that.
It works fine with the shoe, but I couldn't attach it given the depth of the carve.
Would the resin have eaten through the polystyrene if you hadn’t covered it in fiberglass?
Talk about Brain Freeze! Thanks for being an inspiration to us all.
Ive been wanting to turn my gorilla logo into one of these for a while to use on a tshirt, but it never occured to me to make a gigantic real life version. This is pretty excellent and Im not gonna lie, Im kinda jealous :D
Wesley, was the spray you used to secure the foam pieces the 3M Super 77 Adhesive spray?
This is SO FUN! You crushed it!
Thanks to you and @xylafoxlin for the know-how!
I love it so much!! You look delicious!
You know it.
Well, as usual... Your videos are a TREAT!
Botal Toat!
You missed out on a great “excuse me while i blow my nose” joke after you sanded it down.
At 10:32, I almost certainly would have smeared a bunch of primer onto my shirt
2:30 noice
I kept doing it because it was so satisfying
0:44 Your CNC machine in Texas simulates what an earthquake looks like here in California. 😂
I saw what you did there. You fixed the popsicle stick with a popsicle stick
You should try to make an edible one next. Regular size.
I've been thinking about how I'd go about doing that
8:55 jimmy diresta and who?

Great job. What part of Texas you at? SE Texas here.
Thanks! Dallas area.
👍👍😎👍👍
At the end it was difficult to tell which Treat was which.
I'm sure this video is just a fever dream, I'll wake up in a minute.
Some might think it conceited to craft an enormous sculpture of ones self, so tell me, on completing this project did you end up with a big head?
I wonder if a boat can be made like that?
I've made small boats with the exact same materials. With the low density foam crushing the core and durability can be a problem.
Ah, yes I can see what you mean, I shall ponder on, thankyou.
That’s how they make surfboards, higher density foam, shaped by handsaws and other woodworking tools. Some are starting to use CNC shaping.
@@DavidLorenToshof course! that is so obvious now that I think of it, thankyou!
Wesley "Frozen" Treat.
Should have got Xyla to give you a hand!
I know a lot of RUclipsrs get big heads but this is ridiculous! 😁
bubalo bill style
Botal Toat
I would eat that.
Ok so you really (not really) should be making a kayak. You know you’ve made it on RUclips if you post a kayak build. Just ask Jimmy and Neil :)
I'm disappointed the back wasn't done. :(

Those eyes are way too accurately placed. One needs to be down on your cheek.

I love what all you can craft with it, but lord almighty I HATE STYROFOAM!
Seems a little narcissistic if you ask me.
No one did 🤷♂️
