After training with Fledge for 120 days, Elisa was able to purchase him at Auction (check out the video...it's another tear-jerker). Elisa and Fledge continue to train together, and will be doing demos over the next year, including one at the 2013 Southern Horse Bonanza in Murfreesboro, TN March 8 - 10, 2013. She'll also be competing in the Mustang Million in Fort Worth, TX September 16-22, 2013.
Elisa is that lucky person! She was able to win Fledge at auction, and plans to continue working with this talented horse long into the future. We're all very excited to see what they get up to next.
I really want to be like you Elisa. I'm so jealous that you get to do this, but I am so happy you found your soul mate in this wild mustang. Congratulations!
Nah. I found bareback easier actually- but then I had to learn to ride bareback before I was allowed to use a saddle, so maybe that is why, and been riding since 5 yrs old. I usually rode with a simple bosal hackamore- they have no bit, just nose band and a strap supporting it that runs up behind ears. All my horses could be guided as well by leg pressure and I could ride a cutting horse bareback- they can almost turn around and swap directions right under you. I have trained my own horses- from very start to finish on a couple, although some were halter broke when I started with them. You ought to watch the movie Wild Horse Wild Ride (Full Doc) Mustang Makeover Challenge which you can see here on RUclips if you really want to see some awesomely finished mustangs.
Wow. I have seen freestyle mustang make overs and a lot of show in it... But this one ? This one was simple - yet moved my heart and made me cry! What a bond!!!! Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually Fledge feed off the crowd and really, we were both so focused on each other that I never heard the woo. It was just picked up on the video. As there is another version and you can just hear the crowd. The wooer--is a good friend and supporter, she actually asked me about what was appropriate and I told her the louder the better. Well she is a good student I guess ;)
I'm SO happy she was able to adopt him! I was there and this totally brought tears to my eyes. She was AMAZING!!!! I hope to see more of her in the future!
I'm so glad that you got to keep him. Then we all know for sure that he went to a good home. Excellent job. When I was reading that article I was preparing myself for the horrible news if some other person out-bid you in the action. Then God only knows if he went to a good home. I'm so, so happy to see a good ending and that you got to keep your friend. I bet Fledge is happy too.
This was truly amazing, you and Fledge deserved this, It would be my dream one day to do this, it's breathtaking how a horse and rider can form a bond in such a short time, especially a mustang! Great job!
Sometimes when im bored or sad, i just go to this channel and watch your amazing work with fledge. it's fantastic how you have trained him with trust and love and dedication, not once did i see you fool that horse by forcing pain or making him panic. horses cant learn when they are in fight or flight mode. noone can, and by keeping calm, im sure thats why you hd the sucsess :)
Wow. What a great partnership those two have! And thank you Elisa for being a role model and wearing a helmet among all those cowboy hats! I ride both English and Western and wear a helmet no matter what. It's great to see a trainer set a great example! Congrats to you both!
The first 30 days I played with him twice a day 20-30 min, and then just hanging out with him. Then it was once a day he would get worked about 5 days a week. And he would get a week break when I felt he needed some rest and we would just hang out together. He is truly special. I just love my little mustang!
I have watched this video many, many times and it makes me cry every time. You have had fancier mustangs through the years, but Fledge gives you EVERYTHING! It is a joy to see.
im sooo happy for u i just watched ur entire time with fledge and i started crying at the end when y'all won. you and him were awesome. y'all definitely deserved first place. with all y'all went through with getting him, to taking him off the trailer, to first getting on him, to going on the trails, to teaching him tricks, and to winning the mustand makeover. good job y'all were awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of all the Mustang Makeover performances on RUclips, this is the best I've seen. What I really liked was that several disciplines were superbly demonstrated at a high level, amazingly so with only a neck strap in the Freestyle final. There were no fancy dresses or props, just pure horsemanship (those big dresses often hiding saddles, stirrups and spurs...).
OMG Every time I watch this I tear up.!! I'd love to meet ur folks, n thank them for bringing u into this world. I can truly see the love u have for our horses. And great job by the cheering section, to help bring home the higher scores. LOVE IT.!!!!
That was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, I am a little apprehensive learning to jump on the mare I trust, yet she trusted that horse enough to not only ride but Jump bareback and bridle-less. The trust and bonds showed in that preformance were amazing.
For some reason, this video left me sobbing uncontrollably -- the way old videos of Secretariat always leave me in a puddle of tears. Beautiful! PS: I was not crying because of the "WHOO, WHOO" lady; I rather like her and have been known to whoo-hoo-hoo a bit when watching my friends in jump-offs.
wow. If you all really appreciated what all was going on in this performance ..not to mention take a look at her work with Fledge from the beginning ..you shouldn't even be noticing the shouting ..damn ...if I were there I may have been even more annoying than that. Good job guys !! You both make the perfect team ..horse(woman) ship at it best. KUDOS wooooooooohoooooooooooooooooo !! :) :)
I just think it's so fantastic to see a horse without any tack being ridden, you are a Huge Inspiration Elisa to everyone all around the world who rides or trains horses, this is one lucky horse and your are one Beautiful lady :o)
no they dont have time to bond they get the horse and train it thats no relationship so what she can gallop a hors ebare back all that matters it a real bond i when you horse rears in its stall for you not to leave becuse thats my hors emy horses rears in his stall for me
+Dena-Alba Alba-Dena fine then are you a horse owner a trainer if not I don't think you know much you dumb your a not right think what ever you want because IM RIGHT
To ride any horse with no tack at all in a large arena, with a large crowd is a major accomplishment in itself, but to ride a horse that had never been touched just 100 days before is just indescribable.
To piggy back on other posts, my tears are flowing. Outstanding job of love, devotion and all the hard work behind the beautiful performances. Wish I could be like you. LOL
Congradulations Elisa! You and Fledge did a great job. I'm very happy for you getting Fledge at auction. It seemed early on with your videos there was a special bond developing between the two of you. Fledge is a special horse.
I loved this so much! I cried too, knowing obviously how much this meant to you. I so badly wish I had a horse of my own, just to be able to feel the wind in my hair again... the most freeing feeling in the world. I think that what you do as a trainer with these mustangs is the absolute best and I love your channel so much!
This video just turned up in my recommendations. This is the first video I saw from your channel in 2012, but on an old account I had. And even though I’ve changed accounts I’ve followed you since then, it brought me tears back then and it still brings me to tears today. I love following all your adventures, especially with the mustangs. But Fledge will probably always be my favorite, although a bit chubbier now I’m sure he’s enjoying life at your farm.
It's good to see another mustang be able to do this. I trained a mustang myself called A Second Chance or Chan for short. I thought he was untrainable but he proved me wrong now jumping at 1M 45 classes and came overall winner in a event in Ireland! It proves horses can change
Wow, had me tearing up. I love that you are wearing a helmet. I really enjoyed seeing the different disciplines in your freestyle. I was surprised when I saw the passage! Great job!!
I own a BLM mustang. The best horse I've ever owned. Never had an aspect of trust so strong. Thanks for promoting the versatility of these WONDERFUL animals!!!
You should have kept the mustang. That horse loved you so much! This demonstrates the unbreakable bond between horses and their riders. I love your videos girl!
absolutely amazing!!!! i hope my horse is as amazing as yours one day, i cried watching this video after all the others. good luck in your future with fledge!!! :')
I understood a lot of the horses for EMM last year were delivered underweight into the EMM program. Many came from the LTH facility at Teeterville, OK but that facility has a good reputation so I don't know if they just didn't thrive after roundup or if there was some other issue going on. Regardless, I think he's awesome and you both deserved the win.
That was so impressive way to go Elisa!!! And for all the people who have such a problem with the wild horse being domesticated at least they no longer go hungry in the dry season or the winter, when it's cold and raining they have a shelter there feet are cared for and they don't have to worry about predators you watch the partnership between these two given the choice I doubt that horse would go back!
He was just 3yo and measured 13.2 1/2hds and pretty under weight when I got him.He made a huge transformation through his body in a very short amount of time. The before and after pictures are pretty fun to look at. He now currently measures just a smigen under 14hds and still has some more growing to do!
On your G+ account page, there was such a nice head shot of Fledge, that I thought of putting him in my next icon of St. Demetrios. I think he will be wearing tack, but we can all know that it is only there for the added bling; he doesn't really need it :) So thanks for inspiring me, as I haven't been that motivated to work on art, lately. (ps, it will be a different style than St. George here on my profile, a little more realistic.)

@ Elisa, going back over old stuff...still brings me to tears...Fledge is a LEGEND!!! LOVE AND PEACE IN THIS UNCERTAIN TIME.
I really want to be like you Elisa. I'm so jealous that you get to do this, but I am so happy you found your soul mate in this wild mustang. Congratulations!
Riding bareback and with only a rope (not even a halter, much less a bridle) is a impressive feat.
But jumping like that takes SKILL!
After training a wild mustang for 100 days!!
do you know who is Alicia Burton if you don't check her out on you tube
Check Alicia Burton, you'll probably like her :p
equarg yeah u haven't seen alicia

Why do I feel the urge to cry?
I don't know but I feel it too! 😭
Because of that WOOOOOO ING woman 😂😂😂😂
Same
I actually did😂😻
Me too

That horse loves you so much!! His head was up high! So glad you two won!!!
This made me cry ! WOW !
I have watched this video many, many times and it makes me cry every time. You have had fancier mustangs through the years, but Fledge gives you EVERYTHING! It is a joy to see.

I shut off the sound...that screaming lady was too much!
The horses all deserve extra points for putting up with that!
dang i'll shoot that girl screaming woooh all the time xD
I agree
That's what it sounds like when people are having a good time and appreciating what they're seeing
That was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, I am a little apprehensive learning to jump on the mare I trust, yet she trusted that horse enough to not only ride but Jump bareback and bridle-less. The trust and bonds showed in that preformance were amazing.

Oh congratulations, you did a fantastic job. Actually, I'd say you were both outstanding. Much respect.
This brought me to tears!!! Such an amazing bond between the rider and horse. A well deserved win!

Remember these were Native American Horses once upon a time. Very nice showmanship !! I applaud the work you do and the work you done with your Horse.
I absolutely love bareback and bridleless. Excellent partnership ❤️
This is so so so beautiful. Had me in tears. So, so beautiful.
The freestyle round was my favourite. really shows your trust, beautiful work together.

I LITERALLY STARTED CRYING amazing!!!! :)

I cried!! She did SUCH a fantastic job!! I wish I had a horse...
you deserved to win...well done
Happy tears here!!
These videos.make me.emotional
fantastic horsemanship on all counts they all did well !
Fledge is a 3yo Mustang from the Maverick-Medicine herd, in Elko Nevada, captured 8/11/2011
Nobody:
The lady the whole time: *WOOOO*
So glad she got to keep him! :)
I believe they are!! I saw something on FB about it.
wow! that is an absolutely beautiful couple! wish all riding looked like that, so harmonic! :)
So well done.
i would either. it seems extremely difficult to 'sit' a sliding stop with just your seat. if it's with a saddle you have the support of the stirrups.
