One thing I've always noticed with your mustangs and horses in general, is that no matter how much training you do with them, they always keep spirit in their eyes. Too often now I see shut down horses, but you allow them to be who they are. It's very refreshing to see. Thank you.

We bid on Rue at the sale but stopped right before the other pool won... She is so incredible and so are you. I can't believe i actually got to see her in my town with my own eyes after seeing her on a screen for so long. I know those ladies are enjoying her and you inspire me so much Sam. You showed Roulette love and passion and without you she would be nothing like the amazing mare she is now. Love from back in Fort Worth

Jesus I was not expecting to cry so early in the morning! You did SUCH a lovely job with this mare and it shows. Your patience and skill were exactly what she needed, she responded so well to you. It seemed like the moment she decided to trust you, that was it, she was going to try anything you asked. I don't know if anyone else could have developed that kind of trust with her. What a great foundation for a horse to have. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to let her go, it is clear how much you love her

Charging a horse is the worst thing you can ever do. Especially when it's wild. The horse was very senistive, and sometimes she was really mean and violent towards it. That's not how you bond with a horse, like literally running after it with a wip like an idiot.

In my experience, if a horse wants to trust you, you need to want to show it how to trust you. If you want a real bond you spend as long as possible just getting to know each other. Just being together shows the horse that you are willing to show it your trust and to let them do the same. I could never get rid of any of my mustangs. Ever. I love them too much to make them go through more change. Its amazing how you just got that bond. She trusts you and that’s amazing in that you can get her to that point in 100 days. Amazing. 😉

I have learned a ton by watching how you handled Roulette. Thanks for the early videos with her - with all of the narration.
I am getting a rescue. She has been with the rescue for five years. She orphaned and was bottle fed by them. She started in a training program for the rescue makeover, but OCD forced her to be a back up.

This is so beautiful it makes me cry. I'm getting a little older now and a little disappointed with myself for letting everything and everyone else distract me from the one thing I always ever wanted (to have and work with horses). I guess I must have excepted this notion that being a horse person is mostly reserved for the people who grew up "well off" and naturally did well after HS sliding right into satisfying and good paying jobs.
Let myself down😔, but it is SO wonderful and exciting still, to see others doing what I can only dream I might one day still be able to do.😍

Never to late sister !!! You can go volunteer at a rescue center for horses possibly in exchange for some basic lessons... or find a gentle older experienced horse that you could rent to go on a trail ride with... there’s still options !!! I will keep riding until I can’t walk !

I missed you completely at Fort Worth this past weekend. My daughter was showing her calf this weekend, so we were out there the whole time.
I couldn't get off work early enough to go watch the prelims, and when my wife and I stopped by your stall on Saturday, you weren't around. I was really hoping to see you perform on Saturday night after following your progress videos.
It was a really tough field, with a ton of talent. My whole family attended both Friday night and Saturday night shows.
(as much as I love watching Bobby Kerr, my wife and I both thought that either Dan or Maddy should have taken Friday night. They were absolutely amazing. Saturday night could have gone with either Dan or Bobby, and everyone did a fantastic job again)
As long as y'all keep coming to Fort Worth; my family and I will be there to watch and support. We're saving up for some land, and plan to buy a mustang at one of the auctions.

These videos are awesome! If I didn’t live in the city I’d definitely adopting one of these beautiful mustangs.

Beautifully done Sam. Followed you through the Internet site during the competition. Glad she found a home. Keep up the great work with your mustangs. That pic should be on your Web site.

Now this mare took my breath away I can see why you chose her Sam, beauty and brains! I could hardly wait for each video to see the exchanges between you 2. Didn't matter to me whether she made the top 10 either knowing where she was at 120 days earlier and a 6 yr. old ? Rue is awesome in my book . Just goes to show that a "3 strike" horse not only can be trained but can also excel at anything put in front of them with the right partner.

Shes a special horse.....a warrior she is💗it must be amazing to ( unfortunately) get these mustangs from the wild, then gentle them, earn there trust, and make a team together. Its amazing, and I can only imagine more amazing in person. Her knew owner looked thrilled! So happy for her, good job!💞
