    I produced this show. How nice that it has re-emerged on RUclips. I was very proud of it at the time, and disappointed it never went to series. ITV had a downer on magic at the time, then of course, tragically, Wayne became too ill to do this kind of show. He was wonderful to work with.

    This is why I prefer micromagic/close-up magic over any other type of magic performance. One gets better responses from the spectator as they are right there in front of you. And even greater responses when one performs the magic in spectators hands. Nicely done Wayne Dobson and Tommy Wonder ᵔᴥᵔ ★★★★★

    Tommy Wonder is just that! He's a master of slight of hand and distraction. One of the best ever! Look up Hannible the Magician, he works off of some of Tommy Wonders tricks and adds something new to them as his own.

    Thanks for this fine piece of WDs magic. So sad he could’t continue. Also Tommy Wonder was one my favorite magicians and I have some of his tricks. I also do some of Waynes routines too.

    I too am sad to hear that it never was picked up for syndication. Thanks Tony Nicholson for that information. Seeing it for the 1st time here, I began to get excited hoping it had been. I also wish it had. It is also good to see Dobson up and walking about. I have never seen any of his early work. This is very nice. And to see Tommy Wonder back then too was an extra bonus. Too bad we have lost him entirely except for such memories as these. Thanks so much Michael Sullivan for posting it.

    When we had real talent on our TV's, instead of crap dressed up as it.

    • @24magiccarrot
      @24magiccarrot 3 года назад +1

      The lack of real talent is a result of the death of working clubs, performers of all sorts were able to hone their craft in front of real audiences and make a living before making it on to tv, 30-40 years ago the acts you saw on tv were as a result of years of perfecting their skills and routines in front of audiences and being able to make changes as they went before getting anywhere near a tv performance.
      Now there is nowhere for people to practice their craft and producers demand instant success as such you end up with performers that appeal to the lowest common denominator rather than any real skill.
      Now it's almost impossible for an up and comer to find anywhere to perform without being seriously out of pocket as they'd have to travel further and further to find enough variety clubs to perform when before there would likely be 5 or 6 clubs within their town so even if they were an unpaid open spot it would only cost the price to travel locally to be able to get experience, where as now you have to travel several miles and likely would need to stay overnight for no money just to gain some experience a cost that many very talented people may not be able to afford.

    What is the coincidence trick, ending with 'Back Soon' called? More so, the second half of the trick @ 11:21, where the bottom cards match (not the first half with the Sharpie)

      bRad Nichols lots of reasons.. its why i like 'bag for life' so much, you give them something to remember you and the magic. Like a business card, and it feels good giving gifts.
