This would be for a linear regression right? What about for a non linear regression like logarithmic or polynomial, is there a method to do it with multiple independent variables in Excel?
I don't believe there is.
Doesn't work when I do it. Just returns an error dialog box.

There are a number reasons that you might get an error message.
1. Are there any missing data? Blank cells in the input ranges will create an error.
2. Do you have enough data? You need to have more data points (lines of data) than you do independent variables. Usually, you need many times more lines of data.
3. Do the ranges of data for the IV and DV have the same number of lines? If not, you'll get an error message.
4. Do all the cells contain only numeric data? If a cell has "12 years" rather than "12", you'll get an error message.
There are other things that can go wrong as well. If you'd like, you can send me a screen shot of the error message, a screen shot of your input of the Data Analysis, and your data set and I'll take a look at it.
