  • Founded c. 1350, Ayutthaya became the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai. It was destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century. Its remains, characterized by the prang (reliquary towers) and gigantic monasteries, give an idea of its past splendour.

    It's the replication of Ayodhya.The king is named after lord Rama and regarded as the decendent of Lord Rama himself.

    Being a semi expert on this City and it’s history, almost every single date in this video are hundreds of years off corresponding with the construction of temples or the reign of kings, other than that it is a unique presentation of description of the essence of the city

      Okay... well I’m Thai, and I can say that Angkor empire inspired Ayutthaya in many way... I’m glad you use the word “took” and not copy... because we’ve won the battle and we deserved the credit

      @@66865592721 yes, our ancestors came later in the area then became the major power in South East Asia at that time... we conquered Laos, large part of Cambodia, southern part of Myanmar, little bit of Vietnam, and northern state of Malaysia...(later some northern state in Myanmar) that’s our greatest expanded
