A most useful instructional video since in the near future I have to install a VHF radio used when doing security patrols on farms in South Africa. There is an upgrade that I saw somewhere of a rack mounted on the inside of the roof just behind the headrest of the driver and in front of the passenger seats. That struck me as a possible place to mount a radio in the Jimny where a clear line-of-sight is required to the display on the face of the radio and where the radio itself has a speaker on the bottom that must at least be clearly audible to the driver and any passengers. I am eagerly awaiting your next video on the box were all the cables attached to the battery will terminate since that too is a problem I am faced with. Something you might bear in mind is that you seem to have access to a far wider range of innovative upgrades and options on the Jimny in Australia compared to Jimny owners in South Africa and the UK. I only learned of the existence of an extended 80 litres fuel tank a few days ago since I cannot recollect ever seeing something like that on the Jimny forums in the UK and South Africa that I follow. Point is, things that may appear run-of-the-mill to you in Australia might be exiting news to people elsewhere in the world and you might not always be aware of that. Using the soap trick on cables as well as a chopstick to pass things through the firewall are two tricks worth remembering, thanks for that! For the longest time I have used the soap bar rubbed against a screw thread whenever I wanted to screw anything into wood.
Fantastic video really enjoyed watching it. I’m glad you are still alive and have not blown up the Battery etc Lol. I can not wait I want a other 4 w d . All ways looking forward to watching your next video
GME do a magnetic mic mount for their hand unit that fits the TRL mount. The magnetic actually works really well too
I love your content ☺️ very informative. Got my Jimny a week ago and loving it
Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy it 😄

how did they connect the box to under the dash
That radio box is called a control module and without that you are stuffed as it connects the microphone, the power and the aerial
