I had one when I was 17 in Puerto Rico. Automatic transmission sucked, only 2 speeds and at 60mph engine revs were high. Engine was a BEAST. Changed oil maybe twice a year. Turn him up everyday revving the engine up to 6k rpm + and it never broke down. Engine was really abused and never had a hint of smoke.
I have one in Puerto Rico identically as yours, in the same color. It's a 1974 TE Corolla that is in the final stages of a full restoration i'm trying to leave the car as original as possible. The car is owned in my family since new. It was my parents car. Yours is a very complete and original car. In my opinion your car is the perfect candidate for a full resto to leave the car in the original shape. Let me tell you that at some point, i was considering to do a rotary engine swap in my car, but i later quit from the idea.
You did not show the best part, the gas cap is hidden behind the c pillar louver on the drivers side. I had the exact same car that I bought off my aunt in 78 (red one). I really wished for a manual but got such a good price I could not complain ($400.00).

Those were the days of the great era of Toyota’s reliability

Peanut 🥜 Corolla
I like this style better but to get them lowered its just a pain
It’s lowered it’s just have small 13inch wheels with 50 series low profile tires
@@deliciouslifetv7362 Oh I see!! sometimes they use technotoytuning suspension conversion with adjustable coilers.
🥜 cool
And yes this thing is rare nowadays in this condition.. 😎👍🏾
I almost bought a 4 door , 4speed manual but the seller couldn't provide a title
That could’ve been awesome to see a 4dr variant of the corolla since I haven’t seen one on the Japanese classic car show
Corolla for a peanut 🥜
