I love the Red Neocaridina ❤ i'm on my 3rd generation of them I started out with only 2 shrimp it went from 2 to almost 80 shrimp there also extremely hardy and very fun to look at I currently have them in a 10 gallon ecosystem tank with 5 Amazon sword plants and 4 java fern plants in a dirt capped sand substrate along side the shrimp live Malaysian trumpet snails, bladder snails and copepods
Great video Shrimply! Your angles and shots always bring it the best in your tanks. As far as low maintenance, I can't think of anything in aquaria bring lower maintenance except maybe resurrection jars. I know of plenty of people with heavily planted shrimp tanks that feed maybe once a week and a weekly water top off. I have fish, shrimp, cats, dogs and a young adult kid and my shrimp only tanks are easily the lowest input, lowest maintenance pets I keep! 🤣✌️
Thank you :) I've got a dog and multiple tanks and find that the tanks don't require much maintenance either but because I have quite a few, I'm always doing something or the other with one of them.
I'm going to have to start using an RO supplement to cut down on GH and Nitrate from my mains supply. Safest affordable way to keep the KH up? Bicarbonate soda?
Yes, using Bicarbonate of Soda is a common, affordable, and effective way to increase and maintain KH (carbonate hardness) in aquariums, especially when you're using RO (reverse osmosis) water, which tends to have very low KH. Bicarbonate of soda will raise the KH by increasing the levels of carbonate ions in the water, which helps stabilize pH and provides a buffer against pH swings. It's a popular choice because it’s inexpensive and widely available.

That's excellent to see that your shrimp colony is thriving. It's always a wonderful feeling when everything in your tank is working in harmony.
Very nice. I have to say your videography is most excellent. Have you ever disclosed what equipment you are using for filming? TY
I've only ever mentioned it in the comments. I use a Pixel 8 Pro.

Whats a good water conditioner for Neocaridina Shrimps?
I use Seachem Prime but Seachem Safe and API Aqua Essential are just as good.
i've blanched zuccinis a few times for my shrimp before but they never touched it. any ideas why?
Have you boiled the zucchini til soft?
Did you boil it til soft?
Are you overfeeding the tank by chance with other foods? How often do you feed your tank? Try using spinach and see if that makes a difference.
I put 6 guppies in with my cherry shrimp never again nearly wiped them all out...
