Very fascinating the way you bring the light up with the darker base. I am having a difficult time trying to establish the correct value for each plane. Possibly my sky is too dark and throws off the entire painting. I heard you say that a lot of beginners quit too soon or have unrealistic expectations of how quick they should finish the painting compared to you. I will keep that in mind when I get frustrated I cannot get the value correct the first time.
