    I'm from Indonesia, although mushroom cultivation is also practiced here. For me, who wants to know the simplest method for simple cultivation at home, of course I have to collect as many references as possible, whichever is easier to apply. Due to my limited command of English, with all due respect, I edited it into Indonesian so it is easy to understand. Thank you for the video for inspiring me to start cultivating this mushroom

    Awesome info! Can King oyster mushrooms be grown in buckets? I mean aren't they pretty big and heavy? How many times so far have you been able to reuse your buckets before they break? Can you please make a video on the buckets? How to get the air out when packing, how to temporarily seal the previously precut fruiting holes and best way to sterilize the small spaces of the lids and so forth..

    Hi guys, great video. One question I have is in relation to what you do with the chemical waste such as the lime baths with high Ph. Do you reuse it for several batches of substrate or does it need to be disposed after each use? How do you dispose this? I.e. do you need to neutralise this with acid?

    Honestly, it was a very interesting video. Thank you for the effort and time you invested in creating this video. I was really interested to start a small business from growing mushrooms but I believe it is not feasible in Turkey. One Kilo of Mushroom in market is sold for 2 to 3 dollars depending on kind and season. If it will cost me 2 dollars per kilogram then there will be a loss because I still have to sell it to wholesale sellers who will eventually wants to sell it for end users for 2 to 3 dollars.

    It's funny how the internet works. I'm originally from Devon and I now live in Sweden. While wasting time flicking through Instagram stories this advert appeared. First of all I've grown mushrooms before in a similar manner, secondly I felt like I've seen one of the guys before in real life & then found out they are based in Exeter which is around 30 minutes from my hoe town of Torquay. Maybe the Instagram algorithm suggested it through my older photo locations (in Devon) plus my google searches for mushroom cultivation in the past.
    Anyway great video, loved every second of it.

    So from the maths you say 10 kg of mushrooms takes 10-15 hours a week of time and in the uk retails at about £12 per kilo. You say that it costs you £2.10 for every kilo you produce so worse case is you only earn £6 per hour or £10 per hour in the best circumstances for your efforts! I suppose my question is does scaling the business mean you can produce more kg of mushrooms in less time to make it a lucrative venture? Because with margins like that you could work in a warehouse and make better money with none of the hassles of running your own business! Please don't read this as being negative, I'm just trying to understand as a business man who is genuinely interested how this model actually is capable of turning a worthwhile profit.

I am quite sure I cracked it. I am very sure I am gonna to harvest some yellow and grey oysters very soon. and the best part is my incubation and fruiting rooms is all in one, with zero gadgets or mechanical (fan, humidifier, and the lot). Plastic sheeting a section behind and outside of my garage. That's it. Natural and Nature does it

    Let me tell you guys a story, when I was 23 I got out of the USMC and I started using VA loans to flip houses. So my last house I bought for 261,000 and now it’s on sale after remodeling for 489,000 years what is apprised for ya know? but bc of the way the real estate market is I am stuck. I lost 80,0000 in PLTR and tons in BTC. So I live 7,8000 above sea level. The house in literally on the side of the mountain. Now with all that being said if I don’t sell in AUG I’m stuck here. And the only thing Colorado is good for anymore is skiing snowboarding. Anyways I need to start making money. So if you wanted to set up shop in my house and I would sell them at local stores farmers market I would. I have 1,3000 sq I’m not even using in the house.

    I understand that you're offering invaluable advice that's worth tons of money when offered as 1 on 1 consultancies; but 400-500€ are still very scary digits for a young university student like me.
    So I think one solution could be to break the course into more affordable chunks.
    Something I would consider accessible could be three parts 100€ each. Then maybe don't include all the tools and give us the possibility to buy them separately(?)

    A few questions from a complete novice- After you collect the mushrooms when they have been fruited, do you completely discard the soil? This doesn't seem very labor intensive after initial building setup( i.e. filling a bag and moving it from room to room, and then packaging) am I missing something? Is the biggest issue finding the market/restaurants to buy from you? I live near Scottsdale and Phoenix Arizona, and I know that there are quite a few high end restaurants here, but there are already a few mushroom suppliers here.

    • @seancostello26
      @seancostello26 3 года назад +2

      it is SUPER labor intensive. Filling bags, shaking, etc, even though i have a small closet grow space i spend about 1-2 hours a day maintaining everything. Finding customers isn't as hard as you would think.. and some mushrooms will continue fruiting after harvest, some have to be soaked and cold shocked to produce a second harvest.. some are just not worth a second flush. Hope that helps

      @@joshtryon1107 i sell most of my mushrooms at a farmers market, so i just go down there once a week or twice if i have a larger harvest, you pay a small fee to be a member and that's all and then you can sell all you want.. but i'm looking at getting some restaurants as customers as im starting to ramp up my production.. right now im growing anywhere from 15-25 pounds of lions mane a week but i want to get to about 100 pounds per week, i'm currently in the process of fitting out my garage for additional grow space

    Question...I'm in the middle of my first attempt at growing in a Monotube...It's been about 2 weeks since I inoculated my substrate...I just noticed that overnight there are puddles of water...forming along the walls of my tub....So far I see no pinning but the extra water puddling has me worried...Is this puddling common...am I in trouble and don't know it?

    • @T-Gunnn
      @T-Gunnn 3 года назад +3

      There shouldn't be puddles as your substrate should be able to drip a little water when squeezed.

    • @matthewjacobs141
      @matthewjacobs141 3 года назад

      @@T-Gunnn I hear you but that doesn't negate the fact there were puddles. Someone else suggested blotting them up with paper towels which I did... What's strange is it took two weeks for these pools of h20 to form overnight

      @@matthewjacobs141 that could be due to high humidity overnight? I can't say for sure, does seem a bit odd, but i've had something similiar occur inside of grain spawn bags.. i find that putting moisture absorbers in the area where i store them prevents this

    Now, I'm a little confused here. I thought mushrooms grow on acidic substrate and now you are rasing it with lime baths. I get that it kills things off but is does the PH need to be changed before inocculating?

    Hi guys,having done my market research and established a significant demand for all types of mushrooms in my area, I've been reading up and researching the practicalities by following various channels on RUclips. I love your channel and am grateful for the many useful advice and tips provided and therefore, I would be grateful if you would be kind enough to answer the following. As a keen gardener, i follow the rule of sowing my crops weekly or every other week in order to harvest regularly ; I intend on starting with oyster mushrooms and haven't come across specific advice on how often I should be starting batchs of mushrooms in order to maintain a daily harvest. In other words, as space is a consideration, should I start a 2nd batch when the 1st is at the 'pin' stage or once I've began to harvest the 1st? ( i hope it makes sense!!). Thankyou, keep up the great work!

    • @GroCycleTV
      @GroCycleTV  Год назад +1

      Great question - this all depends on your setup, and if you're buying in your substrate blocks, or making/inoculating your own... in the past we had a shipping container farm, and had one batch inoculating and at the same time another batch fruiting - that gave us large harvests which we would either sell, or preserve - often dehydrating/drying them. If it's at home, your idea of putting in a new batch as soon as the current one pins would work, and give you small, but regular harvests - I'd just make sure you can keep the humidity levels up, but I think your suggestion would work great!!

    if your oyster fruiting blocks are taking 2 to 3 weeks to colonize your doing it wrong !!
    I have learned a lot from this channel, here is my method.
    my 5 pound fruiting blocks take 4 to 6 days to fully colonize (5.5 to 6 pounds with the oyster grain spawn)
    this is for oyster mushrooms only
    1 pound of hardwood pellets
    0.75 pounds of straw pellets
    0.25 pounds of wheat bran
    3 pounds of water
    (5 pound total)
    let soak on a bowl until all water is absorbed & stir well
    add to your mushroom growing bag
    pressure cook for 2.5 hours at 15 PSI
    let cool to room temp
    add 0.5 to 1 pound of grain spawn (more = faster colonization) I use 1 pound spawn per 5 pound block
    seal bag
    will colonize in 4 to 6 days & you will have mushrooms fully grown & ready to harvest in another 7 to 10 days
    for me this works with, pink oysters, yellow oysters, pearl aka common oysters & blue oysters.
    for phoenix aka summer oysters use softwood pellets as a substitute for the hardwood pellets.
    here is my video of yellow oysters after 3 days growth from the time I cut open the bag
    ruclips.net/video/usCetR1FbwA/видео.html
    BTW: not trying to steal viewers, I would like people to grow more mushrooms in less time.

    I'd like to point out something important. While mushrooms are incredibly nutritious, you must cook them or your body can not process those nutrients. Also, while mushrooms contain most nutrients people need, they do not contain protein or fat; both essential to your diet. Nuts are good for protein and some fats, avocado and coconut oil are a good additional source of fats. As always avoid highly processed junk and seed oils. Avocado and coconut oil is made from the flesh. That is the difference. The most complete diet you could eat is meat (grass fed/pastured and finished), dairy, mushrooms. I use vegetables and herbs as flavorings but not as a main source of nutrients. Swap out sugar for stevia, though natural cane sugar or raw honey is ok, but sugar carbs should only ever be for a treat.
