Special Transition school at NIPMR - Thrissur

National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NIPMR) is an autonomous Institution under the Social Justice Department. NIPMR designs, develops and implements therapeutics, educational, vocational and awareness programmes in disability for the service providers, who are working for the care and cause of children/persons with disabilities for their rehabilitation and mainstreaming in the society.
For the overall development of specially abled children, we have a special transition school.Currently there are exclusive schools for children with Cerebral Palsy and Autism. The training mainly focuses on child-centred approach model of education, teaching daily life skills to children. Pre-vocational skill training are also a part of our curriculum. The training school fosters resilience and independence, enabling students to be engaged participants in community life.

As a sibling of a student at the special needs school, I'm concerned about the teachers' performance and education Despite hoping for a supportive environment, their effectiveness falls short. There is a gap between their claimed proficiency and actual teaching quality. It's crucial for the school administration to address these discrepancies promptly. Students with special needs deserve dedicated educators for their success. I request that the administration take these concerns seriously and enhance the quality of education and support services.
