    When the battery is full how many km can you drive at , say, 100 km/h before the thermic engine kicks in to recharge the battery?

      as far as I remember around 5,5 litres in 3 days drive (country roads, highway and a bit of Stockholm city drive)

    Is top speed really only 180km/h?

      That’s the trade off for a „feel-like“ EV with a range of around 900km. For my personal use it would be completely bc I rarely drive with more than 80 km/h. Most of the time I just drive in the city so no need for a top speed monster.

    What if im driving uphill and need ~70 % permanent power, till the battery runs out. This is what's always happening with my IONIQ Hybrid. How much HP will be left then ?! 100?

    • @crospotter13
      @crospotter13  Год назад +1

      hello, this works different - only ELECTRIC motor is driving the wheels, and ELECTRIC MOTOR gets the power from petrol engine (so there is a petrol engine, electric motor, battery and converter in the system, that is how it works) So you will not run out of battery as the petrol engine will be here to give electricity. Only thing you need to do is to fuel up the car and you are ready to go

      @@crospotter13 yes i know, but if I’m driving in the mountains uphill and always need 70-100% throttle to keep 100 kph, what happens if the battery runs out? The ice is much more weak then the electric engine and it is impossible to convert the same energy to keep the battery charged?

    • @cb5110
      @cb5110 Год назад

      @@r0ck3tdr1v3r it does not work like that, the car also has a generator with unknown power out put, if the battery need recharge , the generator will provide power to both the battery and the motor.
      you are speaking about engine power, which has nothing to do with the motor or generator, but engine power has to do with torque and speed, the engine has to have both torque and speed, torque to turn and keep the momentum and speed to rotate the generator gear, generator does not go off engine power , it goes by the rpm or speed of the engine, even a 47 hp motor can run up to 4000 RPM, so you are confusing the inertia of the engine, with hp of the engine. The ICE can be weak, what matter is the ICE needs to keep the rotation, or increase it, that what Nissan implement which they call linear tune, as motor demand increase engine RPM increase as well.

    • @r0ck3tdr1v3r
      @r0ck3tdr1v3r Год назад

      @@cb5110 what happens if the battery is empty, because you drive uphill and you want to get it empty? How much power generates the ice to the generator and how much power has the electric motor then?

    • @cb5110
      @cb5110 Год назад

      @@r0ck3tdr1v3r The battery never goes empty it goes down to certain percentage, think it 60 or 30 %, cannot remember the exact number, then the controller, send a engine start command, the engine is restart by the generator, by the battery sending a short burst of power, the engine kicks in to run the generator, which take over the duty from the battery, via the controller, the generator supply enough power to charge battery and also power the motor.
      How much power generate by the ICE only Nissan can answer that question, how much power the generator has, only Nissan can answer that question.
      The only thing we know is that at low speed the engine rotate at 1,000 RPM and at the highest speed the engine rotate max at 4000 RPM.

      You are aware this one has no transmission of any kind, not even the variomatic as many normal hybrids utilise at this moment. The dealership even told me they are scraping all transmissions and classic stuff begining with this one, just not worth it.

    Little point in reviewing hybrid cars if you are not going to give any indication of mpg/tank range and range on battery power alone. 🤔🤔 It is after all one of the main reasons to buy them.
