- So after putting down almost 800 hp and nearly 1500 ftlbs tq on the dyno, the Stage 4s build on the Allison trans was just done for. So me and Truckmaster tear out the trans to allow the MASTER, Mark from Kodiak Truck to put the beans into this BA new Allison Transmission build.

I think I might be contacting Mark, I have a 2002 LB7, originally a 5 speed the guy that owned it prior did the 6 speed mod, at highway speeds when I put my foot in the throttle, I still have plenty of power, but the trans will kick out and revert to a 5 speed. The other day I was towing a trailer at about 65, pushed the throttle down to pass and ended up locking into 4th and stayed there. Everytime the fix is to shut it off and do a trans relearn on the Edge E2. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
11:38 I think my Allison 1000 in my Silverado 8.1 has a leaking piston because mine will slam shift 2-1 when cold. 240k miles on what looks to be an unopened trans, time for a rebuild soon.
Wow I did not know the 496 ci. uses the allison.They should of kept that beast.Ford now has their 7.3 and all Chevy has is the 6.2.Bring back the big block Chevy 💪🏻.GM has a new 638 ci. Crate engine,1000hp N/A🤘🏼.Put that in a bowtie fuggin 👌🏼😁.
I would love to find a clean 8.1 quadrasteer.

@@gettin_while_growin1512 2500 quadrasteers are a thing. Trucks and suburbans. I don't think you could get the Allison with the quadrasteer though. 4l80 in the QS trucks.

How much may I ask that such a job cost? Hope to visit Mark when towing travel trailers out of Indiana(I'm from east coast of Canada) .... And just get er done. Mine is an lly. And I'd like the 6speed upgrade if possible

Just curious and ignore if it's a sore subject. Did you make out ok on the sale of your huge epiq box? If memory serves me well it wasn't very old when you got out of turning wrenches.
I imagine there was a good trade in value on the master series you had before that.
Yeah I had traded in my master on the epiq, and I sold it not just bc I had left wrenching stuff the time, but also bc I bought a new house/property. I didn’t get quite as much as I’d have liked for it, but it helped in getting our down payment. But…. Now that I’m back wrenching…I’ll just say, something bigger and badder is in the works🤷♂️

Torque converter or that bearing close to the input that was heavily discolored on mine🤷♂️
Anyone can build transmission, but it takes more than know how to swap transmission parts.
